Lyrics:
I've got a picture of your house
And you're standing by the door.
It's black and white and faded,
And it's looking pretty worn.
See the factory that I worked
Silhouetted in the back.
The memories are gray but man they're really coming back.
I don't need to be the king of the world
As long as i'm the hero of this little girl
Heaven isn't too far away
Closer to it everyday
No matter what your friends might say
How I love the way you move
And the sparkle in your eyes
There's a color deep inside them
Like blue suburban skys
When i come home late at night
And you're in bed asleep
I wrap my arms around you
So I can feel you breathe

I know what u mean. I'm 37 and grad in 2001. I grew up on this band and many other late 80's and early 90's bands b/c of my older brother. I actually had tickets to see them on their reunion tour with cinderella in columbus oh but had to cancel b/c the lead singer of cinderella severed his vocal cords. It ended up being great white and ratt on that date. Which was still a bad ass show. R.I.P. Jani ur missed by warrant and music fans everywhere

10 Years ago today, HEAVEN gained the most amazing Angel. And the world lost one of the most talented, beautiful, sweetest souls in rock. Do you ever have that moment in life when you wish you could bring someone down from HEAVEN, spend one more day with them, hear their voice just one more time, and tell them just how much they meant to you and how they made you smile? You are terribly missed Jani, by everyone. Rock the roof off up there!

My mom met Jani at Hammerjacks in Baltimore, MD. She was sitting at a table with her friends when he walked by and accidentally spilled his drink on her. He felt so horrible and kept apologizing over and over. My nom smiled and assured him that it was okay. He still felt so bad that he ordered her and her friends a bunch of drinks on the house. He then sat down and hung out with my mom for at least an hour. He treated her with such kindness and sincerity. She said he was a true gentleman and it was a magical night. This was back in the early 90s. She said he was the kindest, most compassionate, loving man with a great heart ♥️

Lyrics I've got a picture of your house And you're standing by the door. It's black and white and faded, And it's looking pretty worn. See the factory that I worked Silhouetted in the back. The memories are gray but man they're really coming back. I don't need to be the king of the world As long as i'm the hero of this little girl Heaven isn't too far away Closer to it everyday No matter what your friends might say How I love the way you move And the sparkle in your eyes There's a color deep inside them Like blue suburban skys When i come home late at night And you're in bed asleep I wrap my arms around you So I can feel you breathe I dont need to be a superman As long as you will always be my biggest fan Heaven isn't too far away Closer to it everyday (Ah, ah) No matter what your friends might say We'll find our way, yeah Now the lights are going out, Along the boulevard Memories come rushing back and makes it pretty hard I've got nowhere left to go And no one really cares I don't know what to do But I'm never giving up on you. Heaven isn't too far away Closer to it every day Ohhhh ohhh No matter what your friends say I know we're gonna find a way Heaven Whoah, oohh, ohhh Whoah, oohh, ohhh Heaven It's not too far away It's not too far away It's not too far away It's not too far away It's not too far away

This was my first concert, Thanksgiving 1988. I was 14 and 2 months old. They opened up for Motley Crue. I liked them too, but I went for Warrant! I had a crush on Jani! I was an Axl Rose girl though at heart! Named my dog after him. He lived 18 years!

Man I miss Janie Lane. I got to see them in Oakland City, Indiana. He put my buddies Kiss that on and sang a whole song. He also took a slug out of a bottle of whiskey and passed it to us. RATT, DOKKEN, ALICE COOPER, and WARRENT. It was one hell of a show that I will remember for the rest of my life!

Such a great vocalist and frontman. The 80s was the greatest decade for music, period, full stop. It is too bad Warrant just caught the tail end of it and battled grunge for as long as they could. Had they been just a few years earlier, I believe they would be remembered as among of the best bands of the "hair" era. We miss you Jani. Hope you are at peace.
