Yess, I cant deal with these 72 hour washdays. All I do is wash, deep condition, LCG with ors hair lotion and blue magic. Then I stretch it with braids and style the next day. I only prepoo when taking out a protective style. This method is great for my parents pockets because im a teenager. I have 4b with some 4c, medium porosity and medium density.

I recently have started my natural hair journey. Your videos have been SAVING me. I used to wash my hair "like Becky". I lost so much hair from the detangling process, it was such a matted mess. I recently washed my hair following this video. I pre pooed overnight. I washed my hair in SECTIONS and oh my gosh. Life changer. It helped SO MUCH. My hair was so soft from the pre pooeing and easy to detangle from washing in sections. As I did my two-strand twists, I didn't have to use my spritz bottle as much as I used too either. I love your technique and I plan on using it every time its time to wash my hair. Thank you so much Jenn!

This is my routine as well. It takes me about 1.5 to 2 hours. And like you. I detangle from start to end. I pre poo with an oil mix of Avocado, Olive and JBCO. I finger detangle from rinsing out the prepoo, during my shampoo, during my application of the deep conditioning, and then using a wide tooth comb during the leave in application of the L.C.O. method. Then I style. Its been working well. Lol. I have also been using the Melanin haircare line and my 4a/b hair loves it.

This video gave me LIFE. Jenn, I can't thank you enough. I've watched tons of hair care videos and I'm pretty far along my natural hair care journey, but your video is one of the few where the person and the content felt so relatable. Let's start with the opening scenes with your hair in that FINEEEEE twist-out style! I've done twist-outs before but I'm not creative with it, but seeing how you pinned it to give extra pizazz has inspired me. And then seeing that your hair length is ACTUALLY CLOSE TO MINE. So many hair vloggers have super long hair that feel unattainable, but seeing you look so great and confident in similar mid-length hair gave me an immediate feeling of relief, like I'd found the right place. I absolutely laughed out loud when you appeared in your matted twists and were honest about how you just had not been in the headspace to take care of it. I feel like so many hair care videos start out with the person's hair already looking great. But because my life is so busy, I usually wash biweekly and by the time I get to it, it looks like how you started in this video. I felt so seen. Then the fact that you admitted grocery bags work better than hair caps but you're trying to look cute for the video--another 1000 points in my book HAHAHAHAH. Again, so many hair care videos show fancy shmancy products but sometimes it's the simplest tools like leftover grocery bags that do the trick, and I'm so HAPPY to see an example of that because it means my methods aren't so crazy! I again laughed out loud when you showed the massacred hair in the bathtub that we've got to clean up because it further grounded this video in reality. Then you again killed me when you said how you always dread wash day because it's gonna take time, but then you end up jamming out to tunes and the scalp massage feels so good for the body/soul so you always end up enjoying it--THAT'S SO ME. Lastly, the fact this video says a full wash routine takes 3 hours SENT ME OVER THE MOON. A friend made me feel bad that my wash took at least 2-3 hours--and that's if I'm just doing twists--a bun takes more time to get it perfect--so I wondered if I was just slow. But I couldn't see much room for improvement--finger detangling, washing the hair section by section, then moisturizing while being careful to not re-tangle the hair--IT TAKES TIME, GOSHDARNIT. And you showed I'm not crazy! Thank you, thank you for this video! And your tip about just washing the scalp may help me shave some even more time. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I don’t think you will get hygral fatigue if you’re not washing your hair everyday. Every day is a lot of water but if you’re only washing once a week your hair will be fine. And constantly adding oil to your hair is preventing it from being truly hydrated.. that being said, I love your videos and your personality 👍🏾
@JennJackson4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching love! x
@FancyNotSeditty4 жыл бұрын
Kammara Jackson I think it depends on what oil is being added to truly moisturize...some oils are sealants (grape seed , castor) while others actually penetrate the hair shaft (avocado, olive). But honestly I think hygral fatigue is a non factor for 4 hair types. Our hair craves moisture, hard to believe that there can be too much water for something that’s so naturally dry.

I typically pre-poo with my deep conditioner, detangle while rinsing out the deep conditioner, wash, do a light condition, and style (I hate having to get out the shower to deep condition lol plus I never noticed a difference in softness doing it this way). Although these days, I detangle before I rinse out my deep conditioner and do my wash routine with my hair in loose twists. This method cut my time in half - which says a lot since my original wash routine didn't take more than an hour. It's willd. Also, I'm definitely gonna need the tutorial on your hairstyle:)

when my hair will be long enough, *i'll wash my hair in sections* ° 7:00 apply shampoo to your scalp for each section . Make sure to use your fingertips, not your nails; Then rinse your hair (still put in different sections) ° 12:00 after having deep conditionned, gently detangle your hair with your fingers (to work out any knots). After you can use a comb (making sure that you always start at the end and make your way up). When the detangling process is over, rinse out the deep conditioner

