My wife and I came across a Dayglow Yellow transit van, nearside smashed, I said...."Even Eddie won't have a wing for that one..............IN COLOUR"........... As long time fans we both laughed and spent the remainder of our journey, doing an imaginary commentary on a very unlikely rebuild. Lots of love to you both, Chris & Val. Already LIKE & SUBSCRIBED and looking forward to ............THE NEXT ONE

The eml coming back on is probably down to the dpf Even though you guys cleaned it And reset the code the fault will still be there until you tell the van the dpf has been replaced Even though you haven't replaced it You need to to tell van its had a new dpf fitted to get that light out

I use Wynns DPF cleaner all the time. Unblocks the worst DPFs. Had a Juke recently as a non start poured this in off the car 8 hours without a drip out the bottom. 13 hours later it’s flowing out the bottom back on the car and it started. Magic stuff.

Check for the oil presence in the breather pipe connected to the hose from the air box to the turbo. If oil is present, it could be due to a air-oil separator failure or too much blowby. It could misdiagnose with a failed turbo seal.

Always a good idea to final rinse the DPF with De-Ionised water. Tap water leaves a film of minerals and is quite corrosive. I would do the same to the EGR valve.

Hi Rob and Chris, nice little result with this van, hopefully nothing serious putting the management light on. Love the Mother-in-law joke, brilliant (and true) lol..!! Alex
@duncancassarwheelan6777 Жыл бұрын
you need to get it up to temp (coolant and exhaust)and make sure it can do it's own regen of the dpf. if glow plugs, or outside temp faulty, it will not regenerate, dpf gets clogged and the back pressure damages the turbo. from the state of the airfilter i would suspect previous user kept driving with faults on until turbo popped.

Reset the DPF data in the ecu via the DPF service function on the autel 👍🏽 now the DPF is cleaned you should reset the DPF values to let the ecu know it’s clean and also check the live data for the DPF make sure the DPF pressure is below 10mbar at idle and under 80mbars at 3000rpm 👍🏽
@IloveMK Жыл бұрын
I am subscribed and have been for a number of years and love every video you put out thanks the both of you.
@robertwatt7299 Жыл бұрын
With your Autel tool connected to the diagnostic socket you could have gone into live data and selected the "DPF differential Pressure" reading. With the revs at 3000 the pressure should be below 50 millibars and less than 5 millibars at idle. Sometimes you have to select a Peugeot or Citroen model rather than Vauxhall (eg Peugeot 3008) to access the required live data readings.
@BETFRED1981 Жыл бұрын
There will be a lot of oil in the exhaust as well, it will take a while to burn it off.
@RogerM88 Жыл бұрын
I'd try a hard reset, so the ECU thinks the DPF is new. Disconnect the battery, leave it overnight, connect the positive terminal with the negative terminal, then reconnect the battery. It might work.
@AutomotiveEvangelist Жыл бұрын
That Autel has the capability to reset the DPF. I used to do it on my Range Rover after cleaning the DPF. Once the DPF is blocked, the ECU will consider it too far gone. But it's OK to clean it then tell the computer you replaced it.
@RogerM88 Жыл бұрын
@@AutomotiveEvangelist Yes the Autel will have that capacity. I was just talking to the average DIYer point of view, not able to access special functions via OBD2.

Always enjoy your videos, great content. You usually need to reset the DPF learned values after cleaning it if it's had a problem with the DPF, otherwise the engine light will come back on again. You might also want to go into the live data and check the differential pressure on it, if it's clean and not blocked it should be around 0.7 mbars across the DPF.
@michaelhynds8035 Жыл бұрын
Great stuff gentlemen. Really interesting as always. You have such great patience and such a positive, optimistic approach to it all. Thank you.

Put the scann tool on it look at the pressure on the dpf , check the pipes pre and post are clean from the dpf sensor and you may need to change the sensor for a new one depending on the reading . If all ok reset the ecu and take the van for a run but watch the temperature of the exhaust don’t over heat . Don’t let it rise over 650 degrees the van should regen then . Wish you all the best

Nice video chaps. Worth forcing a DPF regen now you have has the DPF bubble bath in it. Hold it at about 3k rpm and it will finalise the clean.
@matthewfrancis9830 Жыл бұрын
Forcing a DPF regen on a OBD is never a good idea, I am on original DPF at 160k miles. Best to add some Reflex DPF cleaner to the fuel tank, make sure it's filled up to half full with diesel, then take it for a fifteen minute motorway blast at 2500/3000 revs on motorway.

I would say many won’t agree but many would. Salvage rebuilds with a twist. JF Automotive in Maidstone list parts which you guys could fit and then take it to them for a tune? Maybe not on a van but a decent car with engine fault? Would love to see this.
