Words have power. It takes a lot to build up but very little to tear down and this applies to everything. Positive reinforcement is a super power. Consistency in all things is another one and finally who you listen to. Your influences matter in all things, the atmosphere around you, the people around you, it all matters. I stopped watching certain influencers who I saw as not good for my journey. Happy New Year to you and your family.

I don't think our hair has issues because we say bad things about it. People with long thick hair always talk about it poorly and it still grows.

Relaxed hair is very demanding to keep healthy. It just breaks as soon as you miss to do something. I could no longer maintain now I'm natural and no more breakage.

Great tips, April. I'm glad you brought this up about speaking "positivity" into your hair. I find myself saying "negative" things about my hair and the same "negative" stuff happens. But ..... NO MORE! I'm going to stop doing that. Thanks beautiful...and you are still killin it out here. Still one of my favorites.😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Awww thank you so much!!! That warms my heart after such a tough year. We are all guilty for saying negative things about our hair among other things but 2023 we are doing better! I appreciate you for watching and Happy New Year!!!

Yeah I have started making sure that my hair is wrapped properly and covered and the bonnet for backup is insurance! I use heated rollers to get quick curls that last a few days in a pinch!

I've been guilty too of speaking negatively about the state of my hair, especially post covid. Thanks for the reminder to speak life even into our hair. ❣
@AprilSunnyBeauty Жыл бұрын
I think we are all a little guilty of that one. It's hard to speak kind words when your hair is not what your use to post COVID. I'm thankful to have any hair at all. So, I'm going to be my hairs biggest cheerleader from here on out! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

Sis, God had already given us that tea on words when he said in his word that life and death is in the power of the tongue and those who love it shall eat the fruit thereof. The results of this experiment ain't newly discovered. They're only now catching on to the good news of Abba. He said it thousands of years ago! We ought to speak life everyday. Beautiful hair btw. I don't have a specific length goal. I just want to see how long my hair can grow. Had never been relaxed before. Decided to try it out in Decemberof 2021 and 1 year 4 months later I'm at a length i've never been in my entire life. And you just made me wanna keep doing what I've been doing. 🎉 Great tips! Keep em coming!

Hello Sunny I give myself a retouch every 4 months I don't wear my hair down a lot but my protective style is that I wash and deep condition with my hair mixture and braid my hair with moisturizer and seal with my oils ...now every two weeks I take my braids down and start my process again I usually moisture and seal between my washes and I put a silk bunnet on and wear designer scarfs this way my hair is protective and taken care of and it retains my length my hair do not like to be messed with a lot and it love love moisture and oil ...this way I get compliments and girl when I put my makeup on WOW 👌 LOVE YOUR ADVICE

Very informative as always! It is always good to stick to a routine I do wash my hair Every 2 weeks. and lightly oil my scalp every 4 days because the moisturizer that I do use it last that long. but as I'm stretching I have to add moisturizer and likely oil every 2 days.. Happy Blessed New Year to you and your family God-bless you🙏🏽💕✨️

I've never had problems with my nape but on this current stretch it's been itchy and I was really worried I was going to scratch it out, it's still safe but that definitely reminds me of the power of words. It's such a well made point. Writing your regimen down is super helpful as well. I love that tip of putting the hole in the durag, I'm definitely stealing it, lol. Great video!! 💜
@AprilSunnyBeauty Жыл бұрын
Oooo No not scratch it out. Do you have eczema on your neck and nape area too? When I have flare ups in that area that's exactly how I feel too. LOL, the hole in the drug is all yours sis!!! Thank you so much for commenting and continuing to watch this channel. oxox

I have the same problem, there's a few oils for itchy scalp by Design Essentials and Carol's Daughter. They helped me before relaxing my hair and I had little to no burning.
@kalishajnz Жыл бұрын
@April Sunny I actually used to have eczema when I was little but I either grew out of it or the aloe water my grandma would make for me actually worked, lol. I live in FL and never experienced dry scalp, but the weather has been so crazy here. I think the cold we don't usually have brought it on. I oiled my scalp and have since had a relaxer, so for now, it's fine, but it was definitely itching like crazy.
