Very true. He was a scarred, lost soul. And drowned himself trying to drown it all. One of the best songwriters of his time in my book. If anything, the genre is what held him back.

Too bad he couldn’t have fought his addiction off a bit longer. He would have realized how impactful his music was a bit later, most likely doing the casino tour thing. Jani and Warrant stood out amongst other hair bands in that it’s really well-constructed, well voiced music. The depth of the lyrics and music, even production was so better than the average. Shame on the rapist and his manager that ruined this man. What a loss. I hope someday it comes out who the jerks were. Whatever they contributed to the genre cannot even close to what they took from it.

All those rock bands gave so much of themselves to give us the rock music that still lives on here and in our hearts. Come on this is bliss even though we have to live without the best of them we have the best of them for life downloaded or 20 bucks for all the music we can listen to! You know what's crazy, is that when bands like this were headlining, there were people our age wishing they could go back to the 1970's, because they thought the new hair bands were terrible! I didn't feel that way, obviously. I do think there are some bands that really shined in each decade. For the 1980's into the very early years of the 1990's, Warrant shined bright. They played often on MTV, I had their tape, also my mixtapes that my boyfriend made for me (we are talking 1989). I came here today because I found an old mixtape, and I'm making a Kickass mix on my youtube channel with all the songs from this mixtape, and a few extra like this one. I'm sure the list will get pretty long the more tapes I find.

Jani Lane was a phenomenal singer and songwriter. The same can be said for Tom Keifer of Cinderella. The Hair Metal Bands got a bad reputation. In the Grunge Era. That was not fair. They were awesome musicians. Looking back 30 plus years on. It's no question who survived. Hair Metal Bands inspired The New Wave Of Classic Rock Bands today.

Damn, what a hell of a lead guitar player is Mike Slamer. Unbelievable; his sound, technique, frasing, timing, punch. Absolute a good mix with the band Warrant.

I was born in 83, but I still remember the late 80s VIVIDLY, and while I am a thrash and death metal guy, I can't front, I love me some hair metal or glam or whatever you call it. I would kill to have been a teenager in the 80s!!!! Being a kid in the 80s was a good enough time, I can't imagine the fun 80s teenagers had!!!!! Those of you who were lucky enough to be 80s teens, you guys are truly blessed. 🤘

I agree 👍💯. I was born in 72, 😂 at 4 years old I had memorized certain songs . I can remember all the Awesome 😎 concerts we went to at Memphis 🎸🎵⚡, ZZ Top, Black Crows , Night Ranger, Warrant,The Outfield,Jackal to name a few. I read an article about Jani getting assaulted at a party and he never got over it. It affected him really hard . I can totally understand, I have dealt with Anxiety, Depression, Severe Mood Swings as a result of childhood trauma, abuse at the hands of older supposedly responsible adults. I have never sought treatment. I partied like a 🎸 ⭐ for a long time. Thankfully I'm lucky, 🙏 to live with my Mom, and Dad. I take care of them , I don't have time to bust a spring, as the saying goes. They are in poor health and even though I have never really accomplished Anything, no kids, never married, I can say I'm grateful for not passing my demons on to anyone else. 🙏, God Bless you, you obviously know Great 🎶. Keep on Rocking In The Free 🌎, it May Not Last Much Longer 🤞 💜 🎸

I listen to "Hair Nation", channel 39, on SiriusXM quite a bit. They play this song on a regular basis. I grew up in the heyday of this music and sometimes you want to hear a good rock song with a melody, maybe even some harmonies. Nice to see that others, including those younger than me, appreciate the same things.

These guys were extremely good at getting as much potential as possible out of their song ideas. Especially this one. The choice and timing of all the guitar riffs. How the melodies were handled. The arrangement of it all. It's practically perfect. They turned what could've been just a good ballad into an amazing one, and that's so tough to do
