I think what you should do is to have a glass top to go tinted when you hit a button. I know they have it in Glass for bathrooms. Maybe you could have it for the glass roof because when the sun is hitting it, it’s gonna be really hot.

Those Cadillac taillights will look better than a dually on a single cab short bed. The pano roof with roll down back window will be awesome but the dually will ruin it. It would look better with a stepside

Yeah I got reminded now when I seen now they are boxing in properly the frame, not a single overdone conversation about it its now just common sense to do it but back in a day of a episode or two where Richard and Aron were arguing back and forth endlessly of boxing in a frame a already bent messed up frame or just getting another one and do it properly, it was so fake and depressing to watch that. There always had to be some pointless arguing and anger all around on all TV shows it was hella depressing to watch. One of many other reasons why I dont watch TV for 10+ years now. If I want to be around stuff like that I would still live with my deranged family or just go to a nearest bar and be around drunks 24 7 ... I dont need that sh t in my life not just at home on TV whatever. These episodes here online make more sense then ever.

What we called in the 80's and 90's, a phantom dually...... Seeing Mike Coy back in the shop, and his part in TexMex, I'd love to see a nod to Rabbit on the truck...... Rabbit was all about a clean OBS.....

for the tailights i would do a clear acrylic molded and fiberglassed to the body, then paint it with a translucent candy to match the body color so that it looks like there are no tail lights, until they are turned on, and the brightness of the lights would show through the translucent candy color

So you want an old school superdome but fixed in place. For the taillights use 1st gen Colorado lights but flip them upside down and swap sides.

I rather like the shape of the ol caddy lights, but a slick set of LEDs with a modified bullseye pattern would set it off. I'd even be okay with frenching in third brake lights mounted vertical.

It's a cool concept but I'd be doing a full wide body all-wheel-drive so you can put that power down. A Currie 9" IFS front diff and an Escalade transfer case and Tahoe spindles would probably work since you don't need a low range. Slap on some 315 section width fronts with 345 rears and that thing would be bitchin with 1500hp.

He is prob going 405 on the rears for the 24x15. Most phantom duallys that go single wheel rear use 24x15 rhey fit perfect

Over here in the UK, some new Range Rovers had smaller lights vertical and a hidden indicator on the top lip of the tail gate, very cool

Shave the 3rd brake light on the roof, and run a bumper brake light bar behind the back window. The new ones have turn signals and reverse built in now. This is what I've been wanting to do to my obs since i haven't seen anyone else do it yet

Some of the OBS diesel truck had a factory front bumper with square inlet holes that you could use on your twin turbo setup. It might be cooler than an aftermarket bumper.

THATS what was different...i bet it was diesels and one tons with the oil coolers mounted down there had the openings. I was a lil confused when i saw the solid bumper on that chsssis.

I’m not fan of the regular cab short bed dually look. It’s definitely been done, quite a bit, Phat Fabs built one a year or so ago. The glass roof may be original though. Also I don’t see the kinda truck that’s going to be a street ripper like that vet. I just don’t see single cab dually being nimble.

I think the Cadillac tail lights were a great idea. What other options do you have at this point besides blanking em out and putting Corvette tail lights on the rear bumper instead which I think is prolly way more common then Caddy tail lights. 4th, 5th or 6th Gen Corvette tail lights (84-14) I'm thinkin but I think the Caddy tail lights are a perfect replacement and fit the area great. The work on the frame looks awesome. Good stuff ✌️✌️

GM had a concept vehicle on display at the Texas State Fair in new vehicle area. Years ago. Obs truck, dually fenders, corvettes irs rear end, and some huge rear tires. Not like tubbed pro street size tires but huge sidewalk, really wide tires. And a efi 502. Not really new.

Well building an OBS Chevy you got to leave some aspects of the OBS in the build like for the lights for example I would keep them original but go LED bulbs

Should’ve done a modern twist on the old 454 obs truck gm made .. run a twin turbo 454lsx crate motor , twin g40-1100 turbos .. Holley efi , tsp inatke manidold .. you’d have the sickest truck there

Hey Richard, you should take a look at Electrically tinted windows for the car/trucks it's that idea has been out for some years. I 1st saw it on Mercedes benz. So it's old tech that you think is new. But it have already been done. My philosophy is if you think about an idea it's already been done.

Yes, that flame cut fender lip is OEM. I had a 1990 Dually so's I oughta know. Wasn't pretty.

A regular cab with the glass roof sounds awesome instead of rolling back window down why not have a slider that is automatic that would be great especially if you're keeping the obs floor vents
