This video by Rabbi Singer summarizes my core beliefs about the Jesus story. The writer of Mark is the earliest Gospel. About half of this Gospel uses earlier stories about a man named Jesus (in English). Then the other half of the Gospel has the writer of Mark put in commentary which comes from Paul. Even in Mark the new religion from Paul is beginning to dominate. In addition, with Matthew’s and Luke’s Gospels, Paul’s influence, (as well as from Greek/Roman paganism), increases. By the last Gospel, attributed to John, the dominance of Paul and Greek/Roman paganism is complete.

The term "the written Torah" in a general sense refers to the whole body of the twenty-four Books of the Hebrew Bible. Its essence, however, is the Pentateuch, for it alone contains all of the Divine precepts, and nothing may be added and nothing may be subtracted from it. Even genuine prophets cannot alter anything in the Pentateuch. Indeed, all later prophets or prophecies are verified by their complete conformity to the Pentateuch. It is the ultimate criterion: the falsehood of a prophet or prophecy is established by even the slightest divergence from the original words of the Pentateuch.

I interpreted the words, "Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath" very simply. First and foremost, son of man, does NOT mean Jesus, it means all humans; it is a direct translation of the Hebrew term, ben adom. Human life is superior to observing the sabbath. This is straight Jewish Law, if life is endangered, we violate the sabbath. As Rabbi Singer noted, Jesus gave a reasonable answer as to why he violated the sabbath; he was deathly hungry like King David. Therefore it is idiocy to understand, "Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath", to mean Jesus eliminated sabbath observance.

His son verbatim said "My father never really understood the Bible, but he spent his whole life LIVING it". ( And people clapped) This is the problem. Charismatic "Holy Spirit" Evangelicals waste their WHOLE lives on the "Great Commission" and have to "pray for understanding" of the KJV and NIV because they DISPARAGE the Hebrew Bible and go on their obsessive, narcissistic "Great Jesus Angel Hunt" in it. I have only been following you for about two months, so if you have already done a piece on this subject maybe you could refer me to that video or if anyone that reads my post they could refer me to a source. Is picking single grains really work? It's not like harvesting. More like going to the fridge which also requires opening the fridge door and closing it again. And what I know from orthodox Jews, this is not forbidden as long as the light stays switched off. For that reason I do think that some of the rules concerning Sabbath are exaggerated and it's this what Jesus was addressing. Sabbath is a day of rest, not of causing stress for silly things like picking grains or suffer quietly when one is hungry in a field full of grains. I agree with most of what Rabbi Tovia Singer is teaching, but some things do make me wonder.

it is probably taken out of context if it occurred. Did they walk through the wheat field eating of the grain and damaging the plants/crop. Then the farmer may go to the village authority and seek for his assistance to stop them or berated them. If an animal does enough damage a monetary fine is applied to the animals owner. So. becoming of the Christ is it worthwhile considering he was irrelevant. The day they did it may have been just another case of insubordination on top of the other transgressions which added to the case. Behold why do they do on the Sabbaths [plural] that which is not lawful [any time]? The Son of Man and the Son of God are two different conditions. He is lecturing them on their framing of him in the Senate. And he said to them The Sabbath on account of the man was made and not the man on account of the Sabbath. David is a mere mortal, on account of his defiance he had to blaspheme and break oath. A bitter and twisted sovereign who walked to his demise. [all he could think of on his deathbed was a morsel of vengeance considered obliging]

Jesus himself was keeping Sabbath BECAUSE he teached his people when the Old Covenant of Moses still was active. The Old Covenant of Moses ENDED and the New Covenant started the moment when Jesus died on the cross and resurrected after 3 days ON THE EIGHT DAY WHICH IS "SUNDAY" and also also symbolic for the previous Circumcition ON THE EIGHT DAY! A NEW Covenant! A NEW Law! A NEW Time - starting on the EIGHT DAY "SUNDAY", the FIRST DAY of the FIRST WEEK in the NEW Covenant.

Is Sabbath worship or honoring the Sabbath a Noahide Law? I believe Jesus is teaching his disciples the Noahide Laws because he possibly knew his life was short and it was easiest to give quick ways to memorize laws. I believe he was teaching Oneness not Trinity. He squezzed the Amidah into the Lord's Prayer. He say the Shma was the most important verse and microwaved it into 2 sentences. He taught to pray to the Father.

