I first became aware of him when I saw a re-release of Bonnie and Clyde, in the early 1970's,when I was 12.I probably was attracted to him, yet didn't realize it .I saw some of his other movies, and he downplayed his good look. I think he was shy and self-conscious about them, and wanted to be known for his acting. I think other contemporary handsome male stars had similar problems. he has directed and produced. H finally got married to a wonderful woman and actress. they have 4 kids.
