(2:177) There is no direction of prayer, in fact nowhere in the Qur'an is prayer and qibla/direction/course mentioned as something connected, here is is mentioned, the translator translates as duty based on an examination of the context, altough some could translate connection, which an allude to prayer but in many context it doesn't, and your translators admit it and translate it divergently as "showering blessings" etc... So we all agree the words have diverse meanings. Then, ask for evidence, believers have no issue providing it. Those Christians thinking this "debunks" the mission of the Prophet Muhammad have no knowledge. Petra being where Masjid al Haram was is EVIDENCE for Prophet Muhammad and what he brought with him The Qur'an mentions the people of Muhammad, "THE WORD HAS BECOME BINDING UPON THEM" most of them won't believe. Therefore the SUNNAH of ALLAH, is that when people reject the messenger, he DESTROYS them and their place altogether. Petra suffered EARTHQACKES and was DESOLATE, from being the CENTRAL city of arabia, where traders commerced and people did hajj, to now being NOTHING... DEVASTATED BY GOD ALHAMDULILLAH This is proof, what it is not proof for is the sects who follow Persian hearsay over the Qur'an... But this is like Catholics and Jesus, Jesus is a true Prophet, but proving he is may disprove Catholicism at the same time... Muhammad is the messenger of God and the seal of prophethood, but proving he is disproves Sunnism and Shiism sometimes... But again, i regard this about the arguments being ignorant and made based on bad faith. I believe in this, so it's not bad faith... It's that it makes sense most of it. The Qur'an is mistranslated to make Saudi Arabia "Mecca" fit... Or the "mother of cities" is super twisted and reinterpreted to refer to Mecca... When the "mother of cities" was a name Petra was called about. Not only this, Selah, Isaiah 42, was also idenfitied, as Petra.... So it fits Petra perfectly. The new song, the Qur'an. The people of Kedar, the arabs... But people prefer a mountain in Medina called Selah, probably by the jewish converts after the fact... When Petra makes total sense. In regions where non-standard pronunciations of the Quran are practiced, individuals are encouraged to quietly follow the more standard practices if they are aware of them. This approach helps maintain unity and consistency in recitation. There is a trend towards using the Hafs An Aasim recitation style universally, as it is the standard method used at the Kaaba. This style ensures consistent meanings in the Quranic text across the Muslim world. Hafs An Aasim is the most widely used recitation style globally, particularly in the Arab world, Southeast Asia, and parts of Africa. In contrast, Warsh An Nafi' is more common in North and West Africa, such as Morocco and parts of Algeria. Brother Syfe, you may not be used to this but in places in the West we often repurpose existing buildings as masajid (often churches). Quite often they are not oriented in just the way we need. The solution is the jammat will create straight lines but the imam will place his musala in the correct orientation to Kaaba. We will be parallel to the walls and he will be at a slight angle. I see no reason why early mosques were not existing buildings used in exactly the same way.
