What happened in 2018 was the end of the greatest era in Saints history. I left that game feeling like something had been taken away from me

@ 100% agree I didn’t go but dude since then we’ve been trying to keep the same roster and do the same thing but we aren’t those saints anymore and it’s crushed are salary cap and now we have to rebuild when we should of started the rebuild the moment Sean Payton left.

This does feel like the end of an era. Its kind of sad that it feels like a good chunk of his career was wasted due to mediocrity

Most players go their whole careers without a good team, that 17 to 19 run was magical, yes we lost but we were feared

Abdullah has been a running back for 10 years in the NFL, never rushing for or over a 100 yards once. Plays us and rushed for 115 yards and probably would have been more if he had not gotten injured. Like I said before, the Saints are like Disney World, make a wish and they will make your dreams come true, for the opposing players and teams.

could the older people retire and just be hired as assistants so they stay a locker room presence? then they could look at options on DC.
@forgive938018 күн бұрын
The defense is horrible but Joe woods is literally calling random plays. The entire game you should have stacked the box and let bowers and O’Connell beat you.The saints never stacks the box ever and that how you see people you never heard of go for 5 rushes for 70 yards and a td in one quarter
@AstroBimpson18 күн бұрын
I love Cam Jordan, but I think it would be a mistake for him to do anything other than retire. He's not the same player he used to be.
@100101101101018 күн бұрын
I think we might have more "pull" with coaches who know and love the city/state. So coaches who have been in New Orleans before might be the most likely to get the job, if they liked the city (not everyone does). People like Joe Brady or Aaron Glenn I'd love if we could get Joe Brady. I wouldn't be against someone like Glenn, but I feel like so much of the league is favored toward offense OCs have a better shot with success, but I'd love to be proven wrong by Glenn if we hire him.
@1B2B-ReyA18 күн бұрын
That is a ridiculous reason to hire a coach. Winning makes everything better.
@100101101101018 күн бұрын
@1B2B-ReyA I am not saying we should hire them because they know New Orleans. I'm saying we might be more likely to get them to agree to be hired here if they know and love New Orleans. It might make them more realistic candidates who would agree to take on the position here.
@BROWNBOY83318 күн бұрын
glenn is another DA and Brady has josh allen, i like brady though but this is his first true year as OC and he has arguably top 3 qb in the league
@100101101101018 күн бұрын
@@BROWNBOY833 Eh I think Glenn is probably way different from DA. Probably would bring a totally different sorta culture. His defense has been solid throughout the season even though their defense might be the most injured defense in the league. But like I said, I'd rather an offensive minded guy. We can speak about who we'd want ideally, but ultimately the coach would have to agree and many may not like the situation of the franchise. Some might want the challenge, though. It really depends.
@1B2B-ReyA18 күн бұрын
@@1001011011010 nothing should outweigh the roster and key players. The cap will leave them in a position were, they are going to lose money. So that will make it impossible to plug holes on either side of the ball.

Did you see where AFR is claiming the saints want Mike Mccarthy because he was the OC pre Peyton and mick wants to hire somebody he knows. Just curious on your thoughts?
@100101101101018 күн бұрын
I think Mike will probably stay with the Cowboys. He's had a lot of success there. This is one "bad" season with QB1 injured a lot of the time. If they do end up letting him go I feel like he could be a nice fit here. I think he's been pretty successful
