Entirely wrong. Japanese soil is soft, giving a tank more than the armor then they needed to maneuver around the soft Japanese soil. My appreciation for the Japanese tech tree comes in the form of, as the gamer world says, 'git gud'. They're almost always the underdogs in any fight, with layouts that tend to make the crew highly susceptible to being wiped out in a single hit, generally longer reloads than opponents with similar firepower, and significantly less effective armor in most circumstances. Soldiering through this tech tree forced me to learn to outmaneuver, out-think, and learn to make suspension-based shots on the move, as well as needing to rapidly learn the maps themselves, where to hit targets, and how to make as innocuous a target of myself as possible. All these lessons meant that, the first time I used a stock Sherman tank with its stabilizer, generally reliable gun and armor and decent gun, I took home seventeen kills for the loss of one crewman. The short version: If you play Japan, you'll learn to respect the strengths of your opponents, to anticipate being knocked out in a single hit, and generally speaking you will find yourself performing far better when you jump into more superior vehicles in other tech trees with the skills and tactics you learned here. The Japanese tech tree is not beginner friendly, but it's still the place I'd recommend beginners to start, because you'll learn so much more about how to play from them than the Shermans, KV-1s and Tigers that basically hold your hand for you. Dark Souls is hard, yes, but you emerge from it victorious and all the more skilled at the end because of that difficulty; the same goes for the Japanese tanks.
@kenny.-.90873 жыл бұрын
Yes. I originally played American tanks and stopped at rank 6.0 br because it was so hard. Then I played Japan for a year, struggled, but learned, and now I’m at 9.7. American tanks are so simple and easy to use now, and I get my kills and survive really easily by using the skills I learned with Japan. And for that, I am thankful to be a far more better player than I was. It makes me mad when people say “Germany suffers” and blames the tanks. No, the players are just bad because they rely on the tanks instead of their own skills to succeed.
@fusososososo35073 жыл бұрын
@@kenny.-.9087 I played with russians till 4.3 and I'm playing with germans already at 4.0, a difference that i noticed between germans and russians is that germany has a lack of well protected vehicles before tigers and panthers, but they also have great cannons, so what's the point of these players saying that germany suffers?

Japanese tank development was surprisingly advanced during the interwar period, sporting some of the most successful designs of that period. Once WW2 began however, the post-Nonmonhan era Japanese army budget for steel and the refocused efforts into the “southern strike” doctrine meant the IJA’s armoured developments were amputated. Japanese armour legacy is the consequence of early potential that was cut short by war demands and limited resources.

I play the Japanese tech tree as my main since I'm very interested with the Type 90. At first it was really hard since they are not as strong compared to other nations. However when you get used to and know how to play them, they're really good. Plus since its quite hard to play, it thought me to be more careful, be wise on how I go about the battlefield. I do have to note that the Japanese ground forces do not have a comprehensive line up per match, so you have to arrange and use what you have. All in all its not super good or super bad, a challenging nation to play but when done right it is worthwhile, at least for me. Currently at rank V and grinding for Type 74.

The japanese armour is correct from a historical point of view, but the Br's for most tanks in the japanese tech-tree are to high in my opinion. I've grinded the japanese tanks untill the Type-90. The Br's are a mess when it comes to japanese tanks, most of the tanks should be lowered from a Br-point of view. Maybe a "sub-nation" (like south Afrika for brittain) could help Japan to be more interesting for players. All with all: the japanese tech-tree is fun but boring, you have no armour, no speed but a some-what decent gun. If you want to have a playstyle that is sitting in the corner of the map, hoping you won't get killed by a machine gun; take Japan. All with all, fun to play, but sometimes really frustrating and boring.

Japan is not really underrated, they really are the worst tanks and the underdog, but that's kind what makes them shine. If used properly, they can perform well, and they sure are rare in battles, not many people use them. From what I saw, the MBTs are Very strong, so I can't wait to get there, maybe in a few more months I will get all Japanese tanks unlocked and spaded, but fighting against them in top tier is quite scary with their 4 seconds reload. @@herrfingerknacks4970 Under current rules, once a half prototype has been built, it can now be put into the game. I'm not sher, but the O-I tank was built and used somewhere in China. There is very little information about the tank so it is also difficult to implement in the games.

From my experience, it's certainly a very fustrating tech tree to play. Your engine is like lawnmower, your armor is rice paper, and your cannons are a peashooter. Rank I is manageable, but Rank II to IV is utter hell to advance, especially when you have players taking potshots at you 800m+ away with you having no hopes to fire back. Urban maps also provides you no cover to speak of.

Especially when the Ha-Go has 30mm of Max pen while China gets the M8-LAC and its 50 cal with more pen, Sweden gets a lineup of 1.0s with rapid fire APDS, and Russia gets the BT-5 with its speed and greet gun. All share the same BR.

too underrated is the answer. sure its not tough. in my experience most of the time one stops you from moving,especialy in the open it tends to be time to commit seppuku. but when YOU end up striking first it is usually the same result as a katana slicing a cherry blossom. that is a good reason to play it out of the enemy sight until they are engaged with your team mates or don't see you at all. there was this one time i was lucky enough to be in a point with lots of rocks where the enemy could not see me from a distance using the Chi-He if i remember correctly (if not it is one of the same category in Japanese the tech tree.) the result was me see the enemy first an with my cannon closer to them and got kill after kill like this. as a sign note i adore the APHE shells.

I have a problem with grinding in war thunder. Why do we have to purchase previous vehicles that we don't want or won't play to get to the vehicles we want. I been playing war thunder since the beginning of 2017 and the grind is getting worse. I literally waste alot of lions purchasing vehicles I never play with just to get to the ones I want to play with. Can you make it where we don't have to purchase previous vehicles just to get to the vehicles we want. Can we research them, not purchase it and move on to the vehicles I battle and save lions for instead. This would save players time and money.
