First Spector and now Warwick... you are really spoiling us. After playing many 'real' Warwick's for many years I have to say the Asian built models are great value. I even started to use them live.

Nice video!And I must say, I've been really impressed by rockbass brand-I had heard about it bad things about five years ago, but last year I've bought my Vampyre 5 string from local retailer. Sale price was around 266$. For that price I've got the sound and the feeling of high-end bass, I can't believe they've made it China!... The product is flawless- frets, finish, truss rod, electronics, and even straplocks installed. Damn, it is so good. A year have passed and I still can't believe they make such a good stuff even for entry-level. Really enjoy playing it.

Question for you bass gurus: I've got the Corvette $$ seen in this video. I love it, but I've heard conflicting things about upgrading/modifying the electronics. For me Warwicks have a really nice growl in the lower end and the tone sounds super unique. Even in their lower end instruments the build quality and tone are phenomenal. All of the hardware is fantastic imho. If you go up the higher end you get to stuff like their insane finishes which are truly that, their custom shop is the stuff of wonders. As far as feel goes my Warwick is perfectly balanced and it sits perfectly still while wearing a strap. The neck profile (mine is a 5-string) is also probably the best that I've played.
@yetanotherbassdude

I own a Streamer and, compared to Ibanez, Spector, and anything else I tried, the thing I loved most about all the Warwicks I tried was that they just sounded exactly how I wanted my bass to sound in my head, straight off the peg and with no adjustments to the EQ on the bass and the amp all set at 12 o'clock. EVERYTHING else I tried needed some tweaking to get it sounding right. They do also feel great to play and look lovely, which is great and all, but that sound was like nothing else. Perfect.

Imo the rockbass stuff doesn’t compare to the high end German stuff but they do make great backup basses for those of us who have a German Warwick and are plenty good enough for anyone playing at the local level. I’m a big fan of the thumb basses. I’m on my third one now.

I think I owe one comment to Warwick here. The PRC-built RockBass NT Streamer I bought a few months ago is just awful. Poor electronics - no-name preamp sizzling enourmously, had to first remove it, then replace with a proper Delano to get rid of the bloody noise. Neck luthiery poor, required serious correction. Fretwork awful, buzzing on literally all frets, required correction before getting any kind of reasonable playability. In general, luthiery details far from what you would expect in this price range. After all additional investments, one would get a good US-built Fender. So either Warwick ships particularly bad copies of their RBs to Poland while the rest of the world gets the good stuff :-), or... the "W" on the headstock is just misleading and is nowhere near any kind of reasonable quality for the price.

You guys work in the industry and don't know the history of Spector and Hans Peter Wilfer (Warwick)? I find that odd! Spector (Ned Steinberger) created the original NS curved shape...Hans Peter ripped them off completely and when confronted by Stuart and Ned agreed to pay a licensing fee. When Spector sold to Kramer, that agreement was no longer followed up on and by the time Stuart got Spector back Warwick had moved on doing their own thing and had adjusted the Streamer body enough that I don't think there is an issue between Stuart Spector and Hans Peter Wilfer. A Spector is a Spector and a Warwick is a Warwick at this point.
