The Warre's book clearly explains the big error that is to open the hive, and the consequences that the drop in internal temperature has on bee health. Reading this book will be profitable for you. If you use beehives without windows, you must learn to observe bees, and weigh beehives. It is rather complex. It is more simple to use hives equipped with windows, which allow observation without opening or cooling the hive

Warre actually designed a feeder for those hives. You can get the plans off the internet. Look up David Heaf. He’s from the UK

I built some hives using the ECO Wood treatment seems like it'll be a good product. I found out you can use a water based paint pigment to add color to the solution,like a stain. I'm gona give colors a try my next go around, just though I'd mention. Ty for sharing your time, Blessed Days...

Hey DC thanks for the information. I didn't think about adding a pigment color to it. I thought about dipping them and then painting the front a color to help identify the hive. The treatment works well I have some boxes I did years ago still in use

How long had the bees been in there before you did this inspection? We just installed our very first bees in ours this week. How long should I wait before doing any inspecting?

We recommend 2 weeks before first inspection. Feed them as much as they will take so they will build. Then on the first inspection make sure to take a long knife with you. They often times secure the comb to the wall and its helpful to take a long knife and cut it away. I will have more videos on warre. But after install 2 weeks then start inspecting.

Where did you purchase the Warre hives?

I'm not sure. I will see if I still have the info for the person who built them for us. I know one came from a company called bee built but they are no longer in business

Too fragile, no way to harvest without taking the comb, just not for me

I enjoy them. That's correct they are fragile. We usually sell them by the whole comb for chefs or party events. I enjoy messing with all the different types of hives. There are so many around. My daughter really likes warre hives
