@johnmc38623 жыл бұрын
No all, some of it is definitely scripted. He’s good though.
@MandleRoss2 жыл бұрын
@@johnmc3862 It's not scripted but they film for hours and edit the best bits together with perfect timing so the show seems like a constant stream of wit with never a dull moment. So the wit is real, just not as consistent or quick-fire as they make it seem. Probably only about 10% of the filmed footage is used. Oh, and I'm not suggesting in any way that this is somehow dishonest or cheating or anything. Nobody would watch the show if there was the actual 10-20 minute stretches of downtime without the really cracking jokes. It's an entertainment product so of course they make it as fun as possible to watch.

I spotted almost immediately that it was a lie when he revealed that he couldn't remember the species of the snake. If anyone has ever had a teacher passionate enough to keep a snake in his/her classroom, as I have, you can pretty much guarantee that they would've told you the species enough times that it'll be permanently ingrained into your memory.

A snake. Most unussual pet which requires dead or alive mice to stay alive. That's what they would use in a class with children. You can't even normally pet the thing like a hamster or mouse. Before finishing the video: My guess, Lie
@ellelka3 жыл бұрын
It's surprisingly common, one of mine just had fish, a snake would've been more interesting 😂 I imagine feeding time would be out of hours in case anyone was grossed out, and since most snakes are nocturnal/crep. Plus some snakes don't eat rodents or eat other things as well. The two that come to mind are garters & egg-eating snakes but garters would be much easier to find.

If they knew anything about British wild snakes they would've known Lee was lying from the info he gave alone. They don't make good pets, they musk and that's not fun for anybody. Neither do they eat mice. They eat amphibians. They won't eat dead prey items. Nobody would keep a Grass Snake as a pet when there are other easier options. If there had been a naturalist on the show he would've been caught out right away lol
@pamelah64313 жыл бұрын
Except he said he wasn't sure what it was, which is perfectly fair. Loads of good pet snakes do eat mice, including pinkies.

There is something about Dermot that is very ( for want of a better word) unattractive to me. He just has such a dullness about him. Even his voice is depressing. If I hear him on the radio, whatever music he's playing' I have to turn it over. I know it sounds dramatic but his voice evokes a real depression in me for some reason. Am I crazy or does anyone else find this ? People must like him as he was presenting nearly everything at one point. No need for abuse if you do like him - it's just my opinion that I wanted to share and I'm sure he can deal with an anonymous guy on you-tube's comment. ( Feel I have to put a disclaimer in after an opinion nowadays, to try and deflect some of the inevitable abuse people throw so easily about)
@statiq19418 жыл бұрын
He presents well because he speaks clearly, is attractive, and while dull, his voice is iconic and catching.
@leesawford8 жыл бұрын
Well, we clearly disagree. I understood he had a fan base and he is obviously popular or he wouldn't have remained in the mainstream for so long. I just happen to think as I commented. I don't hate him or anything. I just, personally, find him difficult to watch or listen too. He's not my 'cup of Horlicks'.
