Here is what is stupid about this hearing.. There would not need to be a raise in the debt limit if corporations and the wealthy paid their equal share in taxes. The only reason we have debt is because that debt is to prop up the social services and running of this country, so we can have multibillion dollar corporations and wealthy. Don't get is twisted, we don't have nice things, like free education and healthcare or a place, food and security in this country so rich people can get richer.. The wealthy have put this country at risk, by making our government take on debt so they don't have to pay taxes.. The downfall of the US is due to rich people and corporations..

Actually look at history when government does actually what you want, nothing good comes of it. Free healthcare means long lines and purposely delaying expensive procedures, we have plenty of nice things that its that hard to get, unless we have high inflation which was caused by government fools. Does the U.S have a massive starvation problem with people dying left and right in the streets.....Nope, only cities having massive amount of problems, is demarat cities who are pretty quick to clean up when a communist dictator comes to visit. the downfall of the U.S. isn't going to be from capitalism, its from fools who in the name of socialism gives all the power to the 1 percent, and then acts dumb when it completely backfires.

Fairness matters. Working people are sick and tired of being used and exploited to make a small number of people more and more wealthy, while we worry about the basics, and some of us (even with health insurance) go broke due to medical debt. Bessent’s arrogance was disgusting. And how can it be “our money” when the rich aren’t paying their fair share of taxes? It’s the money of ordinary people who pay MORE than their fair share.

For a rich person, proportionally 25% doesn’t mean they end up living on the edge of survival, whereas for the working-poor, 13% does mean living hand-to-mouth, or worse. Bezos, for example, could pay his warehouse workers a lot more, and that money would go straight back into the economy in terms of people buying goods and services. But let’s all feel sad and worried for the billionaires.
