From what I remember, you could get another handlebar that was flat. You basically changed handlebars to change the height of the bars. They claimed it was more aero that way.

I used to own this bike in the rim brake version. I still believe it was the fastest bike ever at least on the flats. It was purely optimized for speed . Sprint stiffness was insane. The weight, the riser bars, and the brakes were horrid though. Not to mention the headtube has a sharp edge that could damage the fork when turned 90 degrees or in the event of a crash.

What a bike. I was lucky enough to buy one off Tasmanian specialized mechanic. He built it up in 2018 frame only with full dura ace everything. It's so fast. Going up hills, you gotta throw the power through to get up, but I like that. Brakes are ok. With discs, the frame would be crazy.

the handlebars comes in 0,10 and 25 rice and 38,40,42 and 44. with etap it´s not really a problem with maintenance after building it and swapping the bars can be done if you go narrower on the bars or shorter on the stem. And bleed/reajust the breaks after. I have a 2018 disc with clx64 and it is stiff, responsive and do good uphills too. love it. downsides is the top of the headtube is a bit high and minimize the customization a bit and it is f****g expensive to crash on

I have this bike in the correct version; with disc brakes...! And I prefer this generation to the newer one, which I own as well. The vias is less comfy but more responsive and more fun to ride in my opinion.

I have this bike with the clx64s that came stock. This guy doesn’t know how to review this bike unfortunately. Its weight is just over 16lbs making it lighter than the madone and all other pure aero bikes almost to this day. The brakes are essentially v brakes that do work well. I have done cad1 races all over on the system and it’s very responsive and full braking power is easily achieved. The bars and stem were designed that way for air over under in the wind tunnel. Have a look at cav’s or sagans. Pretty sweet looking. And they both cleaned up on them right away

nice vid tom. the vias was a very good bike in its time but they ruined it with the design of how it looks. I think that the new venge looks way better.

@@Robbert_nl Some people think anything over 4 or 5 hundred is an expensive bike...lol.....but yeah what the point of reviewing an 18k bike that most people are not gonna buy and that includes people that have the means. This type of bike is for someone who competes.

Replying to the title of the vid, no, the venge vias is not, its the cannondale systemsix as the world most aerodymanic ROAD bike in the world. But it doesn't stop the venge vias being the most interesting bike to me. Futuristic design and those calipers look so cool although many people complain about it is not comfortable.

As much i dont like the cockpit area and cable route but I really like the downtube area on the vias it looks like the new cervelo s5, not sure how much aero gain can get, hope the new venge get the same design for the downtube haha

The 3rd-gen Venge (released a few years ago) doesn't feature a wheel cutout at the down tube.
