The 80s were indeed the inuemdo Era and excess Era. Cherry Pie, Talk Dirty to Me, Love in an Elevator, Lips and Hips, etc. Fact us women lived these sings abd bands as much as men and still do. No one was offended in the era of sex, drugs and Rock N Roll everyone just rocked out to the music and had a great time.

In Jani's words the band took the album to the record company and wanted to call it Uncle Toms Cabin (in one interview he said he wanted to call it Love in stereo but the execs did not understand what it meant), but they said that the album lacked a big hit song so sent Jani away and 15 mins later he wrote the song on a pizza box (which is on display in the Hard Rock Cafe in Florida). The song was not written when the album was first presented to the execs.

Thanks for doing this Warrant song reaction this brings back Flashback memories when i saw them in concert on this very tour when they toured with Firehouse , and Trixter opening up for Warrant in 1990 . I got to see Jani Lane when still with Warrant when he started going down hill in the mid 90's when they also toured with Ratt as well.

Jani Lane hated this song ! But when time came to cast the " Lady" in the Video , Jani said " i want the Whitesnake girl ," as Bobbi Brown was in a Whitesnake Video , management said " no as she was the girlfriend of one of the Nelison Twins " but it all worked out ! I saw Poison in 1989 Brisbane Australia, went back stage and saw Bobbi there , Then Skid Row in 1990 Brisbane Australia, same Bobbi was back stage ! I alwsys remember as later i fell off my chair and realisied it was all the same " lady" . I think she must have loved 80s/90s hair metal bands alot !!

I agree with you. Songwriting in the 80s was tougher and better than now because you had to come up with innuendo and euphemisms for all the dirty things you were saying so you could still get on the radio. Now you can just say all the nasty words you want and it doesn't matter. I don't have a problem with that but it made it more challenging and fun back then.

Another fun fact, Joey Allen and Erik turner(who weren't good enough at the time) did not play the guitar parts on this album, they were recorded by a session musician named Mike slamer, who then taught the parts to them after Allen and turner practiced religiously to improve their craft....
