Have both a Tacks 910 and a 710. Though the insides look quite different they are both comfortable models. The 910 combo comes with a better cage. VT has ranked both near the bottom of their safety ratings. Personally i have not compared it to any of the higher safety rated helmets. Made my purchase much like you based on fit and comfort. Use: full checking league.

@@etp7268 yeah I’m not super into the stats of a helmet for it’s ratings. I’m sure there’s some science behind it but in the end it’s going to prevent injury if you were to smack your head so the other 99% I really want it to be comfortable.

The ReAkt 150 is even better than the 710. More comfortable, lighter, and more protective. Both are great tho.

I would take the VT results with a grain of salt. It's the head shape. Look at the top helmet, ReAkt 200 and FL500. Both of them have a very oval head shape, whereas the bottom helmet, the Super Tacks X and Tacks 910, have a much more round shape. It shows how important fit is.

you should try the alpha one pro helmet, it wont fall apart like this, i can confirm as i use the alpha one pro, its very well built and comfortable

I would also say it's one of the widest helmets I've ever tried. So if you have an absurdly wide head like I do this might be the helmet for you.

Have you tried out the Re-akt 85 yet? I have a CCM Tacks 110 that's super light and worked better for me thank the Re-akt 200 or the Bauer Hyperlite. Gonna pick a new one up and hoping to try the Warrior, the Re-akt 85 and the CCM tacks 310.

Thanks. It’s expensive lol but in the end if you buy them and love using them have it and enjoy yourself. Just make it fun and be honest. Industry has lot of channels that add no value at all

Great looking helmet! My son wears the reakt 150 as do I, it’s super comfortable but he complains about pain on the sides of his head. May look for a wider fitting helmet for him. What mouth guard do you wear? I’ve tried like three and can’t find one I like. I have bad gag reflux.

My last reakt was the 200 and I didn’t like it same issue pain on my temples. I have an under armour mouth guard. Nothing crazy. But once fitted save me a few times.

Recently got the ultrasonic skates and I normally wear my shinguards over the tongue of my skates but theses are extremely uncomfortable worn this way...does this tongue soften up eventually ?

I had the Warrior Alpha One Pro helmet and it lasted a couple months before all the internal liners started falling out due to bad adhesive. So I sold that helmet and the warranty replacement. I have tried on over 20 helmets and none fit like my old CCM FL90 one. Any recommendations on good new helmets? Thanks

My favourite affordable helmet is the ReAkt 150. It fits almost every head, is super comfortable, protective, and light.

@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews I've tried on all the ReAkts (and the IMS 9.0), Super Tacks X, Tacks 710 an d 910, Warrior Alphas, and the Hyperlite, and the Super Tacks X was the most comfortable, but the ReAkt 150 was really close. Far more comfortable than any of Bauer's previous helmet offerings. The really only reason I got the 150 over the Super Tacks X is because it was half the price lol.

Warrior has an adhesive padding issue…. Same thing happened to my alpha one after about a year of beer league. Im a sweater but still not acceptable

Yeah I gave up on this helmet as the pads are brutal. Light and comfy but all the pads are junk

That pad coming loose is caused by humidity! 😛 But, probably just a one-off manufacture defect (not enough glue applied). Warrior says to bake at 200F/95C for 5 minutes, then reinsert and place on head until the pads cool. They may have not had the skate oven set high enough. What did you spay in there to re-affix the pad? As an aside, don't use glue gun glue (in the sticks) to re-affix helmet pads. Seems to work great for a while, then the glue will break down and start getting in your hair ... ask me how I know. It will be interesting to see how the CF100 stacks up if/when Virginia Tech tests it.

Yes I noticed they haven’t tested it yet. I used gorilla glue and then adhesive spring since the glue didn’t hold well. It sits right now

Ok lets just start by saying to me this would fall in the "mid range" category. Not pro level gear but still something you can be happy about and have for a while. I was at pro hockey today and was trying everything on and let me say this unit completely surprised me! For the price range anyways. Warrior would have been my last choice brand wise but I honestly think I'm gonna pick this up before hockey starts back up. Comfortability of Bauer, CCM, Warrior I give the absolute slightest edge to CCM but I think the helmet was also newer so hense the better tech. Warrior is a very close second. As far as appearance I think warrior is the nicest with CCM as a very close second. Of course personal preference but I found the Bauers hideous. And as far as the adjustment features go I preferred Warrior if im being honest. Simple and too the point. The other helmets had weird little cheap feeling knobs and I just wasn't feeling it. Maybe if you go pro level helmets the champ changes but I think in the $200CAD range this helmet beats competitors!

I still wear it. I was mostly disappointed in the molded pads not really moulding. Overall the helmet is still decent minus that and pads not staying ( had to glue them all now since this review)

I got the Re akt 150 and love it. I wear glasses on the ice and the extra tabs for adjustment on the back of the helmet make putting it on over my glasses a cake walk.
