been playing cvs for 5 years, i didn't know about healing vs fighters, what an awesome tip, just subscribed.

but that makes me question how do fighters work, I thought they always killed at least 1 plane for each fighter in the squadron.

Welcome! I can't find the video that explained it very well but essentially you'll see that the best counter to fighters is your invincibility time followed immediately with the heal as fighters stay latched for a limited amount of time. So, one might argue that as your doing first drop on a ship with deployed fighters, you want to slow down when your within 3.5 km so the fighter has time to latch. That way you can have it start shooting your planes as they're invincible, then you pop the heal. You'll see I made a kaga heal testing video before that shows you can do it, along with other vids.
