🚨 WARNING This video discusses the dangerous dynamics of being involved with a narcissist and the potential harm they can cause. It emphasizes how narcissists view others as external objects and feel threatened by their independence and separateness. The video explores the narcissist's tendency to forget about their victims but recalls them when their independence is displayed, leading to aggression. The ultimate goal of a narcissist is to eradicate and replace their victims.

How do I save myself from this? This is happening right now in my life! I am a survivor of breaking up with my FIP (former intimate partner) after being arrested by the police on her false accusations. But she still had our two sons by her side, the older of whom she made a second narcissism provider. (And that is what led to the cataclysmic events that led to the breakup). She constantly seeks contact with me, and I try to hide from her..... And in doing so, she continues to falsely complain about me to the police. And I've been arrested two more times on false charges.... And she vandalized my belongings in the house I raised our children in... Smashed the windshield in my car and has slashed all four tires twice... She's abusing our children... This is a cry for help!

I agree. Sharing nothing new or what you accomplished in your life. Keep it to yourself. Don't feed into negative behavior and encouraging her victim role mentality. Also, please stay off Facebook and all social media sites. If you respond to her comments it encourages her nasty behavior. Go black out and no contact, except when it concerns your child. You owe her nothing to know anything about your life. It is your life and not hers. Don't allow her to sabotage it. If you have friends in common watch what you say. @@Bucephalus84 yes, indeed! I did mean narcissist, not narcissistic. It was an opinion, not one you had to agree with. 3 years ago a textbook grandiose narcissist moved to the upstream property to our small farm. I will spare the details and the damage, but it has been an eyeopener, and character building. The only gift has been a compassion for those forced to deal in close quarters with them. I still find it amazing how narcissists can live completely inside their altered fictional reality. I recently got into a texting match with my narc, not sure why I bothered, and of course she trotted out her LONG distorted series of events in which I was the vilian and she was the victim. Obviously, most all of it was exaggerations, half truths, irrelevant details, and outright lies. But then I realized, THIS is the version of reality she tells to other people. While it was just a bunch of garbage for me to read and laugh at, she actually spends her time telling all her other supply sources and useful idiots all this made up stuff about me. And they'll never escape this bizarro world theyve created for themselves. They'll just dig in deeper and pile it on, lie after lie after lie. Realize you two are in completely different planes of existence and vibrational frequencies.

He wanted to 'kill' me by trying to impose humiliating, physically sadistic and dangerous practices in sexual intercourse. I respect your space, I cannot name these practices, but had I consented, I might have ended up in hospital. He wanted me to consent, yes. Because he enjoyed seeing me break my boundaries for him. He introduces you into his cycle of grieving. That part. I had to sit next to him while he cried for literally 2-4 hours and abandon my needs for his. He wasn’t going to acknowledge the pain he has caused me. Although, he for sure was going to play victim and cry. Cry not for few minutes, but HOURS. This happened every week or two for last 5.5 years. He would cry over the most absurd situations. I feel there’s a hole in my solar plexus that’s forming. Literally. He basically wants to steal that from me and be as empty as he is. It’s as if he’s trying to create a black hole in me where I would never have enough of everything just as he needs constant validation, needs met, and acts entitled to no end. It’s the grieving/crying part for me that I can’t seem to grasp. Where is it coming from? He cries for hours over any situation. As if he’s looking for me to discuss something that will add to this relationship in a positive way and that’s his chance to start weeping for hours all over again. I guess I’ve heard him say many times his seemingly narcissistic mother would cry too and expect him to sit there ignoring his needs and wants to attend to her crying often.

