I just thought of a random theory! What if the porcelain child was a real child that was very well behaved so the teacher gave him a crown which made the other children jealous so the decided to jam his head on the chess piece. This is just a random theory I made for fun so I hope u like it lol

Just another detail that supports that there is more to this scene, and it isn't a random bully npc. Also with Chess 'Checkmate' is the last move, assuming that this is the Teacher's doing. Does that mean that this dead kid once had co-conspirators? What I mean is in order to checkmate someone you need to have all/most of their pieces to succeed. The KIng during checkmate only had three pieces left to him. 2 Pawns and a Knight. If he was playing a metaphorical chess game with the teacher, then what pieces did she take to eventually capture him? It might not be the exact number on a chessboard, but if the kid had allies, who did she go through to capture him last? The King was put in checkmate by a Rook and the opposite King. I'll assume the other King is the Teacher, but could the Rook be the Thin Man? He also moves like the Rook in the game. Moving forwards and backwards in any vertical or horizontal line. It may also explain what the glitching remains where doing in the school and as we know glitching remains are remnants of the children captured/who've interacted with the Thin Man. This might explain why they went missing. Children are constantly being targeted in Little Nightmares, they are the wrench in the works of The Signal Tower as they are unaffected by the broadcast. I think this 'Chessgame' was a hunt for the remaining children in the school. The Porcelain Children are 'empty-headed' but are ideal for molding into whatever the signal tower wants, I think the 'imagination' these kids possess, their creativity makes them a threat to this world. Six has amazing 'survival' instincts for her age, she is cunning and resilient. Mono is all about imagination, he can interact with the TV and has sort of a superpower, he projects himself as a hero. He wields weapons against his foes, through playing as Mono we don't have to run from the bullies, we can attack them head on. Kids are percieved as a threat to this 'new world'. The 'Thin Man' by the end of the game probably loathes childhood, due to his own being cut short and all the trouble it brought with it. He projects the fabrication of a tragic world which is broadcasted via the signal tower across the Pale City, but only the kids can break out of it because of their purity and sheer determination. Children still have a chance at undoing this nightmare, which is why the monsters come for them. They are a hope in a world of despair. At least that's what I think.

Maybe the teacher is the queen and the tower is the king? The tower can't move physically and can't harm you directly unless you get inside/really close to it, but it has the most influence, the most importance- mirroring the way the king in chess is very limited in movement but is still the most important pond because losing it means losing the game. I'd imagine that if there is a way to kill the signal tower, it is by taking the tower itself, not any of its pawns. And the teacher has a vast range of motion due to her long neck, like the queen

Six’s personally in LN2 is something not many people actually pay attention to since they came from LN1 and six in that game was full of purpose. She had a goal and she had a cold demeanor. But in LN2 six acts very much like a child. She’s almost innocent. She picks up toys, she does silly little animations and she gets scared. Very different from the six we know in the first game. It’s only after she’s taken by the thin man that she changes. Like him taking her and leaving behind a shadowy remain split her soul and any sense of morality isn’t completely gone but it’s not all there after she’s rescued by mono.

I think you’re right about the nome hats being a form of punishment for the children. It’s almost like saying, “if your NAUGHTY, the Lady will turn you into a nome”. Also the child being tied up reminds me of Bart Simpson being forced to write a word on the board as punishment. That’s why I refer to him ‘Porcelain Bart’.

I Kind of have a theory for the child on the chess piece So if you look closely on the child’s right eye you can kinda make out a black eye, so I think maybe the kid got caught in the little trap room and maybe was beat up by the “bullies” and killed in the process. The bullies decided to put the child’s head on the piece to indicate Checkmate and the child lost and was caught. (Idk if this is good or not but yeah)

I think that the dead kid that is in the chess room was an alive human boy that the bullies adored for not being able to die as easily (because they are porcelain their fragile like a doll so if they accidentally fall from a high place in the wrong angle poof their dead meanwhile humans can survive that stuff)(most of the time) making the human bully overall stronger than the other bullies so they made him the leader. So I'm thinking that one day maybe the human boy did something bad towards the teacher and he got punished(getting killed and being the king in the chess room) and the other bullies out of respect put him a crown and put him a porcelain head to show how he was one of them and removing the eyes(for some reason).(i don't know if they would do that but it's still a fun thing to think about!)

