Monthy python - Brian's life. I'm sorry you didn't make it to the team! What a missed opportunity for Ubisoft. Cool to see yasuke was a real historical character and a warrior. But at this point it feels bit shoehorned in. I would have gone with the hanzo's for a storyline.

Title of Samurai aside, the larger issue is people including yourself here in this video assume he was a warrior, and there’s no evidence of that. Nobunaga wasn’t engaging personally in battles for the year Yasuke was with him. Other than Nobunaga being attacked a dying at Honnō-ji, what evidence is there Yasuke saw any fighting of any sort? 6:44 “Is he taken to war…the answer to that is yes.” Which war/s? Again, Yasuke was with Nobunaga for about a year until his death. Nobunaga spent the majority of that time in Kyoto attending to matters of bureaucracy. He wasn’t personally commanding on the battlefield anymore. He toured Iga in November of 1581 a month AFTER the second Tensho Iga war, but never was there during the actual fighting. Was Nobunaga actually at the battle of Tenmokuzan personally? The last hurrah of the Takeda clan and an extremely important hurdle to overcome in order to unite Japan? Nope. His son Nobutada commanded the troops. 11:45 “he appears in campaigns occasionally” Which campaigns? How occasionally? I’m asking for historical references here. Nobunaga wasn’t really an on field commander anymore at this point in his life, he was a politician trying to unify the country. 14:24 “and was given a short sword with a decorative sheath” Just about everyone carried at least a short sword then, including farmers, townspeople and even children. Yasuke would have been even more out of place if he didn’t, especially if he was sword bearer. Nobunaga died in June of 1582, Toyotomi Hideyoshi implemented the first set of official sword prohibition edicts in 1588, 6 years later. Yasuke appears in a few dozen words across the total of the historical record. People fill in the rest with whatever motivates them.

@@AntonyCummins would yasuke's size and strength be an important factor in war for a leader who could command thousands on a battlefield? i don't think that is likely. i wouldn't want to risk this asset in battle when his value comes from his intimidating presence as i am holding court. plus, his foreignness enhances his value as a bodyguard. if one is an outsider, they're unlikely to get involved in intrigue and conspiracy and will instead cling to an undivided loyalty - like the varangian guard in constantinople

re: ''what evidence is there Yasuke saw any fighting of any sort?'' - wrestling is a form of fighting, is it not? i think there's sufficient evidence for his fighting, just not warfighting. i'm no expert, but weren't there historical precedents for granting samurai status to someone just based upon their being highly accomplished in sumo wrestling? if i were nobunga, i think that it could be very advantageous to keep a giant exotic-looking ceremonial bodyguard nearby when people have to come to see me for negotiations.

support for the idea of rewards based on wrestling prowess: ''A man from Kōka whose name was Tomo Shōrin, some eighteen or nineteen years old, showed good skills and scored seven wins. The next day, too, Nobunaga put on sumo matches, and Tomo again outclassed the others. As a result, Nobunaga selected Tomo to become his stipendiary. At about that time Nobunaga had to take disciplinary measures against a gunsmith by the name of Yoshirō, whom he locked up in a cage. Now Tomo Shōrin received the private residence, household goods, and other possessions of this Yoshirō. Nobunaga also gave him an estate of one hundred koku, a sword and a dagger with gold-encrusted sheaths, a lined silk garment, and a horse with a complete set of gear-glorious recognition for Tomo.''

What annoys me is i clearly remember reading about him 10+ years ago and there was so little information about him. And now people are claiming he was a legendary Samurai and samurai in the warrior sense. Yasuke had his 15 minutes of fame and then disappeared like the small footnote in history he is. Yet people want to act like he was this massive influence.

Even Lockley admits that few primary sources exist (13 sentences) very very little, he was under service for 15 months and it states he did not fight and was sparred due to handing over his weapon after they said he was just some ‘beast’, this is what we know. Nobunaga & his son were killed. He was handed back to the jesuits to be sent to India. So yes he was a Sword Bearer it says, & intimidation factor by Nobunaga’s side, Samurai ? This it does not say.

I honestly don't mind if Yasuke is portrayed as a samurai in shadows. It remains a work of fiction. I would have preferred if they got an actual samurai and told his story but still. What bothers me is Ubisoft claiming they "investigated history" and telling he was a samurai with 100% certainty, heck even media groups are playing pretend with them.

