Hey, thx for this video. It's weird, but it seems to me like Sion really fell in some kind of love with the Exile. Never thought of this anyway. And about the deep meaning of his story as well. Great job. And it comes like a wizard comes - not late nor early, but just when he planed to, when he is needed. A video in some way about hate and letting it go. I love how during the final battle with Sion one of the dialogue options available is- [Persuade] Truth: Sion, we need not battle - you have been a presence in my mind as well. -The game allows us the option to have Meetra fall in love with him too. So, in a way, that means he's kinda romancable then. I really appreciate that they gave us that option.
@armaan1091 Жыл бұрын
eh I wouldn’t say she fell in love with him, more so she was probably manipulating him not to fight or to stand down. That would make sense since HK would’ve told her the only way to bear Sion would be to make him doubt himself in some way, and if he admitted he loves her, then she could use that against him? Idk. I Just find the idea of romancing Sion to be very weird.

I always liked to think that Sion did love Meetra. Not in a way where he wants to be with her romantically, but that he sees in her, whether consciously or subconsciously, a way to free himself from the eternal agony he lives in. In how she let go of the force, where he is obsessed with it. They are mirror opposites and I think he sees in her how he maybe could have been if he hadn't have gone down the path that he did. And that is why he says that she is 'beautiful to him'.

Beautifully expressed, and I absolutely agree. The relationship between the Exile and Sion is a real gem in the story, particularly since at the end, it's that love that allows Sion to finally move on. Meetra was the only person who could save him, and perhaps the only person who'd even try, since she could sympathise with him. Both of them were broken, just in different ways.
@FoggyPigeon2 жыл бұрын
@@Cailus3542 Yeah for sure. His final words being a warning to Meetra so that she might survive her confrontation with Kreia and then finishing with "I am glad to leave this place... at last" was so well written. I always loved the immense power of Nihilus, but Sion was ultimately the far better written character. Probably the most emotionally complex Sith in all of Star Wars.

Something I don't see highlighted all that often is that a lot of Sion's dialogue paints him as a victim of emotional abuse. How he both hates Kreia and knows what kind of person she is yet craves her approval nonetheless. Harrowing stuff
@FishTheJim2 жыл бұрын
Yes! That last fight and dialogue between the Exile and Sion was so important to the game. Sion should have gotten more development in game. However, Kreia still used the Exile to take out both Nihilus and Sion. A simple tale of revenge? I think not. Kreia was playing a much longer game even if the story never progressed the way it should have.
@srottfaen2 жыл бұрын
I think Kreias motivation for taking them out was a kind of guilt for her part in creating these monsters. She had to right the wrong with the sith, just like she had to teach the Jedi about their own arrogance.

What about Atris’ feelings towards Meetra Surik? It seemed to me that she had a crush on her or perhaps that they were in a relationship. But, they took very different views on war. How the war played out, hardened Atris, filled her with bitterness and a sense that Meetra didn’t just betray her Jedi teaching, but rather betrayed her. And perhaps that was what changed Atris from a moderate council member to hardliner and then… I mean, the way she talked sound to me like they went through a very bad breakup, and Atris couldn’t put it aside, couldn’t let go and move past it. That was just my impression. Then again, Brianna seemed to be attracted toward her too.

