@Norberto Fontanez Arroyo Thank you for your response, time, and consideration. Let us be humble with our response, because Adrian Broner did have the courage, but mostly arrogance to fight Maidana. "It's not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strongman stumbled or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man in the arena whose face is marred with dust, sweat and blood. Who strives valliently and errs, who comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without error or shortcoming. Who does actually strive to do the deeds. Who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions. Who spends himself in a worthy cause. Who at best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement. Who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails, while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls that neither knew victory or defeat.". Theodore Roosevelt
@theruggedscholar1544
@theruggedscholar1544 2 жыл бұрын
@Norberto Fontanez Arroyo Once again, thank you for your response, time, and consideration. Mr. Broner's behavior has been quite arrogant. Unfortunately, Mr. Broner was raised in an environment and period of time, where sportsmanship is a demonstration of personal weakness. To demonstrate sportsmanship, an athlete chooses to possess courage, humility, self-control, and genuine respect for your opponent. It appears Mr. Broner has had a problem controlling his sexual and/or physical impulses. When a man cannot control his sexual and physical impulses, he lacks discipline. When a man lacks discipline, he looses respect for himself. When a man looses respect for himself, he becomes weak. When a man becomes weak, he lives a without purpose. When a man lives a life without purpose, he becomes destitute and impotent, while waiting to die.

One of his biggest hurdles is a corner that doesn't speak truth to the guy. He's got a bunch of sycophants in there. If you listen to his corner talk to him during the Pac fight, they are telling him he is "winning", and "ahead", when he's clearly getting his clock cleaned. A true friend, and a true corner will tell you the truth. He needs some truth in his life, and the people that genuinely love him will tell him the truth. Sadly, I'm not sure he has those kinds of people around him, and that may be why he is a walking/talking delusion. Lacking true friends may be his own fault if he has decided that he doesn't want to hear ugly truths about himself. Who knows? Well - I don't.

That's what happens when you surround yourself with yes men. Sometimes they wouldn't necessarily be yes men but his ego and lack of looking at himself critically makes them be. I like my fighters cocky sometimes but this guy is ridiculous.

I'll propose an alternate theory: Broner and his team know he doesn't have what it takes to be on the top, so he chooses this persona because people love to pay to see a bad guy gets his ass kicked. After all, millions paid to see if Mayweather would lose, not because his fights were entertaining (on the contrary). So he got paid way above what a boxer of his talent would at the expense of being a villain, but he doesn't care about having a legacy because he wouldn't have a good one anyways.

Yeah, and he pissed Pac off. Did you see their fight? He started humping Pac, so disrespectful. Pissed Pac off and unlocked his try-hard mode, got his ass beat. Broner may be good at boxing, but he’ll never be as respectable as Mayweather.

I’ll say it every time. This is how most black folks are. I’ve boxed so many black folks that thought they could beat me. It’s the greatest feeling when you beat them after all that shit talking. Mohammed Ali, Roy Jones Jr and Floyd all talked so much shit and showed off. Disrespectful and cocky as hell. Not humble at all.