Excellent points. Samurai is a complex term. Most of our conceptions of historical Japan come from the Edo Period. Bushi seems to be the preferred term within Japan, among others I've heard, depending on the time period and context. The Wikipedia page for samurai in Japanese is even labeled "Bushi".

As a Japanese, I must mention that AC Shadows is not a matter of just buying or not buying because this game is so disrespectful to us Japanese. Some of the Ubisoft developers mentioned in the interviews “This game was made based on true Japanese history”, which is wrong. There is so much wrong content. Yasuke was hired as a porter. His job is to carry weapons during war. That it. There is no original Japanese historical document to prove that Yasuke was a worrier or samurai. Thomas Lockley, a guy from British, wrote a book about Yasuke, but he says he wrote it based on Wikipedia and his imagination since there is almost no original Japanese documented information about the black guy. Then the book was published in Japanese and English, but he added false information only to the English version to imply that Yasuke was a samurai. Since then, so many books, articles, etc have been published based on the Lockley’s book. Therefore, most books and articles you see should contain wrong information. The average height of Japanese at that time might have been shorter than that of blacks, but there are many famous tall samurais too. I would say that Yasuke was taller than any Japanese is wrong. Japanese God is not a black color. Some Shinto-related God statues have painted black color, but it doesn’t mean all Japanese Gods have black color. I love the fact that you like Japanese culture, and I didn't want to mention it above, but the recent DEI movement has negatively affected not only Western culture, but also Japanese culture as well. That is why we are so mad against Ubisoft and also Sweet Baby Inc. We don't have any hate feelings for black people. I wish Ubisoft said "The game is fiction", then everybody would not be as angry as this time even though the game still contains many mistakes about Japan. 英語だけで書くと「お前は人種差別主義者の白人」とか「これはフェイクアカウントだ」とか言われるので先に日本語でも書いときます。最後に、日本文化に関心を持ってくれてありがとう。

The issue isn’t that it’s fiction, it’s that Ubisoft tried to pass it off as truth. It really is fascinating the lengths people will go to believe a proven lie so they don’t have to accept they were wrong or lied to. It really is 10x easier to bullshit people than it is to convince them they have been bullshitted by someone else. I’m still waiting for an explanation to why they put Chinese architecture in a game about Japan and why they have Torii gates (temple gates) as the entrances to villages.

Here's what you need to know if you are a history buff. There are only five records of Yasuke: one each in the "Shincho Kouki" and "Ietada Nikki," and three records by Jesuit missionaries. There are only three records: the record of the first meeting between Nobunaga and Yasuke, the record of Nobunaga's return trip from the conquest of Koshu, and the record of the Honnoji Incident. The rest of the contents are largely fan fiction by later generations. And there is no material in these records that could link Yasuke to the status of a samurai. In fact, another record of the Honnoji Incident in the Shincho Koki clearly distinguishes between those with surnames and those without surnames. Yasuke was not a samurai. This is the reality.

He was born in Mozambique (allegedly) and came to Japan. Later, he was given to Nobunaga. The 15 months he spent in Japan as a normal person with his own house was unique enough from the history of slaves and from the history of Japan.

Yasuke has pretty much always been portrayed as Samurai by the Japanese... People love to use the word "Retainer" without knowing what it even means... All of nobunaga's retainers were Samurai... The guy who ended up leading his army after he died was a high ranked samurai AND his retainer... The guy who betrayed Nobunaga was a samurai... AND HIS RETAINER.. They RETAINED the throne while the lord was gone or died.. The reason people place Yasuke as a Samurai was because the "honours" he reveived were honours that the Samurai and bushi received... Heck on of Nobunaga's most trusted samurai was his retainer and his sandel bearer.... Carrying the weapons of the Daimyo was a very high honour... It would make you his body guard.. You know when a Lord enters a house and wants to sit.. he only brings his trusted bodyguards... and give one of them his Katana or Spear,, so it's always close and held by someone they trust... Not too mention Yasuke was placed at many spots where Nobunaga did battle.. yet people think he would not use the guy with the strenght of ten men... but have him stand there... holding swords??? That is why he has always been portrayed as a samurai by the Japanese historians/media... People act like we have written souurces that place every one of Nobunaga''s retainers as samurai.. I do find it funny that with the countless books media documentaries ( uncluding japanese ones ) only now are people making a big deal out of it... What you don't know is that the process of becoming a samurai is systematic and difficult💁 Yasuke received a position where 小姓, who will one day become a samurai, assist the samurai under a samurai. 小姓 become a samurai when you begin as a servant and have been recognized for your abilities and qualifications through years or decades of hard work. But NOT a Samurai💯 It's like a medieval Knight and a modern Special Force. Even if you are a Tenno or a Shogun, you cannot appoint a samurai who has no qualifications. Even Nobunaga was not a Tenno, nor was he a Shogun😁 No one can give you Special Force status even if you are a president. No one follows a leader who is not fair in giving prizes and punishments. However, Nobunaga was not that kind of person and was the greatest leader of the time👏 When you say that Nobunaga appointed an unqualified person as a samurai only through personal liking and favored him, it is an act of insulting Nobunaga, the samurai, and the whole of Japan's spirit. It seems that you see the world too navily with your kind heart😇

