Finally someone who can play this. Have been searching for a pianist who understands the 1st movement. Nobody else, even the "greatest" legends out there, they don't get the right tempo or the right changes in atmosphere. Bravo.

To me Seymour Interpretation of the moonlight is the best, yet it feel like naked but much sorrowful

He is playing it like it's one of Chopin's nocturnes, very introspective and romantic. Nothing against it, but my favourite renditions are Gilels, Rubinstein and Barenboim. But I honestly think that such nuances are up to the interpretation and a matter of opinion. It's not like they completely change the piece, it's still Moonlight, and we don't know how Beethoven himself would have preferred it to be played.

It takes almost a lifetime to be able to play the 32 piano sonatas of Beethoven completely. You have to dedicate your life to it. Fazıl Say also said that it took me almost 20 years to make this 605-minute piece. Now I understand, the main thing is not to hit the notes one after the other, but to give the feeling. This is also a rare skill.

Beethoven was famous for his improvisations. Nobody knows how they have been, some authors think this movement could be a hint how they could have sound. He was also unconventional in his art of playing piano, this is why Fazil may be in some way similar.

The way he plays, tempo, slowness, expression, hos interpretation.... makes my soul ACHE with some unfulfilled yearning..... (Same feeling, much like the 1st time I heard this piece played by a similar interpretation some 35 yrs ago as a older child/adolescent.) I personally believe this is somewhere near the original intent /playing style of Beethoven, at least for this piece. It is about a deep yearning, unrequited love after all....

I think out of all composers, Beethoven is the one whom he feels close to. This piece proves it. I think this one is one of the hardest sonata's ever to play. Very slow piece with so much emotion. Hard to resist not to press harder or faster to notes. He organizes his temper beautiful. Pure and rare talent