I also agree that the school was once a "normal" school but then it got twisted and turned into the horrifying school of madness that we play through in the game... that room is absolutely amazing, i really agree with it being the most interesting one. also thought he was the boy in the portrait ”being taught his final lesson”. i always imagined this being his actual playroom though, back when everything was normal, just the impression i got. that he was a privileged principles son or something, living “at school” permanently. i think i kinda based that on this part of the building feeling like it was more of a home once. and it had the same layout as the ladys residence, no? was a similar situation near the end of the game, when six and mono climbs up this wooden fence thing, which i remembered as being the same Six climbs when leaping away from getting eaten in LN1, also near the end of the game. Like memories getting messed up/merged, in other words. I only played it once though, so might as well be my memories getting messed up, lol. I can actually see the faint line where the porcelain child's head ends and the real child's head is shown. It's smaller and darker and creates that squished face look, as well as around the eyes where it looks as if there are two empty holes where the porcelain eyes should be and the eyes of someone else underneath. It also looks like that when Mono is wearing the porcelain head. p.s. with the naughty usage, I just thought you were British...

3:23 Maybe he's the king because he didn't wanna be turned into porcelain and maybe the teacher challenged him to chess or something else. He wins it (which is why he is the king) and because he won he doesn't get turned into porcelain, the teacher keeping her promise, however she's angry that he won so she jams his head onto the piece, leaving him to die slowly as he gets what he wanted.

If we get a dlc I hope to see 2 things 1. Lunch Lady boss fight 2. How the chess child got caught/their journey This is justy idea for how a school based dlc could work/ my speculations on the porcelain child's fate We could go on a journey as the chess child and he ends up being the one taking out the lunch lady, maybe at some point afterwards he fought some porcelain children and wore one of their heads like mono did to sneak by the rest. Later he may have been lured into that room by the teacher who saw through his disguise, trapped him and had the porcelain children tie him to the chess piece.

I just had a random thought today but on one of the posters from the little nightmares 2 offical artwork one of the posters has a missing child on it. I got a really good look at it and realized that the kids face looks almost identical to that of the male bullies. Maybe the missing kid was kidnapped and they used his face to sculpt the design of bullies head before they killed him in someway? I doubt that the kid on the chess piece is the missing child but who knows 🤔

Why are the only things that are getting affected by the signal Tower human life forms not any other animal got affected if you look through the rats that I've seen in the game they don't look like they've been affected by the signal Tower the only exception for the humans getting affected by the signal Tower would be the teacher the Thin Man and the doctor and also this is not part of the theory but it's kind of funny that all the humans faces look like they've been punched

Hmm I am not sure I actually agree. We see a GIANT rat in LN2 in the first area. The moth in the city is also exceptionally large. Even some of the fish in the maw seem a little too big tbh. In the artwork we also see a pig and a moose that look off as well.

i've been thinking about how to explain why some kids in the school already have cracked heads and i think there's two options a) The cracked heads are kids Mono killed from the previous time loop who were re-animated by the tower b) the teacher ruler-smacked them :)

also it has nothing to do with the video but i just noticed something watching other theories in VLN we see how the pretender deintegrates the raincoat girl when she is caught, leaving just her raincoat. and if we take a look at the pale city, there's clothes everywhere just like if their owners disappeared. at the end of little nightmares 1 we see six using those powers that kinda absorb the guest's lifes or souls, but if we think about it they're using masks, maybe their original bodies also disappeared. i still have no idea of how to connect this things in a way that makes sense at all so i'm leaving this in the comments and hopefully somebody else will find a way for it to make sense lol also sorry for any mistakes, english is not my main language 🤸🏻‍♀️

If we weave together the Pretender’s doll creating (morphing?) powers and the perversion caused by the signal tower, would it be too far fetched to say that maybe the porcelain children were once normal children? They were morphed in one way or another into the porcelain children: an attempt at perfect conformity in an institution that clearly values obedience. I have a question (it doesn't really have anything to do with the video, sorry 🙁): If the children don't experience hunger, then why was a piece of meat in the cage in Little Nightmares 1? You may recall that in the first game, the second time Six got hungry, she found a piece of meat in a cage and when she went into the cage to eat it, Roger catches her, implying that he was lurking there, waiting for a child to see the food and step into the cage to eat. But as far as we know, children don't get hungry (Six being the exception, obviously). So why did he think this would work? Do the adults not know that the kids don't eat? Are there children that do get hungry for some reason and Roger was aiming to get one of those? Or did Roger want to catch Six specifically because he knew that she DOES get hungry? I'm confused.