The stories of giving a sword or a house to Yasuke are only found in the records of the Jesuits, while the official Japanese records have only about two lines mentioning him. Why is that? Japanese people are known for their love of keeping records, even turning diaries into literature to pass down to future generations. Furthermore, while there are stories about giving Yasuke some assets, why are there no stories about the challenges of overcoming the language barrier when communicating with him? Even in Japan just 40 years ago, there were many stories about how difficult it was to work with foreigners due to the language barrier. I think this applies not only to Japan but also to Europe. To become the right-hand man of the highest-ranking military commander in that society-or in Europe, a member of the royal family- it requires not only swordsmanship but also intelligence, education, and political acumen. A Samurai or Bushi is not just a mercenary. To rise in rank, one must not only be an excellent swordsman but also be intelligent, well-educated, and competent as a politician. Promoting someone based solely on their swordsmanship would not set a good example for other warriors. Knowledge of mathematics was also necessary. The samurai of that time naturally possessed these skills, so even if they are later described as having risen from humble beginnings, they had studied diligently. Without that, they wouldn't have been able to communicate effectively or plan strategies together. Was Yasuke given such an education by the Jesuits? Despite many Japanese people being aware of the existence of a Black man known as Yasuke, there are no works featuring him as the protagonist. This is not because Yasuke was Black, but because, from the perspective of samurai knowledge that every Japanese person is familiar with, there is little significance in telling the story of a Black man who was brought along as a servant by missionaries and bought by Nobunaga. Imagine the CEO of the largest company in America decides to keep his favorite mistress by his side at the company and hires her, perhaps as a secretary. While she may indeed be an employee, earning a high salary and receiving benefits like other employees at a top-tier company, can it be said that she has the same abilities as the other employees who entered through a highly competitive process? Yasuke was Nobunaga's favorite, much like the Western-style chairs and red wine that were unused at the time. That's all. Having said that, I think it's very unfortunate that Yasuke, who was purchased by a missionary man and died alone in a foreign land far from his homeland, had such a sad fate. I hope that his true honor is not tarnished by meaningless political agendas and distorted pride. I believe he would not have wanted to be remembered in this way.

As documented in the Nobunaga family history, Yasuke was a koshō (小姓), a sword bearer. Basically a servant akin to a squire or a Porter, who would tend to Nobunaga’s armor and weapons, etc. the word for Samurai, 武士, never appears in conjunction with Yasuke’s name. Of additional note, the modern statue of Yasuke often depicted in social media was quite obviously made by someone who not only did not know Yasuke’s history, but who also was ignorant of Samurai culture. The statue shows dreadlocks. Had Yasuke been a Samurai as the myth states, he would have had a chonmage (丁髷), which was not a fashion choice, but a necessity in order to properly wear a kabuto (兜, 冑) helmet. Anyway, sword bearer, not Samurai, but an interesting tale nonetheless.

Whether Yasuke is a Samurai or not is a grey area of debate. Here's the thing, his position traditionally reserved to trained member of prestigious samurai family. It's not a position for a nobody. His job is basically admin, advisor, butler, and body guard combined. He received benefits of samurai level- stipend, fief, and ceremonial weapon. Some argue a lowly soldier also receive weapon, that doesn't count! Allow me to elaborate, a low basic soldier receives weapon from quatermaster a weapon that is mass produced; Yasuke received a weapon which is custom forged by the best smith and from the hand of Lord Oda Nobunaga. The meanings are not the same. Yes, by name he is not a Samurai BUT by substance he is likely one. If we use technicality logic to prove Yasuke is not a Samurai, then by that logic the legendary Benkei (who is the role model of Samurai culture) is not a Samurai either.

