what I do is to steal skill books and recipes, even if i get 500 suspicius lvl it is cheaper to pay the bounty to guards after u read the thing than just buy all of those

Haha, nice. I've actually been stealing a few of those skill books myself. It's not a bad way to add some sweet skills to party members. You make an excellent point as well, even if you get caught by the guards the fine is cheaper than the books themselves. Thanks for the comment @Zod Yeral.

Should also mention that turning in prisoners reduces your wanted level.

@Chris F For sure, this was actually one of the first things that crossed my mind after posting the video. I totally forgot about it. I'm planning to do a follow up video covering the items I like to steal once the thief has gained a few levels.

Stealing feels kinda OP, I sold X numbers for Ruby / Sapphire and then I restole them, after I cleaned the goods I did it again. And the penatly for that was to pay like 20 gold to the cops... So if you want infinite money that is one way of doing it

Does removing items amd equip them between rests change the Laundering Rate? Or must they stay in continuously until "clean"?

That's a good question @lukej. I'm not entirely sure. My guess is that the items need to stay continuously in the camp chest until they're clean. I believe there is some randomness to it as well. For example, every rest there is a certain percentage chance for each item that it will become clean.

@@OttoResolve cheers - I ask I had a some awesome "stolen gear" and was captured by the Gaurd after cycling into the chest for 6 rest :( Since I've kept items in chest till clean. I've discovered many systems are chance based so I'd not be surprised if this was the case

how does the chest actually work? i've kept some stolen goods in it with thief asigned for a few rests but nothing happened

@birdof hermes It does take a few rests with a thief assigned to the chest before the goods are laundered. I'm not sure exactly how it works, it may be that the more valuable the item, the longer it takes to launder. However, I don't usually put a high priority on the chest because early game I'm most doing petty thefts for items I can consume quickly, thus not needing to launder them. I hope this is helpful.

It's a %chance, majored by the skill if you upgrade your job. And it's not depending of the objects. A stack can become white whatever it is. I.e. i robbed all my skill books never bough one, and if i don't use them on the moment i place them in the chest. And they become ''clean''

@Aurelien P. Cheers, thanks, good to know. I've been stealing some skill books in one of my campaigns myself. Is there any advantage to placing them in the chest and "cleaning" them before using? I usually just use them right away to take advantage of the skill and to get rid of the stolen item.

@@OttoResolve use them when you can, if all skills are upgraded before next lvl place them in the chest. And when you use them, talk to the guard, clean your suspicion, and steal anothers! I've got 15 in my chest waiting the next lvl. Good to know that is a stack that clean. Do if you have 20 books stolen you have a chance that ALL your 20 books become white items

So if I have a suspicion level above 100, can I just pay off some guards? Or do I have to constantly fight them?

Every time you fight the guards your suspicion level rises by 100 I believe. In my experience fighting the guards leads to perpetually rising suspicion. Also, the guards often bring in reinforcements, making them exceedingly difficult to defeat in battle. My advice is to stay clear of the guards completely if your suspicion is above 100. The run trait is helpful for this. Your suspicion will slowly go down over time. Once it drops back to the 50 range the guards will get board of looking for you. I find I often get this message when I'm visiting town. You can also lower your suspicion by delivering bandits to the prison. And get a modest reward to boot. Also, and this is very important, make sure that when you encamp with a suspicion level of 100 or above that there are no guards anywhere in sight because if there are guards nearby your danger level while resting will increase. Best to stay off the road. Forests are good hiding spots. Anyway. I hope this is helpful. Best of luck in you criminal ventures. Thanks for the comment.

High rank with suspicious brings +20% move speed in the forest, and +5%/rank for the attack on the back. I try to stay everytim 400+ for those reasons

@Aurelien P. Damn, those are some nice bonuses. I'll have to play a campaign with 400+ suspicion. Avoiding the guards the whole time has gotta make things interesting.
