Printable Heros for me, both the free versions and the Patreon versions are excellent 👍👌

I agree with the comments about variety, but I do love flat minis for monsters and NPCs. 3d minis are nice for players because we can always do a "painting party" together. My wife has the flat minis from WotC for Wild Beyond the Witchlight which are cool, but probably won't be used much elswehere. Thanks for the great video, Nate! I'm going to look into some of these!

Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful. I haven't seen the WoTC flat minis. I'll have to look into them.

@@WASD20 They're pretty nice, acrylic. About the same thickness as the ones you were showing here. They're made my WizKids and a bit pricey for what you get. About $20 for a set of around 20 pieces.

Great video! Flat minis never seem to be as popular with people as 3D minis, so it's always nice to see more flat mini options! I have a bunch of Pathfinder Pawns (got the PF2e Beginner Box and Bestiary Pawn Box before they went out of stock, though I hear they may return for the PF2e remaster) for cardboard options. For acrylic/plastic, I really like Skinny Minis, who have had a couple great Kickstarters and also had a digital token option for VTTs. The Skinny Minis look to be thicker plastic than GTG, have front/back sides, fit on their bases well, have a HUGE variety (especially for PCs), the art looks great, and you can buy binders with sheets to hold them (think a trading card binder, but for different sized minis). I highly recommend them!

Heroforge, which is expensive but high quality, can now make 2D acrylic printed versions of the minis you can design or the packs they produce in house.

Nice review. Personally, if I'm going 2d (for my travel kit) I prefer making flat, square wargame-style chits that don't stand up as you always have a thin side. I like the look of like Advanced Squad Leader style

I use a lot of skinny minis from Dungeon in a box which is on plastic rather than cardboard they cost more but the quality is amazing

Maybe doubling up the number of bases would help with large monsters?

Love these things for the price...especially if they end up coming out with tons of other sets. I ended up going all in on Skinny-Minis here recently and am really looking forward to getting them in the mail!

I just got my set of wanderers emporium minis. I'm very happy with them. Going to use them in this weekends session. 5 stars from me

I have been making my own 2d minis by printing them out and cutting them with scissors, i just use canva to give them that black outline and use any art i find off of the internet. It is really cost effective but time consuming, but hey, i find it fun to cut them out.

Great video! I was interested in the Wanderer's Emporium minis before they launched but still haven't picked up a set. If you were not aware, the Pathfinder Pawns (and Starfinder ones too) have been discontinued by Paizo. I will have to take a look at the GTG Minis.

I was not aware! Thanks. That leaves an even bigger opportunity for folks like Wanderer's Emporium.

I also was thinking about 2d minis but since most of the time you look down on the map from above I instead made tokens with character art (from magic cards and other online sources) I have over 200 tokens from monsters to heroes. Also dirt cheap
@ificouldfly-1610 ай бұрын
Thank you, I was actually looking for idea how to do this when i typed "2d minis" :D I will know now to search for "tokens" :)
@Zanji123410 ай бұрын
@@ificouldfly-16 there exist some nice DIY guides how to make them for cheap. I bought round epoxi stickers and some deco bottlecaps for i think 20 EUR or so and now have over 200 "minis"

Anyone know some good options for Europe? I love GTG minis, but the price of international shipping is prohibitively expensive haha

The wanderer's minis would be so much better if they didn't use an art style for babies.