“The hunger” that we talk about is not normal hunger. It’s so strong that it makes Six do what she does and the guests to be desperate to eat Six even though they have tons of food already. We actually know the children still need to eat like normal people.

I think that the...uhhh...King Kid?, is a kid. But I think that like Mono, he had a porcelain child's head over his. I think it's not a mask, but actually the top of a head. I'm not sure HOW they got rid of the eyes so that you can see that King Kids closed eyes underneath, but they did, and here we are. XD Also, DYING that you managed to trigger yourself by saying naughty. ^_^; Feels bad man: the worst is when the offending word starts to lose meaning. As far as the "making a face and the wind changes, your face will get stuck like that," I grew up personally with just "If you keep making that face, it's gonna get stuck like that forever." I agree with your assessment of that picture looking a little more like the doctor than roger, tho. Excellent video! ^_^

I just want to say- you disregard one rule and then you use the rule later to explain your theory. Not saying you’re 100% wrong, but they established the rules of the universe so if you’re right- the developers got sloppy. You say one child is a human child because the face is narrower- but earlier, you insist that the porcelain on the checkmate is human because the eyes are closed. Not saying it couldn’t be distorted by the eye, and it might be great red herring- but why would that child have the larger head if it’s the first human bully? Especially since the developers did make that distinction with the photos on the wall- why wouldn’t they keep that rule if the checkmate porcelain was the original human? It would be too inconsistent.

I have a theory, what if the girl in the picture (the real one) escaped the school leaving the boy to die from hunger on the king only to be caught and put in the maw, what if she is the exact same person as the girl that drops the flashlight while escaping? It looks like someone escaped the school but it was not a Porcelain Child because the school is their home implying that someone else made the rope to escape, the only time you ever see a rope like that is in Little Nightmares 1 when a girl that looks like the girl in the picture in Little Nightmares 2 uses a rope to escape, Coincidence? I THINK NOT. But then again the picture could be six and i could be theorizing about nothing.

Or maybe Six learned this behaviour from her previous version? I mean if the timeline has been confirmed as you said in the beggining, and we look at all of this as a repeating cycle, Six maybe has a memories or something of her previous version. But we don't know exactly!

I just thought what if six came all the way and escaped the tower first then went all the way back through the hospital picking up the habit from the spoon girl then the school then got to the hunter and was locked in and mono came and made her go all the way back again 😂❤

I can't believe I didn't see these new vids til now. Little nightmares is still so important to me and personally I think I've cracked many of it's secrets though I may be totally wrong. I've always thought the broken timeline was wrong because we don't actually know for sure if time even truly passes for children in this world, so much of the evidence for me at least suggests that while children can grow up they never actually do, it's a Neverland. I still think the world we see is actually a Dreamland and not the "real" world. It's like the other world of silent hill, a perversion of the real world.

I think the closet-room thing IS correct because the only human children (other than Mono) we've seen have been trapped somehow. (And the only human kids we've seen in person at the school have all been tied up. So boom.) (I also think that both Six and Spoon-girl were there at one point.)

So what the creators said was that Little Nightmares is for players and fans to create their own interpretations and stories for the events of the game and I love that about the games. There is no particular thing like FNAF or BATIM but you imagine what happened during the games and what will happen.

Maybe the closed eyes kid is lolipop boy wearing a porcelain head with eye holes so that's why you can see his eyes closed. He's got the socks and shoes, looks like it could be a similar outfit and he had a chubbier face that might fill in the mask more fully.

Maybe the boy that was strapped to the king piece, helped Six escape from the school and as a consequence and being the only one captured. He was the punished.

Developers create Assets first and often later decide to move them somewhere else. So I wouldn't be too sure about everything being just as it was initially meant to be.