He would be there to intimidate with his size and strength anyone who approached Nobunaga, and not risked in the pitch of battle. @@ShadowAnimeInk I thought what I said was pretty clear. The side of the argument that wants to promote Yasuke as a full and legitimate samurai warrior hero has been trying to delegitimize the side which disagrees. They're claiming that it's racism which motivates people to reject the historicity of this version of Yasuke. Your talking about how delicious your vindication was seemed like it was a part of that narrative - like a celebration of beating the ignorant people who aren't agreeing he was a samurai. My point is that it would be racist to reject a story about a black samurai warrior if the rejection is due to your assuming his being an African meant he lacked natural abilities - but if you're assuming he couldn't have been respected as an equal by the samurai class because of cultural prejudices, then that isn't racist at all. It's calling out historical racism. The opposite of that would be rewriting history in order to erase past racism.

See, I tried my best to understand why the backlash was on that specific aspect when the term samurai especially in that time period could be very complex and the vagueness of the info on yasuke , they clearly did it for diversity and they are greatly exaggerating yasukes importance but the fact that yasuke could’ve been a samurai is true, the thing people should focus on are the numerous other stupid stuff in that trailer or the fact that yasuke can sneak in anywhere😂 or do anything outside of nobunagas view, the ninja stuff I believe trained ninja females could’ve been a thing after all samurai daughters had to train (I don’t know they had to in sengoku era though) so the more secretive ninja could’ve trained some geisha though the main information extraction techniques would’ve been sex (brothels in general) where high ranking men will be at, and also the story looks cheesy because Ubisoft , we also need to see the gameplay I was to see the combat

Extremely simple and rough way to explain what SAMURAI is Bushi (worrier class family member) or GOUSHI (minimum size village ruler family member) working for local Samurai master as city council officer, police officer, military commander as such, that the SAMURAI without master called RONIN time when YASUKE was in Japan was such a mess, but in same time, so many people had chance to become Bushi and success such as well known Hideyoshi started as commoner, married to asihgaru(foot solder) leader's daughter, build up carrier from there to think of YASUKE, if tall black eye catchy guy standing beside most famous Samurai master at the time in the battle field makes him instant prim prize head for pile of enemy Akechi solders, every body going after him and not even need to probe it's him he was one and only at there, how convenient! he never survived after Honnoji incident if he was there, but Akechi released YASUKE any ranked samurai (commander class) count as prized head, Akechi was seen YASUKE as asihgaru or something equivalent or less if YASUKE was well known worrier, his chance of survival was extremely thin, next to none, at least Akechi wasn't seen YASUKE as Samurai class but such things not going to effect to have fun to play fantasy game, your wallet, your choice.

I'm kinda skeptic with descriptions of Yasuke's because they said he's as strong as 10 men yet they only mention his height. Tall tale stuff? I would expect strong guys to be described by the how big their muscles are. Though, I haven't read sumo wrestlers described during sengoku. Anyway, I think it's just blowing hot air by Nobunaga to show off his rare possessions or overrating by the Jesuits to get close to Nobunaga, idk but cmiiw. And his battle participations could be as anticlimactic as him just behind a jinmaku being a sword bearer as part of regalia.

Wikipedia in both English and Japanese are full of misleading wrong information. Foreigners all looked up the Wikipedia and believe ALL in there. Also please do not change the definition of samurai for the benefit of foreigners fantasy. It is real cultural appropriation and history falsification. - Stipends were given to some special peasants, monks, merchants and female servants, etc too. So the stipend receivers are not necessarily bushi (samurai was high class bushi). - Receiving a house does not mean the receiver was a bushi. Nobunaga would have given a house whomever he wanted. Yasuke never went to battle fields. Nobunaga didn't go to the Battle of Tenmokuzan noted in the Wikipedia, meaning that Yasuke never fought there. Nobunaga's son Nobutada's army went there to fight the battle. And Nobunaga went there AFTER the battle was over and Yasuke was seen with Nobunaga on the way back. Honnō-ji Incident was not really a battle/war. It was a sneak attack by traitor. Yasuke was not in armor because it was a sneak attack. However he was never injured when Mori Ranmaru died fighting for Nobunaga. Nobunaga's son Nobutada got injured by guns and arrows and had to commit seppuku, However Yasuke was all fine weirdly if he was really fighting like the Jesuit report says. Anyway Yasuke surrendered right away when told to hand over the sword. Samurai is all about loyalty, honor and duty. Surrendering was not really samurai doing. Glorifying Yasuke the stuff carrier for 15 months is getting insane and more and more Japanese are feeling very strange about this mad obsession among foreigners because Yasuke has been known as an exotic pet for Nobunaga. Foreigners are altering Japanese history by making Yasuke into a samurai or a hero. 甲冑を着て戦えばみんなサムライだと勝手に侍の定義を変更するの本当に迷惑なのでやめて欲しい。これが本当の文化盗用です。勝手に侍文化を外国人が乗っ取るな。