The Demigod GAYZEUS son of ZEUS found in the the Synoptic Gospels is a literary character invented by the Romans to promote the recent arrival of the Flavian dynasty to imperial power, creating an archetype of messiah towards which all preexisting Jewish prophecies converged. The aim was (1) to empty Jewish concepts, hijacking the messianic hope and solidifying a controversial archetype of Jewish messiah, (2) to blame the Jews for their own destruction in the war of Jerusalem in 70 and (3) to exalt the Flavian dynasty of emperors. The content of the message propagated by the characters in the narrative portrays an agenda of political accommodation, preservation of the imperial “status quo”, anti-Judaism and military indoctrination: both for Roman soldiers and for colonized civilians. Soldiers are often the recipients of the teachings of the Gospels, which occur both explicitly (as in Luke 3:14, when John the Baptist recommends that soldiers be content with their pay, just as Rome advised those recruited for military service) and implicitly (as in Luke 9:23, when the instruction is given to abandon everything - family, friends, work - and follow the leader, just as the government wanted the soldiers to do). There is also abundant teaching reinforcing the civil obligation to serve soldiers, including obeying them for twice the amount required (Matthew 5:41). The character Jesus always presents himself as the reformer of the Law of Moses (Matthew 5:38, correcting Exodus 21:24 on the principle of “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth”) and the propagator of various Roman laws (as in Mark 10:12 on marriage and in Matthew 22:21 recommending the payment of taxes). Jesus never taught his disciples to love Jews or their relatives, but he did teach them to love Romans (Matt. 5:44) and to turn the other cheek (Matt. 5:39). The Flavian Theory, therefore, not only presents a coherent argument for the literary origins of Jesus, but also highlights the Romans' ability to use religion as a tool of sociopolitical control. *_Some of the most enigmatic passages found in the gospels are more easily understood when seen through the eyes of a general speaking to his legions._* *_I had a bland deplorable insufferable two-faced Greek woman admit to all of it proudly in these comment boards a while ago, very sickening._* 🤮🤮🤮

I see Jesus's response in Mark 2 in some ways similiar, but in other ways differently. I think Jesus used David example as an example that the Pharisees would understand, so your argument about the Oral Torah makes sense. However, I think He was trying to teach them how Pharisees should approach teaching others how to keep the Sabbath. They should approach it as God giving us the Sabbath as a gift to us to rest for our labor and pay respect to Him. If they did so, they wouldn't have been so quick to chastise Jesus and considered that He could be poor or destitute, or something else. Hence, Him saying that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. And why Jesus quoted Hosea in that God desires mercy and not sacrifice in another telling of the story in Matthew 12.

YesHuah and his disciples had been walking for hours, had become faint from hunger, and so walking through a wheat field, had removed the husk from the heads, and swallowed the flour..The symbolic meaning with reference to King David and the Shew bread is, the field represents the hungry people seeking the spirit of God, the husk is the covering as the curtain in the holy of holies, YesHuah came to reveal the Torah to the GENTILES, he draws reference to David taking the bread, as a parallel meaning for delivering the Torah to the unbelieving spiritually starving non Jews..Is it not speech that must first be conquered in sifting every throught and word that we are one with the law? YesHuah is the law, Adam reborn, the reflection of the father, but not the father, the Shekinah living in the temple of the soul. YesHuah DID NOT CHANGE THE SABBATH TIME.

He told them it was OK to pick grain on the Sabbath, he told them to "hate" their parents, and anyone else who didn't do as he preached, and he threw the money-changers out of the Temple, who had EVERY right to be there to help people with their Temple donations and purchases - there's more, but those 3 things a bad enough!

These laws and observances may have been used as storylines by early converts of Judaism into Messianic Judaism .The reformers desired to spread the good news while retaining formal study of Torah but they are inferior to the true essence of Jesus as as Messiah . The gnostics and various mystery schools each developed ideas of past beliefs and ritual and incorporated it into the storyline of Jesus . These are still inferior telling of Jesus as Messiah . The truth is that no ritual or observances of the ancients to modern institutions require such laws and ritual or outward show in ceremony or prayer. The fault is in the fear of losing identity as also retaining customs and practices as accepting Jesus as Messiah is to let go and be one with Messiah . There is no church nor purple robes , no secret shrine nor holy grail , no crown , no scepter , no breastplate As all is vanity . The Messiah does not differentiate or favor one above the other in Belief or faith , no such harlot centered amidst pretenders to divine intervention in miraculous feasts of wedding ceremony . All that is required is accepting Jesus as Messiah into the pith and marrow of being , every nerve and vessel and every sinew , every neuron igniting in the mind . To be consumed and consume Jesus as Messiah To all churches and high Towers . To be engulfed in Holy fire and cleansed of creations Sin . There is no mind that can do so unless it is the mind of Messiah as none can pass the flaming swords that guard the tree of life other than Jesus Messiah

The mind is a strange thing, that is not yet fully understood. Sometimes if you want something badly enough, the body will comply. When my daughters were young and they complained of 'not feeling well', I would say to them that women in OUR (my husband's surname) family, don't get sick (without having prayed for them, as an Evangelical Christian!)! They would soon feel better, and that was that! Meanwhile, my husband's brother's kids were always sick!! So, I don't know - the power of positive thinking maybe?! It was definitely NOT the "Jesus" character who healed you, since God specifically said that there is NO OTHER savior, and that we are to pray ONLY to Him (plus, the "Jesus" character actually had no such 'powers'.

