The new album is experimental, lots of elements on it. I find it extremely addictive

We need bands like A7X to make experimental albums like these. They pave the way for new artists to do the same.

I personally loved this album too, it’s one of the most unique albums in the past couple of years, which is very refreshing to see, it’s very proggy, taking risks and expanded on what they’ve done before; seems very appropriate as a follow up from The Stage, worth the wait!

I think you hit the nail on the head when you say that it resinates more strongly with people who have more life experience. You need more wisdom to understand life as a raw unpredictable force which this album resembles. Brilliant master class of TRUE ART

Funny enough - my first experience with Avenged was Bat Country, as well, seeing it on constant TRL rotation. I remember thinking "I could never like this band". Then I happened to see them at Ozzfest 2006, a couple months after the TRL takeover, and was blown away by the live show. I became a huge fan that night, and seen them about 10 times since that show. LIBAD is a beautiful album - and I'm still as big a fan of STST, WtF and all of the rest of their catalogue of music after almost 20 years of following them

I have only had to chance to see them live once! But I am determined to catch them on tour when they hit the EU.

I loved this album. Very unique album. It's made this month very special in my mind. I got Day in the Life by Beatles, vibes from one song.

You're right! It's crazy to think you can hear The Beatles influence in a metal band's music. Love it.

Mixing diff genres and following your heart's artistic whim. That's what it sounds like for me. You gotta have pioneers.

This album is just like the the stage it takes a while to like it and actually find out how much talent and art they put in it.

Picked it up late last night...very complex album. You can really see their maturity in their songwriting.Sounds amazing on my system.

Yes I agree. They not only change with each album but seem to continue to grow in maturity for the better of the music.

even if you HATE this album (I get it, a lot of it isn't metal, songs like (D)eath are like 20% metal if that) you have to respect the fact that this is pure art, I've never heard anything like it and yet it's all so familiar, every part of this album I think to myself ''wow this sounds a lot like this other thing' Knowing the stakes here with this being their first album in 7 years after an album that (from my knowledge) wasn't received as positively as their older albums (even tho I still think The Stage is one of their best) makes it even more powerful knowing that A7X takes this album seriously enough to spit in the face of people who hated The Stage and double down on this more prominent style change (Not like this is the first time for them, I'm of the belief that A7X never really stuck to a specific sound beyond matt's voice and synyster being synyster)

The song The Stage is a crowning achievement. And good on them for doubling down on this direction and theme. I think that it helps if you are a fan of different type of music in general to digest this album better. It's not a pre-requisite. But it does help as it involves so many genres. If all you want from this album is purely metal then you will be disappointed.

@@LuminousDark I do enjoy a lot of different music, stuff like tally hall is pretty similar to this album with it being random and them doing whatever the hell they wanted to do. But yeah I don't know why people expected them to just go back to WTF or STST, I get not liking an album but hoping a band will regress to the days when they didn't know how to record and matt just screaming into the mic is silly

Thanks for sharing King Yorick! It's all subjective and I can understand where you are coming from. What would you say is your most disliked track? And is there any one track that is alright for you? Purely curious by the way. Not aiming to throw any hate or anything.

I believe it is a masterpiece but two of the songs are about someone killing themselves its like they went the pessimistic route of what a person does when they realize life is a dream when on the other hand that could wake a person up to be their best selves and be masters of their lives