But what about the sword that was given to Yasuke? Would that not imply he was expected to act as a Bushi in some capacity? It seems the stipend, house, and sword all together would be typical for a Bushi rather than the other things you mentioned. Also, there is some evidence he served as a bodyguard for the Jesuits so it seems he would have served a similar role for Nobunaga. I'm not sure if he actually fought or not but it seems he was a hired warrior.

@@YurRedRooster You need an official surname to become a bushi even in Edo era. Having a official surname/clan name was a privilege of being bushi. (Aristocrats had official surname too.) Having an official surname was a distinctive marker for the ruler class to be differentiated from the ruled class. Peasants were not allowed to use any private surname in public even if they had for the convenience of their daily life. During Edo era (maybe later period), some special merchants etc. were allowed to use their private surname in public. I think they paid some to get such a privilege. It was only after Meiji era, all Japanese were allowed to use their surname in public. Hideyoshi started as Ashigaru (bushi class but some company's web site says the only Achigaru leader was bushi and the members were not..., and he got a surname as a bushi while contributed enough to get promoted to higher rank bushi. His surname kept changing. 羽柴 Hashiba - 平 Taira - 藤原 Fujiwara - 豊臣 Toyotomi + Hideyoshi married into a samurai clan. He also changed his lord accordingly 主君 Lord: 松下之綱 → 織田信長 Oda Nobunaga → 秀信 Hidenobu →正親町天皇 Emperor Oogimachi→ 後陽成天皇 Emperor Goyouzei
@applesoda6308
@applesoda6308 3 ай бұрын
@@kaguth Nobunaga gave Yasuke only a shortest sword. The two swords you see around the waist of Bushi are long sword and middle sword. Yasuke got none of them. Even peasants had longer sword than that in Sengoku era. Even after the sword hunting by Hideyoshi, I think middle sword like 脇差 was allowed for peasants. The sword things are complicated depending on the period. So having a sword especially in Sengoku era is not the marker of bushi. And even if you receive a house or stipend, it doesn't make you a bushi because servants/retainers who were not bushi could get such things as they were working for the lord. I don't think Yasuke was a bodyguard for Nobunaga when Yasuke got himself only a shortest sword. Besides would you trust a foreigner you just know for 15 months who doesn't understand your language 100 percent as your body guard? Did Yasuke understand the Japanese loyalty, honor, duty, sacrifice enough to die for his lord? I don't think Yasuke would sacrifice himself to protect Nobunaga in the first place. There were many other real loyal vassals around Nobunaga who was willing to die for him. Yasuke was not even injured at Honnoji incident while Mori Ranmaru died fighting for Nobunaga. Instead Yasuke surrendered by handing over his sword. Akechi Mitsuhide spared Yasuke saying he is just an animal. So the people who knew Yasuke were just considering Yasuke as some kind of exotic pet for Nobunaga. Bushi is a status of warrior/soldier during the feudal Japan. Bushi 武士 is not the word for whatever fighter. Senshi 戦士 is the word for warrior in Japanese. Like if some European or African guy who were warrior or fighters in Europe or Africa came to Japan in 1500s, Japanese would not consider them as Bushi because they were not included in the Japanese class system. Those foreign warriors are just warriors. Why would you want to call them Bushi? Like if an European knight came to Japan in 1500s, does he become a Bushi automatically? Does Japanese bushi go to Europe in old times and automatically become a knight? Foreigner are misunderstanding the words Bushi and Samurai as just a whatever warrior?? Oh my god....
@kaguth
@kaguth 3 ай бұрын
@applesoda6308 As I understand it, the two swords did not become a hard rule until the later Edo period. You've made some good points, but ultimately, this is a question of semantics, and I believe Yasuke was a Bushi in the sense that there is a good amount of evidence to support he was a paid warrior. A lord could pay a lot of people for a lot of reasons, but if he "gives" you a salary and a sword, it's most likely he is giving you a position in some military capacity. According to Luis Frois, Yasuke did know a little Japanese, and Nobunaga never tired of talking to him. That sounds like he knew him well enough for him to serve as a bodyguard, and if think about it, why wouldn't you want a man who was a full foot taller than almost every Japanese as your bodyguard? He would be very intimidating. As for you saying he was not injured after Honnoji, we don't know that for sure because the description is vague. We only know he fought for a while then he surrendered. He could have been injured and also I don't think all of Nobutadas samurai died in that battle either. Meaning Yasuke was not that disloyal compared to other Bushi

