Warrior 175 vs Raider 18 - Southampton Boat Show

Here you’ll find some still images of the warrior 175 and the Raider 18 from the Southampton Boat show 2021.

what is the length and width of berth ? i mean berth next to the engine ...please let me know

The Raider 18 Cuddy has more deck space and freeboard than the Warrior 175. It has better fuel economy too. Warrior do not make this model in their range, probably because they want to encourage customers to buy their 165 and 175 instead. The 175 is still the more superior boat I believe. I have a Raider 18 Cuddy myself. The Raider is a lighter boat than the 175. The Raider performs very well in choppy seas, has great fuel economy, high freeboard and very stable at anchor with very little lean. Being lighter than the 175 however, gives the 175 the edge when ploughing into big waves. The 175 tends to portpoise when moving, but this helps to keep the nose down in rough weather. The Warrior also has a better finish with internal fuel tank, self draining deck and deck cupboards to help with storage. Both are excellent boats. For me, fuel economy is a huge factor.

I have to say I do like the raider cuddy. Looks a cracking boat. It’s whatever works for you I suppose.

@@123brakey As I say, I think the Warrior 175 is a superior boat overall, but fuel cost are starting to determine what you a can actually do in your boat and how often, more and more these days. Fuel costs are a very important factor in how often I can justify going out in my boat. The Raider 18 Cuddy excels with an 80HP 4-stroke on it. You get a whole lot of boat performance for very good economy. Deck space is unmatched too.

@@thedirtyfecker I agree regarding fuel, it’s not a cheap day out this boating malarkey is it!! I’m very biased having been a Warrior 175 owner. I’ve always liked the look of the cuddy though. Just never thought about buying one as the 175 was everything I’ve wanted from a small boat. Admittedly the 175 rolls a lot and that’s it’s downfall but that’s the shape of the hull. Other than that it’s a BEAST with a good engine on the back.

@@123brakey Yes, it is a beast. They are very pricey though, especially these days. You won't have much change out of 30 grand! I see boats have become a lot more expensive in the past 10 years or so. If I were advising someone who was considering buying a Warrior I would tell them to have a long look at the Bayliner Trophy 1802 before buying it. The Trophy boats are American built and legendary performers in the sea. Being American, like most things they do, they tend to be over engineered and so they are a heavy boat, but with a modern four stroke it might make a massive difference. They have about the same amount of deck space as the 175 with a walk around design and perform very well in a rough sea. I am not sure If you could get away with a roller coaster trailer on one though. I think they sit on the keel, so retrieving might be more difficult. Excellent boats though. I have been out on the 18 and the 25 ft. The sea just gets out of the way... :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2TGiIaKndyMotE
