It seems weird that the guy doesn't seem to react to the drone at his feet. It guess that the camera detached from the drone itself and rolled along the ground until it hit his shoe. I guess the guy is looking at the drone on the floor some distance away, or the person controlling it.

If you're a drone owner, you should probably stay away from areas with lots of people. FTFY It doesn't matter which drone, and if there are known issues. A perfectly operation drone can fail. The only drones that should be flying around lots of people are those with proven/tested redundancy (hexa/octo copters) and then only when flown by skilled pilots that are sanctioned by the event they are flying.

I'll post a more detailed video later. But the hull is destroyed, battery dented, gimbal popped off with the part that hold the gimbal in the drone. The part that hold the hero 5 is broken, all props broken, imagine taking a sledgehammer to the drone. When I say it's totaled, I mean this thing is long gone. Parts flew 50+ feet

Looks like either a) faulty battery b) brown out (a short such as with an ESC), he needs to contact GoPro support so they can identify the root cause and make sure it never happens again. This will be covered under warranty if is genuinely is a hardware defect.

They've already been contacted. I hope they can just refund me since I don't trust the Karma brand anymore. I'll send them the parts in a plastic bag. I'm skeptical that they will bs this and somehow call it my fault though.

I'm not sure of the names of each country's airspace regulatory body, but I have heard that USA is actually the least strict at this point with regards to drones and model aircraft so I would bet that other countries have this rule too.
