After selling a couple of houses in 2020, I'm hoping for a housing crisis in order to buy cheaply. I've been thinking about buying stocks as a backup plan. What are your recommendations for the best time to buy? On the one hand, I keep reading about traders making over $500k per week. On the other hand, I keep hearing that the market has gotten out of hand and is in the midst of a dead cat bounce. What causes this to happen?

The fact that the US stock market had been on its longest bull run ever makes the widespread worry and enthusiasm understandable given that we are not used to such unstable markets. 456inthemix Buffet is just a rare breed that hates spending money. His kids grew up not knowing they were rich. Not because of him trying to hid the greed of money from his kids, but just because they don't spend money. Nothing wrong with "showing off" I mean if you can afford a big house, why not? Lots of perks having one. You can have your own gym, Library, game room, pool, movie theater and so on in the house. Depends if you want that or not. And if they're interested in cars and have the money, how is buying a nice car "showing off?" How is any of it showing off? They worked hard for their money and can buy whatever they want with it. Buffet just hordes his money, which nothing wrong with that either.
