After a few unsuccessful attempts, the He-177 Greif took to the skies on November 19, 1939.

Greif was German for Griffon so I remember from another channel and given that the two common engines shared one nacelle they couldn’t be cooled properly nor could the gearing that allowed both to turn one propeller shaft. As if that wasn’t bad enough I believe there weee parts made out of magnesium which turned the engine into an uncontrollable fire when it lit.

When I googled a bit about the HS 293 it was written it actually had an explosive mass of 295kg on multiple websites not 220kg as it is in game. I even saw sources where it mentioned it was filled with Trialen 105 which would result even in a higher explosive mass. However the type of filler ig is ok, but the 220kg I cant explain where it comes from. It feels like Gaijin nerfed it already and in testbattle the Hs 293 cant even destroy a destroyer with a direct hit. As its main purpose was sinking ships this is really underwhelming.

After great success with the Ju 87 at the beginning of the war, the Reich Aviation Ministry ordered that all new bombers and attack aircraft should be capable of dive fighting - not just individual models specialized for this purpose. This caused numerous difficulties, especially when developing large aircraft such as bombers, and resulted in many technical problems. Nevertheless, Göring's ministry stuck to its order.

Personally I think in many ways the 177 could have been a very good Bomber for the Luftwaffe, but as I've often found out when I researched the aircraft it had such a reputation that some air cruise pretty much refused to even go anywhere near it the he177 had such a reputation, I think if the me-264 went into service I think it have been a much more successful bomber do to having world longer Range and better offensive Armament, (and I know this is a bit off topic but when can we expect the ju388 bomber version? since I think that would actually be an interesting aircraft to have in the Tech tree)