Sion and Nihilus were kind of similar in their dependance on the Force to survive. Nihilus became so corrupted by the dark side that he was forced to encase his spirit in his armor and mask to survive in the physical plain. Sion was also dependant on the Force to survive and used it to achieve a form of immortality that had a massive drawback, he was left in constant pain. This dependance on the Force was why Kreia never viewed him as her greatest apprentice since Revan. Kreia's ultimate goal in the game was to create a new wound in the Force at the Trayus Core, in the heart of the devastated planet of Malachor V that was significantly larger than that created by Meetra Surik, in order to kill the Force, because she came to the belief that the force had a will of its own and was in control of people's destinies. Had she succeeded she may have wiped out all life in the galaxy leaving an empty void, much like what would have eventually happened if Nihilus hadn't been stopped. Sion didn't understand that Kreia respected Meetra more than him because Meetra was forced to give up the Force to survive, while Sion was dependant on it. Meetra was able to open his eyes to this and she eventually helped him let go of his hatred and he was able to pass on.
@HandleDisliker Жыл бұрын
I agree with this evidence, yet I disagree with this conclusion that Kreia would've destroyed the galaxy should she had succeeded. I unintentionally wrote a KZbin script to explain my point so I'm sorry for that, and if anyone wanted to plagiarize this and edit appropriately for a video they can be my guest, just credit. Kreia saw the force as the source of so much of the suffering of the galaxy. Even should all Sith would be wiped from the universe, and one Jedi be left to rebuild the Jedi order, among the proceeding Jedi would fall new acolytes for a new Sith empire, and the cycle would repeat itself, bringing endless strife for trillions of bystanders. Many would believe that the force is essential to life in the galaxy. Qui Gon Jinn much later certainly thought so. But then, Malachor V happened. So many perished in that explosion, but there arose one that was free of the force, someone who was living proof that the force and life weren't one and the same. This is why I believe Kreia was so fascinated by the Exile. Sion and Nihilus as you said were living examples of dependence upon the force, and while Revan chose the Dark side as one would choose a cloak, even he seemed unable to keep away from the force. But in the Exile, Kreia found someone who was able to turn away from the force, and a chance to end its destructive cycle. If she could convince the Exile to use what he or she had learned and create a new order of Jedi that would destroy the force, the universe could be rid of its greatest evil. But it was not long until the Exile refound his or her connection to the force that Kreia noticed a sort of enthrallment upon the Exile. Kreia, despite her efforts, could not make the Exile aware of what he/she had actually achieved, but was unintentionally continuing the cycle of renewal and death, and this is where we see Kreia snap. She cuts herself from the Exile and reemerges as Darth Traya, continuing her own work of personally destroying the force. The Exile arrives and stops her, and Kreia, mortally wounded, realizes that the force may never be killed, but consoles herself with one positive thing the light side brings, no matter how dire a situation becomes and all light has appeared to faded: Hope. And with this, Kreia releases her aspiration, and returns into the force. She sees a vision of the Exile and the party, and, finally, passes on. _____

Amazing video my friend as always. I agree with you that Sion did have feelings for Meetra Surik although not saying it that way but in other ways. Sion said he immersed himself in the Exile to know everything about her but not so much on how to defeat your enemy because he was infatuation and obsessed with her. I would have preferred a relationship between Meetra Surik and Atton Rand because they would have made a good couple like Revan and Bastila

Dark Lord of the Simps The friend zone is STRONG within you Jk. But only kinda. He wants to break and kill you if you're a male, and protects you if you're female. I remember this. I thought it was corny at the time. But I kinda wish it had been explored deeper. He was the lord of pain the Exile was also living in a perpetual sort of pain. The Exile lived on without the Force, Darth Sion embraced the pain using the Force. Kreia hated him because his strength was a lie. I also wished that the male Exile had more of a romantic sub plot with Atris to counter this. Like how Revan used love to save Bastila, why not the Exile do the same for Atris. It was clear she and the male Exile had these feelings for each other. Tragically great game that could have surpassed KotOR I if it had been given its due. Half assed but still epic, how epic is that? Something else that could have been explored was the multiple romantic options for both male and female Exiles. What if you had to choose one over the others? Atris, Visas, Handmaiden or Sion, Atton, Disciple, Visas. Could have been awesome.

Well, if it worked for couples like Luz and Amity, so be it. On second thought, who would even properly love Darth Sion?

Darth Sion was a masochist who nearly became the first SIMPlord as his anger and pain almost became love and lust when Meetra Surik struck him down several times? Sion was so ashamed, he was convinced to let himself go and die?

👎😎 you are so wrong my little friend. Sion has almost the same dialog with the male exile as well, in the end he don't want you to be broken by Krea as he was. And it doesn't matter if you play as a male or a female. The only difference is that he doesn't lust after the male exile, but he lusts after the female exile.

Doesnt make that our protagonist kinda Mary Sue? :-/ Seems cheap that every male in game gets to love her ... And i cant help the feeling it diminishes the character of Sion aswell ... finaly some interesting Sith, and they have to make him "fall in love" with a Jedi. -_- BTW ... Have you noticed the cute paralel between him and Aton? Aton was killer of Jedi, until one showed him how much she loves him ... and as you can say to Atton when you are dark one: She just found your weaknes and used it against you.
