To respond to Dr. Heiser's closing remarks, there are different groups. There is a messianic Jewish argument that says that gentiles either have to convert to Judaism, or they continue to be second-class citizens. But Hebrew roots basically proceeds from Protestantism, and what it says is that we should be imitating our example Yeshua in everything (which is clearly true). And Jude three tells us that even though we are saved, it's still NECESSARY to practice the same way our Messiah practiced. It does not work in Trinitarian Roman Christian context. But if you adopt a non-Trinitarian Two-House based Nazarene Israelite context, where Messiah came to recover the last 10 tribes of the house of Ephraim-Joseph-Israel (like He says), everything fits perfectly. It just requires wearing the same Jewish lenses that the authors of the renewed covenant wrote with

The reason it matters is that Caleb is iconic for the southern house of Judah (later the southern kingdom of Judah), in exactly the same way that Joshua the son of Nun was iconic for the northern house of Ephraim (a.k.a. the northern house of Joseph, a.k.a. the northern House of Israel, which was prophesied to be scattered for almost 3000 years and then re-gathered in today's times). Check out Matthew 15:24 to see that the only people who follow the Messiah Yeshua are the lost sheep of the Israel (a.k.a. the Bible believing Christians [as opposed to the non-Bible believing christians a.k.a. the Catholics]). There's a lot to this that sadly, the late Dr. Heiser never understood. But his research on Enoch one is outstanding.

It is too bad that the late Dr. Heiser never understood the mystery of the two houses. Whether Caleb is truly Jewish or whether Caleb is grafted and has a tremendous impact in eschatological interpretations. In other words, when the dust settles, will it only be Jewish Jews who stand in the land? Or gentile Jews? And then who comes to settle after the dust settles.these are vital questions with tremendous import, but we cannot even begin to understand them, let alone acknowledge that they exist, unless we understand the mystery of the two houses.

To be honest, I’ve never heard a Hebrew roots group use this for conversion, we get plenty of including of gentiles all through the Pentateuch, there’s over 50 laws that include them at Sinai and in tge wilderness.. I think what they point to is that it was jew and gentile that came into the promised land together, and not just Jews,, which, we don’t even see “Jews” until 2nd kings outside of the individual tribe.. but thank you for your research.

Caleb was a Gentile...His father was a Kenezzite!

You can’t be a prince of Judah and not be from the tribe of Judah… so it should be cleared that he was a Jew

Watched this in good faith, believing it would be a scholarly presentation. Too bad it devolved into opinion and unsubstantiated bashing of Messianic believers.

Only way to gain salvation is to keep all of Torah. Jesus kept all of Torah and instructed us to do the same! New testament doesn't happen until after the judgment per Jeremiah 31. This guy has no clue at all when he's talking about NT/ot, circumcision etc. Totally clueless!!

Where does JESUS say in order to Get Salvation you have to Keep "all of torah"???
@natalieturner664 Жыл бұрын
@@israeliteonlycampkilluhi.o2108 Jesus said just the opposite. 1 Corinthians 1:17 Jesus sent Paul, not to baptize, but to preach the gospel. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

@@israeliteonlycampkilluhi.o2108try Matthew 5:17-20 (realizing that in Jewish parlance, "righteousness" is the heartfelt physical performance of the commandments). then try Matthew 7:21-23, realizing that the majority disregards the Torah of Moshe.

@@natalieturner664, respectfully, salvation is by grace through faith and not of our own merit or doing! But once we are saved, then we want to be righteous by obeying our King's house rules (which has always been the Torah of Moshe).
