These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I have about $89k now to put in the market.

Understanding personal finances and investing will most likely lead to greater financial independence. By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money. I know someone who made over $350k in this recession influenced market, but to the best of my knowledge, it was through a financial advisor.

Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $21k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

The stock markets dividends motivated me to start investing. What counts in my opinion is that you will be able to live off dividends without selling if you invest and make more money in addition to payouts. It suggests that you can give your children that advantage giving them a head start in life. I’ve invested more than $400k throughout the years in dividends stocks, I’m still buying more today and will keep doing so until the price drops even further.

Investment is a fabulous way to save money for the future as well as a way to generate passive income. Those who make poor mistakes early in life regret them later in life. But, if done alone, investing may be challenging and risky. For this reason, I suggest consulting experts for advice (financial advisors). The difficulty lies in effectively employing it, not just watching videos and reading investing books.

I've owned over 75 vehicles in my life and only 4 were brand new. Usually paid cash for the used ones. I recycle my electronics until they absolutely can't keep up with newer models and then go get another more powerful used one. Shop at consignment or thrift or vintage stores. People get rid of clothes with tags on them. My house was just right for over 15 years, then didn't need all that and got free of that ownership, etc... Freedom is the key here.

This is good advise and my wife and I use a lot of these ideals. However, coming from Warren Buffett they are a little insincere. For example, he doesn't need a car since he travels everywhere in a Limo and flies in a private jet. His primary residence may be old but considering he has vacation homes all over the world how often does he use it. So this brings up the old saying, do as I say not as I do.😊

If you ever find yourself unemployed, do your own work to improve your situation or estate. For example, I haven’t had a “ job” in many years, but every day I go out and do several hours of labour on my hobby farm. I propagate nopal and other edible cacti, build fenced vegetable garden areas, chicken pens, fences, improve my landscape level (agricultural) rainwater catchment, plant ornamental gardens, make compost and plant fruit trees, among other tasks. Sometimes, when friends haven’t visited me in a while, they say “Wow, your place looks different, you’ve done so much to the place!” And I guess I have…. In addition to the psychological and physical benefits of farm labour, I am putting in food systems that mean I will never starve in the future, catchment and irrigation systems that almost run themselves and all of the above means that no matter what happens, I’ll always be okay. As for my domestic water and electricity systems? They were built almost 10 years ago… If everyone did this, imagine what a different world it would be!

Enough with the 1958 home. Buffett owns multi million dollar mansions and estates all over the world. He keeps the old place because he doesn’t want to waste time packing, and he likes the smell.

It's incredible to see how one person's frugal habits can inspire so many others to live a more simple and fulfilling life. Warren Buffett is a prime example of this, as he has amassed a fortune of over $80 billion through smart investments and a frugal lifestyle.

It's pretend poverty. This happens with very rich people, they like to play "poor" Marie Antoinette had a hermits cottage built near the castle of Versailles, so she could play play the peasant.

Yes and at the end of the story Scrooge gave a good portion of his fortune to charities and the poor. Also, there are people, such as myself, who find frugal habits fun, like a game. It doesn't matter how much money I have, I'm always trying to see how much I can reduce my spending on any particular item. Its not pretend poverty. For some people, it's just a part of who they are!

One way to avoid bad clothing, is to learn to sew, then you will know quality when you see it, plus you can mend and repurpose items. When it comes to a house renovation is often better than modernisation. A good fridge and freezer can last up to forty years. In the UK stores have discount loyality cards, similar to coupon clipping, because some offer temporary paper coupons and others give you reduced prices on the shelf.

I had a McDonald's hamburger once - it was absolutely ghastly! Why they are so popular is completely beyond me except that most people must be used to terrible food. Rich or poor home cooking and snacks are far superior. If I am out (which isn't often because I live in a rural area), a croissant with ham and cheese is a far better alternative, even if it costs more! IMO

Fast food does taste terrible and you become hungry again much sooner. Most women where I work do not know how to cook so they buy fast food or reheat readymade meals which also taste terrible. I think that they eat a lot of bad tasting food and don't know how delicious home cooked food really is

Warren Buffet always had his breakfast at McDonald's. He has a McDonald's card that allows him to eat for free at any of the fast food chain's Omaha restaurants.

People who are frugal for most of their lives do not suddenly change in their twilight years. People just keep doing what they've always done, so it's not surprising that Buffett is still frugal even though he doesn't have to be. Human beings are creatures of habit, whether those habits are good or bad.

I'd rather be broke than eat at McDonald's! But frankly, I can buy a dozen eggs and eat breakfast all week for not much more than a single egg Mcmuffin costs! As for a career you love? I loved mine, for about the first six or eight years! But doing anything over and over for decades gets old and tedious, even if you initially loved it!

WB earns at least $250/second in interest on his wealth in an average year. He literally could not fetch his paltry McDonald’s coupon from his pocket and then wait for it to be scanned without wasting time worth several orders of magnitude more than the coupon is worth! 😅

For number three, if you are someone who is constantly borrowing from other people because you don't want to spend your money, you're just putting your burden on the other person to pay your way, unless of course the borrowing is reciprocal. If it is not, then you are one of those people that give "being cheap" a bad name. People like that are best avoided.

It's rather simple. His wealth provides him with options. People who don't have money do not have flexibility in their lives nor the ability to weather economic shocks, such as job loss, illness, natural disasters and the like without constant worry that they'll have a bed to sleep in. That's what truly wealthy people understand that fake rich do not.

One of my favourite bits of Buffet advice was to only invest in companies an idiot could run because sooner or later one will. To not buy flash cars is a very good one too. Its actually quite a good feeling having something unpretentious and frugal that does the job.
