I appreciate the reference shots of the finish, it's so hard to judge what paints are actually gonna look like over the internet most of the time, especially when buying online and not being sure how accurate the tone of a color really is.

There really needs to be a boxed set for effects paints. I've recently started running Cyberpunk Red, and would happily pay for a set that comes with those glow effects, oil and rust, and maybe a few others. In fact... Plasma Coil, Power Node, Lens Flare, Data System, Radiation, Oil Stains, Fresh Rust, Dark Rust, True Blood, and Dry Blood. Ten paints is a nice round number for a boxed set. Just saying...

Funny this popped in my recommendations. I'm getting back into the hobby and decided to give this brand a try, using Greedy Gold as my primer for my 1k Sons, and doing Hydra Turquoise as the main paint, followed by Fire Lizard cause I wanted the Rubrics to be a tad different. Would have gotten Daemonic Yellow otherwise if I was going for the true patterns. But I'm excited to get my practice in with some Chosens I got as being my first units in a Tzeentch colour scheme before I start collecting Rubric Marines.

These look cool AF❤ however.....I am using speedpaint(mainly 2.0, but also a little bit SP 1) and am concerned about combining these two! Will there be a problem with any kind of reactivation? Or isthat problem completely gone? Last question, does the effect paint come in a box of their own?

Could you describe the finish on those glow effects? This all looks pretty good, I think especially the rust effects might be a good replacement for my 'dirty down' which is nigh on impossible to mix.

The glow effects have a flat or matte finish similar to the rest of the Fanatic range

What about Fairy Dust? That is one of my fav effect paints. Actually does a great job painting the sparkle on diamonds like Buttstallion and Emma Frost(whole would probably not like being compared to that horse 😂)

i’m really excited for the vomit!! i’ve always wanted to be able to convey a very real battle tactic from midevil soldiers where they smear shit on their blades to cause infection in wounds and i believe this might be the paint for it!!!

Ugh. Ditch the brush on primer. All brush on primer is cursed and I wouldn’t call that an effect paint unless the effect is depression.

The general opinion I've seen is that, among brush on primers, the AP one is one of the best. I find that to hold up in my own use as well.

I mean that’s like saying it’s the best of the worst possible technique. Brush on primers are terrible. There is no brush on primer that compete with a rattle or airbrush prime. Calling it an effect paint is just absolutely weird. Priming isn’t an effect it’s just a super weird place to even feature it.

I guess the effects range is just a catch all for anything that's not a regular acrylic.
