I have noticed that if you plan on using this to remember to shoot a little wider.
@glasspixelstudios8 жыл бұрын
Useful advice. I've noticed tight shots don't usually turn out as well. The wider the better.

Warp stabilizer + gimbal + OIS = god mode
@ajmarks31349 жыл бұрын
Nice test. Biggest difference was on the handheld shots, of course. Fair bit of shaking and lots of warping -- especially on the shot approaching the car. To be expected, I suppose with such shaky raw footage.
@glasspixelstudios9 жыл бұрын
AJ Marks Very true. The handheld footage we got was particular shaky b/c we were walking on extremely uneven terrain. We were extremely happy with the results after the warp stabilizer plugin, as imperfect as it was. At least it saved us from having to re-film.
@glasspixelstudios9 жыл бұрын
Yes, I think the more stable your footage is to begin with, the better your results will be after applying a warp stabilizer.

+Anthony Syracuse state your reason
@flatearthreality86838 жыл бұрын
+Jack Jerenore (johnrambo12765) look better! look at 0:23 how the clip is warping, is't all wavy and liquified... that's what warp stabiliser do to a clip in most cases....
@jackjerenore57368 жыл бұрын
Anthony Syracuse true, but when done right it looks good, sometines u need more cropping so you cant see much warping
@flatearthreality86838 жыл бұрын
+Jack Jerenore (johnrambo12765) that means more zoom... and that sucks... better be carefull holding the camera so it doesn's shake too much, and you're good. no need to stabilize

Can this stabilise video shot on non IS cameras?
@glasspixelstudios8 жыл бұрын
Yes, this plugin will work with footage shot on lenses without any Image Stabilization. In fact, we use this plugin frequently with footage we shot with our manual Rokinon Cine prime lenses and it usually works really well.

@glasspixelstudios7 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. Glad we could help! Mercalli works well. Very fast and easy to use, and we're generally happy with the quality. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they're making anymore plugins for Premiere and After Effects, but they do have a Stand Alone application.

About how much of the video is cropped because of post production?
@glasspixelstudios7 жыл бұрын
It depends on how shaky the original footage is, how stable you want it, and how much zoom you allow on the plugin. Average, I'd say it cropped between 5 and 10 percent.

is there any difference between ae and premiere's warp stab?
@glasspixelstudios8 жыл бұрын
I've used this plugin in AE and Premiere and they work exactly the same.
@joshmdmd7 жыл бұрын
The plugin is the same, but with AE you can go into the stabilization, click show trackers, and delete all the markers on your object that is supposed to be moving. This way your background will be stable and won't warp so much.

Video of a fisheye camera performs the warp-stabilizer to a wobble. Mercalli v4 can deal much better with fisheye. By considering the lens curvature it results in a quiet stabilization.
