We love our turret machines to this current of times. What a great machine we do not know this maker but we can see as clean as day that the machine was built to last and last she sure did. Just look at that giant big and mighty 6 position turret, we would be honored to run this machine. Really nice turret auto-feed. Thank you for the GREAT demonstration we love it, Lance & Patrick.

I have a chance to buy one of these for very very cheep, it seems to work perfectly and has tons of extras. what should I check for other than the obvious warn bedways broken gears etc?

Hello, Put the headstock in neutral. If the spindle starts to move, it means the clutch is leaking and is worn out. You could have clutch problems down the road that would warrant a repair/rebuild. Check if the spindle brake works. Engage feed handles and make an attempt to stop the forward motion of the handle. If you can stop movement, the clutch slipped, and there could be a problem that warrants repair, or it needs adjusted. Inspect the shape of the bedways and cross slide ways. Move the cross slide apron and hex apron from end to end, looking for tight spots in the bedways. Ensure the lube system works properly. Test the cross slide apron and hex apron for proper knockoff. Engage the feed handle and let the unit complete its stroke; when the stop dogs are hit, the knock off should engage. Run through both apron speeds and feeds to ensure they work properly. Check if both cross slide apron and hex apron move in forward and reverse. Check if turret indexes in all of its positions, and its clamp is working properly. Thank you, STI
