I was always a huge fan of the 3rd gen Camaro since growing up my dad had one, it was a v6 but still an awesome car, that’s why I was so lucky to be able to buy a 85 iroc for my first car, my dad was jealous since he’s never had that chance and always wanted one too 😂

In 98, an old man sold me his 1985 Camaro Z28 5.0 HO, and it was a hot rod! I don't remember too much about it. It was a 5 spd with the 4 barrel carb. All black, t-tops with aftermarket chrome rims. After about 5 months or so, i was getting new tires, and the tire guy wanted to buy it. I eventually sold it to him! The car was still in mint condition. I was able to get over 3 times more than what I paid. That's what started my little side hustle of flipping anything with a motor!

You might find it hard to relate, but if this was 1989, the year I graduated, the era of cassettes and boom boxes, you would be in heaven if you had one of those to drive around. Find one of those with T-tops...nothing compares to cruising around on a warm evening with the tops out.

Had a -88 RS Camaro with 305 TBI and T-top. It was fast, or faster that the other few cars i had before it, and it was a dream car of my childhood, as i was born in the late 70's. There was occasional work to be done here and there, but most I could do myself. Those 80's F-bodies have a special place in my heart (because of Knight Rider). 👍 Edit: here in Finland, those 80's cars tend to be serious rust buckets nowadays, and you can't find a decent one anymore, and if you do, your wallet's gonna hurt bad. COVID raised the prices, and they're not coming down. Bummer.

Really like the car in your channel. The electric pump never built pressure and shut off so I don’t think you were getting any fuel or very little. The bad news if I’m not mistaken you have to pull the rear end out to pull the tank to get to the electric pump. Or you can pull the carpet in the back and cut a hole to get to the The trunk floor but I strongly don’t recommend it because it is dangerous because you have to weld it back

every one is talking engine swap. I say keep it the way it is with the original engine and use it as a cruiser. there are some mods you can do to the 6 to make it a little more peppier.

I had an 85' red IROC Z which was my first car in 1989. 28,500 mi. Hard top, 4 barrel 305. No power windows. I used to smoke the tuned port 305 Z's all day long. Very Rare. I should have kept it.

Just a thought. You could gut it and invest in a roll cage, 4 link set up, a ford 9 inch RE, and add suspension parts then sell it (W/O) a motor to a street racer. 7-10k to get 20k isn't a bad deal. Film the process and get some sponsor's to get tools and parts for it. Always use jack stands and wheel chalks for safety.(not preaching)

Like ALL years of Camaro's however, the 3rd Gens are my favorite mostly because they are 400 lbs (an entire V8) lighter than a 2nd Gen. Just so you know my 1988Z-28 has the same paint sceme....Red w/ silver bottom effects and had the same v-6 but the prev. owner put a 1985 305 w/melling RVcam "runs hard" for a 305.

I’m willing to bet, that car was parked because it stopped running when the fuel pump died. And F body fuel pumps are a pain to replace. And the owner didn’t want to spend the money to fix it.

@zx10danny1 That's a good possibility. Fuel pump just came in. Just need to find the time to work on it.

When I first got my 86 camaro I had to run a wire from the fuel pump to the battery to get it to run

Also check your your fuse for your fuel injectors if a fuel injector fuses bad it won't let it get filled
