If you have a stable frontliner, I think it is very powerful because you can safely support him from the rear with fright. If you are an individual or a frontliner, you need to make good use of the special key. In that case, I think some technique is needed. I think the damage of single hit is perfect. That's my impression. I don't know yet either.

Honestly, the only thing about this weapon brings to the table is that the explosion looks cool and its dash. Allows you to move around the map a lot quicker and bridge gaps. For combat it is obsolete next to his other weapons.

It uses special attack button you can change it in keybind. It uses is storing charge attack instead of long ass charge time. There is no movement penalty when charging this way so you can just charge while not in fight

How do you control the hammer and tome so that it can do smash or charge? It just so random for me.

The charge is when you hold the first hit in the chain, the smash is holding any hit after the first. Like how all weapons behave based on which attack in the chain you hold. You can also charge the tome by holding the special key or holding an attack, and releasing a held attack early will still save the charge progress in the tome. If you have a full charge in the tome, the next held attack will be fully charged regardless of how long you held it. You can also cancel and save your charge if you block while holding.

As I understand, the 25% Stagger bonus is situational (allows specific weapons to stagger specific enemies that'd be otherwise unstaggerable in specific cases - can either be perfectly useless or very useful, but it's a rollercoaster). 35% crit damage is apparently quite useless due to how the crit damage is calculated in the game. I don't know specifics, so you'd have to read up on your own, but the calculation is odd and that "35%" is much, much less in actuality. So the 15% health is just a moderately useful buff that allows you to tank an extra hit or so (which can prove life-saving when you're holding out for your ult to charge).

I noticed with tome and hammer the 2nd charged heavy, (over head), has a similar profile to flaming flails over head and that it struggles hard against chaff/hordes. Best to keep HGH or the new flail and shield to swap to.Also flail and shield is busted, you can flat out bully SV patrols no problem with heavys.

I always really liked the 1h hammer/mace and I think it does not get the props it deserves. Super versetile against hordes and elites, struggles against monsters but so does all the warrior priest's weapons.

Victor DEFINITELY lacks the skill for movement speed, like Kruber the Grail Knight. As a character without a long-range weapon, he has nothing to compensate for the speed of approaching (or moving away from) a special enemy. Sometimes the hammer and tome strafe cannot be used in critical situations. Hopefully the developers will add this feature as a passive skill.
