Steph Curry is on one of the greatest streaks the NBA has ever seen - shooting over 50% on 14 three point attempts per game, but it's the sheer audacity of difficulty on his shots from all over the court that is not only willing his outmanned Warriors team to victories, but placing him in the conversation for MVP and GOAT. Coach Nick breaks down exactly how he's been doing it, including setting his teammates up for assists based on his gravity alone.

@@zacharypeery4082 Curry is more skilled than Jordan by a very wide margin. Jordan played against much worse defensive schemes compared to today, not to mention you couldn't play zone against him back then. Jordan might be better, but he's not as skilled. I'm 63 as well and been watching since the 60's. Jerry West was the closest thing i remember to Steph, back in the day. Steph's game seems almost like taking Walt Frazier, Earl Monroe and Rick Barry's skill sets and fusing it into one person. These players all had at least one thing in common with Curry, which is that they all made everything they did look easy and effortless. Shame the current generation of fans can't seem to appreciate the level of skill, will and dedication that reflects....from a lifetime of preparation.

This is the breakdown I was waiting for but not seeing it in all the TV networks. His inside game. That's 62%. No one is talking about that and that makes him more lethal than ever, because if guarding him closely, he can also just lay up the ball. If guarding too far away, he can shoot a 3. Yes, that word bouncy is how I would also describe his inside game. It seems he is more comfortable laying up the ball lately with spring in his footwork. I am more impressed by the inside game as it makes him multi-skilled. Yes, he is very skilled. If only he didn't miss 8 games where Warriors lost 7 they would be no. 6 or 7.

Yep. His TS% while driving is about the same as his TS% while 3P shooting. There is no weakness. On average if you guard him too close to force a drive you give up just as many points as sagging off and letting him get a 3P shot off. I'd think it's still better to make him drive because he spaces the floor so goddamn much when he's outside the arc that his teammates become that much more deadly even if they're scrubs.

Before anyone runs away with "COACH called him GOAT" comments, the key phrase is "pound-for-pound" (a fighting term to compare fighters of different weight classes). So as a thought exercise, imagine Jordan or LeBron being Stephs height and size,. Could have they affected the game as Steph does? [thats the discussion here] The other way is also interesting, if Steph was 6'8" and 230 lbs could he destroy the league more than LeBron does?

Haters can say whatever they want about Steph Curry only being a shooter, how moving without the ball doesn’t affect the game as much as assists, how’s he not a good defender in the league. But what they’re they’re missing is the impact of Steph Curry, when he’s present on the court. Curry gets doubled teamed, if not triple teamed every single game he plays. Giving practically 3 or 4 Warriors wide open opportunities to make the defense pay. Not to mention, he still drops 40+ points against every team, no matter how they guard him. Curry owns the system of the opposing defense. He doesn’t just benefit his own team. If Steph Curry is not present, every member of Golden State would get shut down and humiliated.

I’m not gonna lie (i wasn’t born in the jordan, bird, magic era) but although the debate is tough on who the GOAT is based off the fact there are so many factors to consider including time - Curry has to be without a doubt the most solid basketball player i have ever seen. Given the circumstances the man is undoubtedly a fucking monster. Let’s just state his size first. 6’3 [190 lbs}... remember that for later. He started as an averaged size player w/ solid but mediocre handles, low durability particularly in the ankles and the lack of a complete finishing package. Now let’s consider what the game of basketball actually is. Athletic chess, with the exception of a few pieces like athleticism, iQ, strength, height, etc. scoring is about outplaying and muscling thru the defense. It’s fucking hard to play 48 minutes absorbing contact, constantly remaining active and extending muscle productivity via rebounding, shooting and playing defense. Combine these things together with the competition in the last 10 years and it’s a knock out the park, it ain’t even close. You have Lebron, KD, Kawhi, giannis, DJ, CP3, DHoward, Gobert, iBaka, Perkins, gasol brothers, Blake, Kobe, rondo, the list goes on and on bro. And this man has a counter for every. Single. One of em. That’s is insane when you put that into perspective, Jordan dusted his competition, Lebron silenced a bunch of mf’s but Curry? He made the game HIS. Remember his height we talked about earlier? it’s tremendously draining task to manage all of that under that frame. He doesn’t jump high, he’s not the fastest and he’s not the biggest but the man has mastered literally everything about the game i see no holes just off nights. Oh and before i forget, his shooting isn’t what’s amazing it’s the set up. The shot goes in b4 the ball even leaves his hand because he knows exactly how to move those pieces to get everyone in position. I’m sorry but y’all can have the free throw line dunking this man literally PLAYS basketball!
