Both stocks have a long term potential, The most important thing is the ratio of the distribution based on the financials of each company. There are many other companies that are also doing well. You could just hire a financial advisor to guide you. A financial advisor really does help me do the distribution even between different asset classes. I don't even understand technical financial terms much. I just know I make really good profit, and I don't have to stress myself a lot.

TSLA rally of 100% in month from $100 to $200 was fueled by call buying which caused a gamma squeeze. No one would want to buy a stock that doubled in a month so the MM will liquidate hedges (stock in case of gamma squeeze). Not offering any particular advice, but I can assure you that both stocks still have growth potential. Re-distributing is not as hard as many people think it is. Ordinary investors lack the requisite level of diligence, so having a financial advisor on board is usually highly beneficial. In the market, this is how people generate enormous profits.

Sold TSLA in the early weeks of January at 250.08, Bought it back in April at 140.56. It might still go higher further tomorrow, I'm really comfortable with the price I paid, and was not willing to risk having it go higher with me on the sidelines. I also think we have a crash (of some size) coming, but I expect a short hard rise first. Big money wants a chance to sell for a profit. I think that explains the sudden surge in volume today. I guarantee my opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.

I just want to make sure I fully understand a covered call. If a cc hits the strike price and is exercised, I would receive the premium plus gains from the strike price? Sounds like a win, win. Yes, I may lose potential earnings if the stock climbs well beyond the strike price, but that's not a loss. It's the same as selling early in a move. You still are up, regardless.

Telling folks to buy options contract with no discussion on IV crush on an event as big as Tesla's is telling ppl to get wrecked. So many viewers who know only about the surface of options will get absolutely destroyed on this advice. Especially when youre saying folks with smaller portfolio size needs to take bigger risks. Last week mightve been a good play before the runup but this here is NOT a risk you'll want to take just 2 weeks before the event...

Today is a down day (Oct1). The risk with your strategy is that you are left holding bags when the market turns down. Then, selling CCs on them yields lower and lower returns which can't keep up with the capital losses. How did you fare during the COVID-19 and 2018 crashes?

If you feel TSLA will stay well below $300 why not SELL 310 CALLS and collect a large premium. I did and I'm of course covered. Right now much of the premium is volatility. As the upcoming news settles, good or modest, the volatility will evaporate rather quickly bringing the premium back to its real worth .... hopefully of course if sanity prevails.....

Selling covered calls with such high volatility makes sense to me. If you're right about a short squeeze then, presumably, after your stock is called away at an elevated price you can buy it back and pocket some nice premium and profit.

It's just that, like I said, I've seen this phenomenon of IVs surge before, and the stocks in question really skyrocketed later! I rather sell the news and be fearful when others are greedy as my favorite finance guru Warren Buffet would say. I gonna get puts with longer expiration after the 10/10/2024 news. People going to hit big profits and the sell offs will begin. That's my 2 cents/sense in.

You could buy the 10/18 $265-$270 call debit spread for $200. You would profit $300 if TSLA is at $270 or above. You would also lose all of your $200 if TSLA is below $265. I think it's a good trade. If I didn't already have so many shares, I would put it on myself.
