Given a choice anyone would choose a regular college. Most of the people who opt for IGNOU are the working professionals or people with not enough resources. However, you have described the mindset of people pretty good. People choose face value over competence.Specially in India. That’s why we are so behind US or UK. They choose competence over face value. If some one wants to do their MA in psychology from IGNOU, I would suggest to start looking for internship from day one. Start getting practical knowledge as much a possible to strengthen your CV, so at the time of the interview you have enough knowledge practically and theoretically.

I took admission in MA in psychology from IGNOU and I am really positive about it. Bcz I care about people mental health these days. I am working professional in sales and marketing and 2 of my colleages who were very good friend of mine committed suicide due to depression. I too suffered from depression and I know what does it feel like..when your intention is right and if you want change people lives and bring something positive then universe will help you for sure. Sabh ke pass itne resources nahi hote aur woh log itne lucky nahi hote jo regular college jaa sake. Abhi internet information ke time pe yeh sabh analysis se koi farak nahi padta.

Start krne me regular walo ko priority par rakha jata hai . I really respect you bro and love the way you justify but bro I wanted to get in DU too but due to some health reasons I couldn't and I am 98.6% scorer of CBSE I had to drop and study from IGNOU. I was too against of this open university but when I was given assignments study material, I saw the previous year papers I was convinced. You don't get the kind of self independence in a regular college like the one you get in open. Har university ke pros and cons h but yaha baccho ko focused rehna padta h, papers tough hote h and poora procedure regular college jaisa h. In the end aapki counselling talents aur field knowledge matter krti h isiliye oyo, freecharge, swiggy, vedantu jaise startups sirf iitians ke nahi h. So being a psychology student we must be open to every opportunity. Even UPSC jaisi testing body bolti h it doesnt matter aap konsi university se ho bass UGC se grant honi chaiye aur hamare testing processes clear kro baaki hum aapko training denge. Koi inborn experienced ni hota

Look, IGNOU has greater fame and value as compare to many other so called Govt/Pvt regular Universities in India. IGNOU itself is an Iconic Organisation or Academic Institution. Another thing I want to add, people who coming from IGNOU are way smarter than those monkeys who just doing their Master Degree from a Pvt. Regular Institute. Self learning is an Ultra modern technique of study. Even many World Famous Universities/Academic Institutions are accepting effectiveness and also Implementing this System of Study and offering verious degrees through Online and the ODL mode. Hence I have one question for you. What if a Person who had MAPC from IGNOU and also did a M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from a RCI approved Institute, is it possible to even call that person inferior than others?

I agree with your point of view ..I mean I also agree that ignou is a good option .. But What you meant was that the subject like psychology you need that exposure of a full time degree .. But like a person like me who has done her bachelor's in commerce and now is a home baker wana do course in that only but i want to do masters but I can't commit to a full time degree and if i am interested in doing masters the only option I have is ignou .. I'm in 2nd year of LL.B now and no I hadn't enrolled coz I've recently met few friends pursuing Masters in Psychology and got pretty much information viz this course and came to the conclusion that it needs special attention and one can't pursue it in rush. It needs devotion coz the concepts are deep. So I've decided to do it later, maybe after this law degree. I didn't wanna sail in two boats together so... Hope you got it. 😁

There is no career that doesn't need any human interaction. Whatever field I choose I have to be prepared for human interactions. That's what my biggest obstacle is but I have left with no other option. I'm actually planning on giving UPSC after my graduation from IGNOU. I just have 1 attempt as the age limit for UPSC is 32 years for the general category. So I have a big target to achieve I hope I crack the exam in the first attempt.
