As a huge Raptors fan, yes he absolutely deserved to be. If our management could surround him with anything decent, he'd 100% be in the discussion as the greatest Raptor of all time over Vince and Lowry. He transitioned to being a stretch 5 on the Heat, stretching the floor and becoming a great switchable defender. Every team wants that out of their big man now and that's in big part of Bosh. @Tong Zou better and greater are two different things. All of those guys you name had good careers but little to no winning, and didn’t have long careers. He may not have had the peak of Webber, but he played at a high level for a longer time and won on top of it. Something y’all seem to leave out it just how much longevity plays a part in things. Peak is great, but it has to last and accomplishments are key. Webber was the better talent but bosh absolutely had the bette career. Bosh has a resume comparable to first ballot guys. I can make guys who had much shorter peaks and less accolades who got in easily. So why would it make sense that Bosh had to wait even longer but Webber should get in? I'll never forget the insulting title: "2.5 Stars" That was the biggest news headline criticizing the Heat for their first 2 years. But at the same time, LeBron haters would say he had a big 3. It was crazy to see how 'hate' could produce such illogical narratives.
@webuser34393 жыл бұрын
Not all NBA stars are created equal. The reality was somewhere in the middle. Bosh was a legitimate NBA all-star who was capable of leading his own team. On paper, the Heat had a "true big-3". LeBron-haters use this narrative to diminish LeBron's accomplishments. However, in practice, the Heat's "big-3" fit very poorly together. Their play styles & skill sets simply overlapped way too much, which turned them into a severely under-optimized team, essentially neutralizing their own talent. Hence, the "2.5 stars" narrative was also accurate. One could even argue that it was only a "big-2" at best. The Heat had arguably the most talented "big-3" ever assembled, but their combined talent was greatly limited by their poorly-assembled roster, making their "big-3" not a true "big-3". Therefore, both arguments are simultaneously true. This is why true big-3s rarely work unless the 3 stars fit perfectly together (e.g. 2016-2019 Warriors or 2020-2021 Nets). It's more efficient to have only 2 stars on a team (e.g. Kobe-Shaq Lakers) or 1 superstar with 2 lesser stars (e.g. Bird's Celtics, Jordan's Bulls). In the NBA, there is such a thing as too much talent, and the Heatles were the best example of that.
@kuruptzZz3 жыл бұрын
@@webuser3439 But that argument means that no big 3 can even exist, since pretty much any big star will have to change their game to fit 2 others...which is also something that can't happen overnight. So I don't buy the "big 2.5"
@webuser34393 жыл бұрын
@@kuruptzZz No TRUE "big-3" can ever work, unless their play styles all fit together exceptionally well, which is incredibly rare. Miami Heat's big-3 did not work at all because all three of them have similar play styles and skillsets. They were all ball-dominant. The Heatles were only a big-2.5 or big-2, because at least one of them had to play like a role-player while being paid like a franchise star.

Its very unfortunate he was forced into retirement with his health problems because he still had a good 4+ years left of solid production. 11x All-Star in the limited time he did play, I think he’s worthy of a spot in the HoF
@s_ame11353 жыл бұрын
yup. I remembered Wade carried the Heat to the 2nd round of the playoffs and that's also the season Bosh got injured. Imagine if Bosh was still around back then.
@jaycoolx32 жыл бұрын
He played power forward or center and get selected to NBA second team in the 2000s. If you look at all the bigs in their prime during that period even getting selected to the third team would be impressive
@jay683 жыл бұрын
Anyone that thinks Bosh is not deserving of a spot in the HoF doesn't understand basketball. Bosh was not only a problem in the post, lethal shooter, quick for his size but he later expanded his game to the 3 point line making him a dream player for any GM and team. He was way ahead of his time for a big man and would dominate the league today if he was in his prime.

For what it's worth, Basketball Reference has a Hall of Fame predictive statistic that takes into account player stats, awards, and championships into consideration. Note that it doesn't judge Hall of Fame worthiness, but rather how likely you'll get in based on those criteria (and more) and what other inductees have accomplished. Guys like Jordan, Kobe, and Lebron come out at 100%. Dikembe Mutombo was at 96.9%. Dennis Rodman was at 75.3%. Bosh finished at 99.5%. Even with diminished numbers that came with all his sacrifice, he filled the box score plenty to get inducted into the Hall.

Of course he does, a big that can shoot from the perimeter and offer some rim protection. Him and Dirk were both important to changing the game.
@MrMancreatedgod3 жыл бұрын
Don't blaspheme dirk like that. Bosh can't even tie the man's shoes. Bosh had range like dirk? Seriously. Gtfo.
@sganet_3 жыл бұрын
@@MrMancreatedgod Bosh can do things that Dirk didn’t, but he shot the 3 well enough for someone at his height which was rare at the time. Dirk is elite 3pt shooter, they were both important for the game, stop being a hater.
@MrMancreatedgod3 жыл бұрын
@@sganet_ I'm not a hater. And labeling me as one is a piss poor hof argument. That's infact the discussion. There never was any fear bosh gonna own a team. The man hardly ever even averaged a double double....but sure hof. Smh

@gman30133 жыл бұрын
2 things: 1. As a Raptor fan, he was an average defender but had to be the man on a terrible team. That blew up his stats. 2. He only won meaningful games as a number 3 guy. His combination of wins and stats happened at separate times. He is absolutely not a Hall of Famer

After that game 6 championship rebound. Bosh had 0 points in the game 7 clincher against the Spurs and he still deserves every single accolade. Undoubtedly a HOF worthy career.

With that rebound in 2013 finals and pass to Ray Allen was enough to make him a HOF... In my opinion! 🤗

I agree with him being in the hall of Fame I always like Chris Bosh and as a kid watching him I model my style to him a rim protector that can shoot at mid range

He sacrificed individual stats to win. He's a 11 time allstar 2x champ. That's career most players won't come close too.

@blakehansen82843 жыл бұрын
What? He's definitely a Hall of Famer. A lot of factors go into it beyond just someone's game itself. He's done a lot for basketball the sport and is easily one of the most intelligent players (off-court) of all time. Definitely my favorite of the heat trio. As a Jazz fan I was stoked to have Dwayne Wade join ownership (and vicariously OPs) but I would have appreciated Bosh's off court expertise even more.

Bargnani and Rasho played center in Toronto with Bosh. WTF are you talking about? The team screwed up Bargnani's development, asked him to go from 220LBS to 260LBS to play out of position because Bosh didn't want to guard centers. Bosh also bulked up big time in his last Toronto season, but lost a ton of weight to play smaller and faster in Miami. That's why he couldn't play 5.

Why do people even question if he should be in the hall of fame💀like its gotta be people who just started watching basketball a few years ago … what 10x allstar , olympic gold medalists , and 2x champion doesn’t make it in. Its guys with half of the accolades he has thats in
