If they weren't in on it they'd cancel as soon as the payment came through or soon after. How about we book up all their rooms for a week or two using credit cards to encourage them to do something about this convenient mistake?

Goodness me , this brings back a lot of memories, I used to work at auctarader house hotel many years ago , after our shift we all went to the morvin tavern (always a lock in ) great memories, not much going on , but a lovely place , going out out nights were always in Perth 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

That is what the consumer protection society is for! the complaint should be registered with them those who previously have been over charged should be refunded. Or these websites should have a "let the buyer beware" Latin "caveat emptor". If monies have been accepted/charged from your account then sale is confirmed and it is between the website and the hotel to sort out post sale!.

Wow! To be honest, I am looking forward to a response from Booking if you get any. I don't want to judge anyone, but I have experienced that hotels do this. They promote their rooms on third-party websites for cheaper prices and then blame the websites and ask for extra money.

I can though recommend eating there, the restaurant is run separately to the pub/hotel. Indian chefs etc, bloody brilliant Indian food. Pure chance as I was coming thru mid-week and after a decent lunch, little else open.

False advertising.. i would report to trading standards and ombudsman. Let them sort it out. Im thinking it's the hotel especially if the hotel is aware of it. Shame on the hotel for bad customer care.. thanks for sharing ❤

Nobody has to honour the booking. If the price is listed incorrectly they have a right to refuse the sale. It's a commonly held belief that say a supermarket shelf says a jar of coffee is 2p but it's really £2 that the customer is entitled to the coffee at 2p. That's simply not the case.

The minimum all hotels will demand is £100.00, which does not guarantee food, breakfast, evening meal, heating, a nice view, a comfortable bed, or an on-suite. You should have booked yourself in as an illegal immigrant, then you would get four/five-star treatment and all meals of your cultural Scottish background i.e.; Kurrysauce & chips. All for free. In fact, the government would have paid you. Give this Auchterarder another few weeks and you will go into shock and when you come back, it will be as though you woke up in a third-world nightmare. Waz Likuz and their ah deed!
