Wasdale Head camping trip:Ilgill Head,Wastwater viewpoint,Ravenglass. 8th-10th July 2019

A solo 2 day trip 30 mile down the coast to Wasdale Head Inn where they run their own campsite.£5 a night..a bargain. Anyway I climbed up Illgill head on the 1st day..shame it wasnt quite clear as it was drizzly condition but still got decent views..2nd day was abit of a washout so had a run out to Ravenglass and saw the Riman Bath house remains as well as a look at the trains in the Ratty station.Also visited the Wastwater viewpoint,sadly the best views were shrouded in cloud .Enjoyed 2 evenings in the pub with food and ales..A nice short break,shame about the weather #WasdaleHeadInn #Wastwater. #Lakedistrict.

Yep a bit of a soggy one in the end after arriving.Still enjoyed a couple of days relaxing though that was main thing.. There are a lot of old Roman settlements situated on the Cumbrian coastline, they must have liked the area...always fascinating to see and read the backstory to each ruin.I wondered if the bath house was used for all the roman hierachy on site but no peasants allowed?.. atb Mark.

Easily the best value for money site in the Lakes. I’m looking forward to going back next weekend, class area. Nice little vid pal.

Its nice and simple to park then sort out yer tent..£5 a night is superb value... other campsites should take note instead of fleecing people. Its handy for me being an hour away up the coast..thanks for your comment and watching my video. ATB Mark.

@@markredfox73 Yeah, very lucky! I can't wait to come and visit the area. It looks gorgeous! I'm in Manchester now. Still not sure how the restrictions work and we decided to wait a bit longer. We don't want to cause any troubles coming by there now. But hopefully we'll be able to come this year.

It was a nice spot to pitch up for a break...I did film a bit on the flat plateau on illgill but didnt add it to video but yep there are a lot of spots to camp ont top but you may get hammered by winds. John has knee probs so he is out of action for a bit.😕 atb Mark.

I had 2 nightmare nights at that campsite.never again. Pissed arseholes running around naked and generally being idiots.never again. At least at the National Trust campsite you can inform somebody and get them removed.is it still £5 jeez its been 12yrs since i was there. . .. love the dogs.

There is someone on the reception in the Wasdale inn mind ovenight should any bother occur...max 4 people in a group i think..i wouldve put a stop to it myself if any racket...ive got form with that on a previous site😈..dont take no shit lol.. its handy for a fiver though..more beer money of a night 😆atb Mark.
