You may as well pay the full price. This defeats the purpose of monthly installments. This payment option is only available to customers Amazon deems "trustworthy." The fact they are charging and holding the full price and then dividing that up monthly, shows they have zero trust of their "trustworthy" customers.

Sure, let's do the $100/mo option. Clerk: "Awesome! So, your total right now comes out to $1,000! You: ".......But..... you just said I would pay $100/mo...🤔😑" Clerk: "I did say that!" Apple monthly installments work the same way(if you use an Apple card for buying their technics). They "subtract" the amount of purchase from the credit limit. And every month "add" part of this sum to minimal payment.
@loquito1966 Жыл бұрын
I think they do that to make you feel that you can afford a purchase that you wouldn’t normally buy if you had to pay for it all at once. Imagine if you have a card with a 500 dollar credit limit and you’re looking to buy something worth $600. And you think to yourself, well I could pay it off with 6 months at $100 a month. I’m not sure why anyone including the creator thought they wouldn’t be charged the full amount to their credit card. They make you pick a credit card to use the promotion. Hope you didn’t use your debit card!! This is not qvc! This is a credit card promotion as stated. Whenever you charge something to your credit card it charges the entire full amount and you make payments towards that amount to pay it off. The benefit of this is they divide the total amount by 12 months for example and you pay that amount for 12 months with 0% interest. If you just charge it to your 22% interest credit card without this promotion you will be paying the interest on that total amount until you pay it off. The advantage to amazon is they get paid within 12 months vs several years and the advantage to you is there is no interest. Win win.

I am so annoyed because I opt in for an Amazon Card and took a mid hit to my credit score when I open it because I wanted to do this monthly payment thing. My order was declined and I couldn't figure out why it did, until I did this research and came upon this video, if only I did more research into this, I wouldn't look like a complete idiot.

You think you were cheated. I used this to buy a PS5 for over $500! Now I have to return it to get my money back, and I've already used the game code that came with it. I bought it before I knew what the minimum payment was on my card. It's over $100! I don't know if I can return it in time to get my minimum payment lowered or not.

On Amazon, there's a DJI Mini SE drone I want to get that costs $300 and I've been curious about the monthly payments it offered. It's $60 a month for 5 months (to add up to $300). I added it to my cart and selected monthly payments and then it said It'll charge me $60+tax due at shipment and then with $240 remaining balance). I haven't purchased it since I wanted to see the costs before doing so. Since I'm only using debit, will it charge all $300 right away and then pay off the $60 for 5 months while they already have my full charge in possession? Or will the debit card make a difference and actually pay off $60 monthly separately instead of the full $300 day one charge.
@ACUmancave2 жыл бұрын
Shoitu, I can't say since my video covers Equal pay, yet if you want to try it be sure you have the full amount or you could use your debit card as a credit card and not have the full amount and therefore it will reject you if it tries to take it all.
@atumanov55 Жыл бұрын
The 5 month payment option is a completely different thing, and it actually does what it says it does. It will debit you only the monthly payment. The 12 month equal pay with the Amazon credit card though is a complete scam like mentioned in the video.

@atumanov55 hi there , so I want to buy some pc parts for a friend and its about 1.4 k tax included and there is an option sayng pay 350$ for 4 moths i don't get it done they take the full 1.4 k then debit 350 every month or do they actually take 350 a month only
@vRonnieIso2 жыл бұрын
I only have $480 in my bank account. A pc I want is $1,250. If I do the Amazon affirm monthly option which is $53 a month, will they take all my money?

No because affirm is a different option and they only take the agreed monthly amount..
