Ww counterplay is kiting and stride covers that weakness best for first item along with tiamat for clear. Pairs well with on-hit or high damage builds since you actually reach them now and have another escape tool

you'd do more damage with lucid boots given the cooldown allows you to do more rotations of abilities in a fight and they are more gold efficient as a first boot buy. Defensive boots are even better for trading heavy if you know you will take damage.