Easy. Yasuke as a supporting character has a very good chance of becoming a fan favorite. A Japanese samurai (who's not a historical figure) as playable protagonist would've kept with the Assassin's Creed trend of non-historical characters for playable protagonists and kept the fans, especially the Japanese, happy. Jack the Ripper doesn't count. They're more fictional than historical. No recorded name, birth date, death date. They may have been an individual or multiple unassociated people with similar modus operandi... or actually non-existent. Fix the shinobi. I don't know any video game that had historically accurate shinobi. Assassin's Creed had the chance to present historically accurate shinobi (of course, the playable protagonist still has to be someone who's not a historical figure) but of course, Ubisoft went with the stereotypical fictionalized shinobi. If they need to keep male and female representation in the playable protagonists while staying as historically accurate as possible, an onna-bushi and a samurai would've worked. Separating the shinobi from the samurai was already a wrong move. Some samurai were also shinobi.

26:05 sorry but where do we draw the line with "No politics in my games!"? 1st of it's not your game, you just bought it from someone else. 2 I guess disco elysium and other games that are about ideas which are political like Call of duty cold War, Bioshock, etc are bad because they explore, with different amount of degrees, politics are bad? That's stupid things to say.

@johnmanole4779 It’s not your game but it’s your money and so “don’t like it don’t buy it” keeps being said and that’s what people will be enacting.

1. It doesn't matter if Yasuke was Samurai or not. The important truth is that Yasuke doesn't represent Samurai. And there's no reason why Yasuke has to represent Samurai🤔 2. 天正9年2月、信長は弥助の存在を知って宴を開き、そこへヴァリニャーノとともに弥助を呼んだ。やがて弥助を小姓として召し抱えることになった。 "In February of Tensho 9, Nobunaga learned of Yasuke's existence and held a banquet to which he and Valignano invited Yasuke. Eventually, he took Yasuke into his service as a 小姓." 小姓 means Child in 漢字. 小姓 do underwork FOR a samurai. [ NOT a Samurai 100%🫡 ] 3. I've been enjoying AC series since AC2. I loved the protagonist of Native American in AC3, and the protagonist of Egyptian in AC Origins. What I love the most is Unity with the French background❤️ 4. Now, as just an Asian, I just want to play an Asian AC with Asians as a protagonist. But they call me racist😟

@@AntonyCummins A 小姓 is a position to train to BE a samurai. It’s like a page training to be a Knight, it‘s like a fish training to be a Special Force. Just because they become a samurai One Day doesn’t mean that a 小姓 is a samurai. I‘ve been boxing for 10 years personally. And I also sparred with a lot of pro-fighters. But if anyone calls me a pro-fighter, that’s just wrong. And I know you won‘t agree with this anyway. So it doesn’t matter. And I watched your video and I felt you are just a calm and warm-heart guy. So I don‘t wanna make you upset. I respect you and your opinion🙆🏻

@@shadowone01x99no the fact that they use a historical character not a original character that is japanese is the problem, also for changing the previous story for this two characters speaks volumes, if they want to make a yasuke game they can but not in AC, its origins-valhalla again with extra steps

@@shadowone01x99But real history would see Yasuke carrying Oda's sword(honourable).That would be a good role for him as an NPC. Making the servant the playable samurai is embellishing history.

@@nozenkyuzero This isn't the first time Quebec studio applied a real historical character as playable in their games, in fact they made Jack the Ripper playable and added their own version of his story. Jack was the first historical character in an AC game, it's safe to say Quebec really liked doing this. Sure it was only in DLC, but it's a fact.
