The quick release tab is meant to be used for situations when you have a helmet on or head gear, you release the buckle and remove the left cumberbun and don/doff on one side without having to remove whats on your head.

These are standard hard armour covers for Sussex and Surrey TFU officers - great bit of kit!

I'm sure someone already pointed this out, but the quick release buckle on the shoulder is so that a medic or someone else could remove the vest without needing to remove your helmet. All they have to do after they release the buckle is open the left hand side cummerbund and slide it off the right side, OR fold it to the right side so they can do first aid or whatever they need to do. I'm sure someone's already pointed that out, but if not - there ya go. Nice review! :)

Yes m8 the Quick Release buckle was put in place to allow the rig to be taken off a injured soldier so that it wasn't lifted over the helmet or any head injuries. This was asked for by the service personnel who they asked when designing the vest.

well i donate around twice a year to our forces and to the air ambulance, i did my training to be an army front line medic, i did the 6 week course, but i dropped out as my daughter was born, and i couldnt stand to be away from her or my wife. i didnt have the balls what it took to be a soldier and im ashamed of it, hopefully i will be able to get into a military rehabilitation facilityand help our wounded soon

Chris, I just purchased and received this carrier based on your review and wanted to say thanks, it rocks! Your review was bang on in every respect. This is the ONLY carrier I found offered in ATACS-FG and is compact and appears to be of excellent quality. Warrior Assault Systems is UK based, but here in The States, GearZone Tactical is an authorized reseller and carries their full line. They shipped quickly and for free. Keep up the great reviews.

How is holding up?
@CKinnerley11 жыл бұрын
Long as you don't bridge pouches between the front opening flap and the cummerbund it's fine, no more difficult than any other PC of a similar design (which is most of them out there). I'd go for a chest rig over a PC if you primarily want easy on/off, something with buckles or a zip right in front.
@CKinnerley12 жыл бұрын
True, but my main criticism is that if you have to remove half the cummerbund, it's not actually a very 'quick' release you know?
@CKinnerley11 жыл бұрын
Came as part of the purchase of the carrier. Check the description on the site, they may have updated the design to not include the pouches. If they're supposed to be there, ring UK Tac.
@CKinnerley12 жыл бұрын
Long as you're not mega skinny yeah. It's fairly small in the vertical dimension but I'm 5'11" and a fairly thin bloke and I have to adjust it right down to the minimum setting to get a snug fit.

@airsoftjuncky Warrior is pretty much a UK/Europe specific brand mate, given the number of gear stores in the US I wouldn't go importing kit from Britain, that'll cost you a lot in shipping.
@dave38x11 жыл бұрын
Fantastic review Chris, I'm in the market for a new carrier/rig and this one does look rather good. How easy is it to open up when you've got pouches hanging off it everywhere? I imagine it could get fiddly, which is my main reservation about going for a plate carrier over a chest rig. Re: the quick release - I think it's primarily intended for easy removal of the carrier from you whilst your on a stretcher - medics can pop the strap and the rig doesn't have to be pulled over your head
@CKinnerley12 жыл бұрын
Yep, makes sense. I wouldn't call it a 'quick release' exactly as the manufacturer does, but you're quite right in what you say.

Hey CKinnerley! First of all: I enjoyed this Video and it answered me some questions. Good work! But i still have an open question: What can you tell me about the size? Because i am in the decision to buy this vest but i dont totally get the size of the front and back panel. Im not a small person (185cm tall, 95 kilos) with a wide chest and this vest seems very small to me. I am worried about a silly impression with a small vest on wide chest. I hope you can grant me that request!
@CKinnerley11 жыл бұрын
I'm about a 30" waist, just small enough for me. The UK Tac website is still there, same as ever.

@ThePurcy Way forward I reckon mate. All the load carrying space, far less bulk and weight.

@CKinnerley12 жыл бұрын
Just the front closure flap? It's 3 mag pouches wide, so you can get 6 on easily by stacking 2 layers; then put another double pouch just off to the left side, they'd all be easy to reach.

Hi CK, Ed from AF-UK. Money no object... This, or the Osprey MkIV and why? Your personal preference. Pros and cons etc. Also, I've been thinking of getting this if I can't get an Osprey (I'm going for Brit kit authenticity otherwise I'd just get this, unless there's something better?) but it doesn't look like it could hold that many magazines. I'd like to get 8 to 12, but keep it low profile... Is that possible? Thinking of getting a belt rig to go with it too, any recommendations?

@CKinnerley13 жыл бұрын
@TheTpd3 To be honest, nowhere yet. They're fun for target shooting and making videos, but they're not very practical to skirmish. You need to carry loads of mags and they weigh a ton and leak a lot, so I stick to my TM EBB M4s when I play usually. As for skirmishing in general, I play at X-Site 'Lane end' and 'The outpost' when I'm at home, which are both just outside the M25, north-west of london, also at a couple of sites near to Thetford in Suffolk when I'm here on the base.
@CKinnerley13 жыл бұрын
@DasCraveDing As I mentioned in the video, it's pretty compact, extremely similar to the Crye JPC. I'm about 181cm and 70kg, fits me great but it will look fairly small on someone like you. That's not necessarily a problem, because I've seen pics of the real guys using JPCs etc and it's perfectly normal, but compared to big bulky armour carriers of-old like the CIRAS or IOTV, this style of PC does look very different.

@killinghero That aimed at me? If so, I haven't touched a piece of Viper gear in about 7 years. Warrior kit gets used by a lot of Army lads out in afghan and stands up to it brilliantly, quality wise it's about 100 levels above anything viper chucks out. If there's one fact I can assure you on my friend it's that nothing made by Viper even gets close to Warrior. The fact they might cost the same just indicates that the Viper kit is a rip-off by comparison.

REMF Tacticool I think meetmyballs is referring to firearms ownership in the UK and self defense in general will land you in jail with any type of defensive tool or weapon.
@CKinnerley8 жыл бұрын
Well, that'd would be an incorrect assumption. Yes our laws aren't as good in that area as the US, but the law simply states force used has to be proportional to the threat. If someone is locked up for stabbing/bashing an assailant trying to kill or seriously harm that person, then the law was not correctly applied.

Do you think this can properly fit a guy who is 6'3" and 240 pounds? Or it will just look funny on me?
@CKinnerley10 жыл бұрын
It's smaller than an armour carrier like the IOTV since it just hold plates, but it's around the size of a PC designed for a Large SAPI (roughly) so you'd have to decide on that really. It will be fairly small on you but then these rigs are designed to be that way (similar to the Crye JPC etc).
@geogeo2001us10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. I understand that this is not near IOTV or CIRAS but can you give me a rough measurements of the front panel?

@CKinnerley12 жыл бұрын
There' infantry guys using these in Afghan instead of Osprey (not that many, but some), so hopefully that kills a couple of birds with one stone. You'll be able to put 10 mags (for example) at the front yeah, long as they're staked 2 deep. Only a mega fat dude would be able to put that many up front and only use single mag pouches, that's almost entirely down to your size not the actual PC you wear.