Nazareth- Netzer AND THERE shall come forth a Shoot out of the stock of Jesse [David“s father], and a Branch out of his roots shall grow and bear fruit (Isaiah 11:1) Jesus. This was the name to be given to Him. A Nazarene, born in Bethlehem. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him--the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord-- And shall make Him of quick understanding, and His delight shall be in the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness and justice shall He judge the poor and decide with fairness for the meek, the poor, and the downtrodden of the earth; and He shall smite the earth and the oppressor with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of His waist and faithfulness the girdle of His loins (Isaiah 11:2-11:5) But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, you are little to be among the clans of Judah; [yet] out of you shall One come forth for Me Who is to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth have been from of old, from ancient days (eternity). Therefore shall He give them up until the time that she who travails has brought forth; then what is left of His brethren shall return to the children of Israel. And He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God; and they shall dwell [secure], for then shall He be great [even] to the ends of the earth. @@MFPhoto1 It’s interesting what you say even from a believer’s point of view. I’m responding to the notion of lineage as well as to messianic prophesy, understanding the physical and spiritual connection of the two. I will declare the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, You are My Son; this day [I declare] I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like potters“ ware (Psalm 2:7 - 2:9) Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us]. (Isaiah 7:14) Therefore, as sin came into the world through one man, and death as the result of sin, so death spread to all men, [ no one being able to stop it or to escape its power] because all men sinned. [To be sure] sin was in the world before ever the Law was given, but sin is not charged to men“s account where there is no law [to transgress]. Yet death held sway from Adam to Moses [the Lawgiver], even over those who did not themselves transgress [a positive command] as Adam did. Adam was a type (prefigure) of the One Who was to come [in reverse, the former destructive, the Latter saving (Romans 5:12 - 5:14) Behold, I was brought forth in [a state of] iniquity; my mother was sinful who conceived me [and I too am sinful (Psalm 51:5) Now the promises (covenants, agreements) were decreed and made to Abraham and his Seed (his Offspring, his Heir). He [God] does not say, And to seeds (descendants, heirs), as if referring to many persons, but, And to your Seed (your Descendant, your Heir), obviously referring to one individual, Who is [none other than] Christ (the Messiah). This is my argument: The Law, which began 430 years after the covenant [concerning the coming Messiah], does not and cannot annul the covenant previously established (ratified) by God, so as to abolish the promise and make it void. For if the inheritance [of the promise depends on observing] the Law [as these false teachers would like you to believe], it no longer [depends] on the promise; however, God gave it to Abraham [as a free gift solely] by virtue of His promise. What then was the purpose of the Law? It was added [later on, after the promise, to disclose and expose to men their guilt] because of transgressions and [to make men more conscious of the sinfulness] of sin; and it was intended to be in effect until the Seed (the Descendant, the Heir) should come, to and concerning Whom the promise had been made. And it [the Law] was arranged and ordained and appointed through the instrumentality of angels [and was given] by the hand (in the person) of a go-between [Moses, an intermediary person between God and man]. Now a go-between (intermediary) has to do with and implies more than one party [there can be no mediator with just one person]. Yet God is [only] one Person [and He was the sole party in giving that promise to Abraham. But the Law was a contract between two, God and Israel; its validity was dependent on both (Galatians 3:16 - 3:20) And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; He will bruise and tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel (Genesis 3:15) (We know that Satan cannot reproduce, henceforth his offspring are his followers, likewise does HE (the messiah) have his followers through faith. It’s not a war of flesh on flesh but of the evil principalities of this world. We no longer have an accuser since Jesus came. We have a mediator to God, a holy of holies - Psalms 2.) Jesus answered, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God. What is born of [from] the flesh is flesh [of the physical is physical]; and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not [do not be surprised, astonished] at My telling you, You must all be born anew (from above). The wind blows (breathes) where it wills; and though you hear its sound, yet you neither know where it comes from (John 3:5 - 3:8)

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Rabbi, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied “ ‘Love YHWH your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

If the day of circumcision falls on a Sabbath day then the circumcision overrides the Sabbath day. If Circumcision which symbolizes the promise of YHWH incarnating in male flesh overrides the Sabbath obligations, then Jesus Christ who is the promised Holy Seed himself, YHWH incarnate, is much more important than Sabbath and can override the Sabbath at will. When Jesus stated "Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath" He was only being honest. The true Sabbath is in eternity with the Lord. And the way to get there is Jesus himself.
