Honestly been really enjoying the channel! and figured I would share just a little anecdote of a game I had last night with the detachment! Using a decent few command points, I had some ranged warriors with a neurotyrant do honestly very well against my space marine adversary. With the +1 to hit, as well as Spontaneous hyper corrosion, the ranged warriors were melting space marines like nothing. Especially since most of the load out I had, at that point, was wounding on 2+. In combo with the hive tyrant, it was just a good time for shooting phase! When my opponents turn came around and he wanted to get rid of that warrior squad? Between the 5+ invuln and Synaptic Shield? It took my opponents whole army to take them down. I still lost the game, I'm not the best, but I just thought they were shockingly tough to chew through! Again, obviously dice played a large part in this, but as it stands I really enjoyed using the detachment, and the only thing holding it back is my lack of warrior numbers lol. I am wondering if there is a way to make this detachment suitable for some decent comp play though. Considering running this in a RTT coming up,

An important thing to note with the synaptic amp strat is that it isn't locked to only warriors. You can use the reroll1s to wound on any body. It just is stronger if you do pick a warrior.

Ran it last night 1500pts into my friemds world eaters and its fun, I think the detachment has legs, if the Dec slate is nice to us I may brew a list for a teams tourney in April.

Sweet! I think we’re probably safe for this data slate. I don’t expect buffs, but I don’t think we’ll be getting nerfs. Who knows though, they do crazy things sometimes!

Spontaneous is nice, but it's weird that it only adds +1 strength to Warriors specifically in melee, and it's activated separately in the shooting phase and the fight phase. But, if you like S7 warriors, and sticky objectives? Assimilation has an enhancement which grants +1S, and after you kill something in melee, also +1A. Plus stratagem for sticky objectives. Plus ability to respawn warriors. No OC3 Battleline warriors, unfortunately.

Great video. Don't believe the gargoyles get the 5++ though. The wording is subtle but there is a difference. Winged Tyranid Prime units means the WTP itself gets it. If the wording was "Winged Tyranid Prime's unit" then it would pass onto the gargoyles.

They do get the 5++ since it says unit, "Winged tyranid prime" is a keyword that's shared with the unit he joins. If it said Winged tyranid prime MODEL then it would not work because the individual gargoyle models doesn't get this keyword. This is the same mechanic that allows warriors to become vanguard invaders in that detachment when a prime joins them.

Yep, it’s definitely not for everyone. I think it’s a fun change, but I probably won’t be buying anymore warriors to run it.