Are Narcissists _consciously_ aware of this goal, to eliminate their partner's autonomy and independence, or is this an unconcious decision (due to the narcissist's lack of insight, grandiose sense of self-importance, entitlement, etc.) The narcissist believes they have ALL the answers (i.e. "I alone can fix it") They feel entitled to have others, particularly their inner circle of friends and family to accommodate the Narcissist's preferences (due to their brilliant intelligence or dashing good looks) Is there any point in a narcissist's life when the evidence of their own destructiveness becomes undeniable? Interesting! After 35 years of marriage I had my first therapy session recently because every time I stood up for myself my husband was quick to say it was me the problem, and that there was something wrong with ME, so I believed him. One of the things I said during therapy was "I feel so dead inside". She asked me to explain what I mean by that. I couldn't. How do you explain death? Soon after that incident I set a boundary and did not allow my husband to cross my boundary. He left the house and hasn't returned since then. Seven days now. Yet how come I feel that I am the one who died????

Sending good energy your way. I’ve been there but I finally broke free from that misery. Educate yourself about all this, trauma bonding and all sorts of manipulation from a narcissist are partly why you feel this way. It is absolutely true, no contact is primordial for you to start healing, finding yourself again and be able to look back to gain the benefit of hindsight. There are many things that you will not find closure to, that you will never understand. The extremes in the relation are helpful for that fog and lack of clarity. Don’t ever forget how you have felt you are walking on eggshells all the time around the narcissist. You Can Break Free and you CAN return to life from that darkness. ✌️ ❤️ ✌️

Grandiosity is only excuse, cover up for weakness. Since 2 years I have tried to find which trauma made me such a harm and I can not find any particular sign or theme which would resonate in me now. Thank you Sam for sharing your knowledge and hope for narcissts all over the world. Love from Poland 💗

It is not one trauma, but trauma your whole life. You live in trauma. I hope you are seeing a therapist that knows about NPD and can help you to work through your trauma.

My daughter is doing this to me. Whatever I do she she hates it but once I abandon it because of her judgement she waits a bit then does it herself. If I have an opinion about a topic she shuts me up quick saying she doesn't want to know - I am silenced again and again till I am nothing. It feels like "there can only be one". Anything good in me she has to become but not before i have died to it by her hand. I am dead already

Thank you for this video, I’ve always said it’s like he wants to be me, god knows he stole half if not more of what I owned like he had a right to it. They take and take till theirs nothing left & they ruin every aspect of your life, it’s like being in prison, at times death seems like the only way out. It’s painful to think about what it must be like to be an empty shell & a broken one at that.

Narcissist: Never heard of him/her. LOL! Thank you, Sir. In my personal family relationship. It is true. The narcs words feel as if I am either a good tool or demonic force to be verbally destroyed. I look at the scars from the mental abuse feel my options are either to submit and die or disappear from the narc's life.

Read up on Levinas on the other and letting the other be the other, and also Martin Buber on the mystery of the "Du". Will give some philosophical context instead of a merely psychological framework and will also provide some ontological understanding of the empty darkness in your own eyes.

Professor, I am deeply grateful for all your outstanding work in teaching about these disorders. My family of origin are peppered with narcissists and I married a narcissist, with a terrible narcissist mother. Throughout I felt what you described in this video. Right now my oldest sibling who is staving off many issues of ill health, and is a dark triad or tetrad personality, wants to do me in by projection, gaslighting, and manipulating the other flying monkey siblings, as well as other relatives against me. I am so glad I went through your numerous videos or I wouldn't have a clue as to what was going on. This one is powerful and says it all. Thank you for being there and delineating in fine detail these severe outcomes. Stay blessed Professor. Namaste

It's a strange notion that a victim who ends up becoming a perpetrator of emotion abuse becomes a villain. I've never met an individual that was harmless and did not cause harm to someone in some way. Where is the line between a individual that is not equip with the tools to properly care for others and those who do not care for others?

It makes sense. The narcissist I was seeing for a short time told me he liked the saying "memento mori" meaning remember death in Latin. Very telling, but also ironic. What is the use of remembering death for one that is already dead inside?

Wait a sec. I am starting to think maybe I am the Narcissist. The thing is I have built a wall because of my childhood trauma inadvertently, but then started only being able to befriend what I now realize were narcissists, as it was like I was a narc magnet. I believe I was also subtly groomed by my parents. If I constantly push people away because of how I cannot trust anyone anymore, does that mean I am narcissistic? Is there any treatment or cure for it? Because I have heard it can't be cured or treated.