Thank you for sharing your routine! Hi hair twin! 😊 😍 I apply selsun shampoo to scalp and conditioner to hair and deep condition. Then add a little more sulfate free shampoo and wash out in shower, retwisting sections like you. I apply the conditioner again before styling as a leave in. I only use OGX brand. I like the blue bottle argan oil conditioner for it's thick consistency. I use it as a deep conditioner with heat, leave in and moisturizer, on my skin sometimes too. JBCO too... I'm so glad we have KZbin to learn from one another. We should all also understand that while our hair is similar it's still different and has different needs. There are so many variables from person to person (health issues, diet, water quality, climate, etc). TFS 😊

I’m happy I found you!! I actually have 3c/4a hair but I’m watching for my daughter!! 😩 I struggle with her hair! I can honestly say I don’t know how to manage it but I’ve just spent over $200 on products (Canadian products GOODNESS THE SHIPPING 😓) just for her hair.. her hair has broken off, she’s had bald spots, severe knots, I can never keep her hair moisturized, it’s matted ALOT! I’ve cried over her hair (she’s 3 btw)... her hair is so brittle I can’t do braids anymore.. one day a braid was actually accidentally pulled from her scalp and it ripped from her scalp so easily because it’s so damaged... I use a spray bottle and natural oils and sometimes royal crown... her hair would be dry again before the day is over.. I’m using your routine and giving her iron and we’ll see how it works! She has 4c high porosity.. as she gets older, seems as though it gets worse.. it didn’t start off like this.. I’m trying
@inspirestrength5054 жыл бұрын
Bree Sanco Hi, you wrote this on social media so I am replying on social media. Red flag!! when you said your daughters hair was "accidentally pulled from her scalp and it ripped from her scalp so easily because it was so damaged." Children when they are tender headed usually cannot sit still if the combing of their hair is a painful process and it can sometimes frustrate the person who's doing the combing to be as gentle as they should be. She is only three (3) society standard of the child's hair perfectly coiffed is silly and should be outdated. wash her hair add a good moisturizer in it and if your able to put her hair in one, do it or leave it in afro or how ever her hair fall. meaning the less done the better. Check her diet brittle hair is lack of protein and iron. increase her salad and vegetable intake plus lots of water you will see it will make alot of difference in the way that her hair behaves. if you have hard water you can try distilled water or even water boiled and left out to cool down for a couple of hours will do fine to see how it react on her hair. I researched high porosity hair and I saw some you tubers using blue magic hair grease because the hair stayed moisturized longer. (using a spray bottle spray her hair with water then apply the blue magic . Thank you for keeping her hair natural and trying to do your best to take care of it. xoxo

Same kinky, coily, slinky tezrure. I love my 4c hair. Who can wear a twa, stretch with single twists, have that coily bounce back afterward? 4C!!!!! I wash once a month, now I'm ok with the hair ball because mine is 3x's the size but now I see that it's okay. Yours is with a weekly wash. What a relief. I prepoo with warm cod liver oil, it feels so good on my scalp. I wash then use an avocado mask, wash and twist. During quarintine I've switched to avocado because aloe vera is nowhere to be found. But my hair is softer (frizzes easily still but...) from the avocados. No box braids during quarantine and I'm eaiting to see if it still grows. I keep braids for growth, but not going to the hair store for NOTHING right now.

So you literally, put shampoo, retwist that section and once you've applied the shampoo to all the other sections you rinse it all out. I've never tried that before usually I would shampoo one section, rinse, and then retwist and move on to the next. Your method is way more efficient, and causes less shrinkage. Thank you 🥰

Exactly! and I don't have to keep going back and forth between shampoo and rinsing, I can just rinse when I am done. x

@@JennJackson I did the same thing last wash day. Hadn't seen anyone do it before. Glad to see you do it that way as well. It's easier that way.

Very nice routine. I love your videos. My wash day is slightly different. I wash twice a month instead of weekly and in loose twists instead of loose sections. I don't detangle until the next day because my hair has to be 80%-90% dry, and I use my fingers instead of a comb. I don't prepoo because it aggravates my scalp. Wash day for me is 6 hours due to length and ridiculous volume. Detangling takes about 2 hours.

Still trying to figure out what products works on my hair. I'm new at taking care of my own hair, I've been using the Canvas Girl products on my hair and it has gotten thicker but I also want length, so I'm learning as I go.

This video is so satisfying, I love my hair but I definitely need to stop neglecting it😩😩 What happens the day after wash day? Do you unlock the twists and feed your hair with some products or do you leave the twists for a while? Which products do you use everyday?

No don’t chuck that brush!! It is lifeeee and I have 4c hair. Best purchase ever. Brings out the definition of my curls so well. I would stick with the tangle teezer brush personally 😌

You have convinced me to try melanin products. Love your hair. It is beautiful. Wash routine: Lately I have been going with natural products. Onion juice pre-poo. Rice water rinse after shampooing. I am working on stretching out my shampoo days. I used to shampoo once a week. I am now shampooing every two weeks. I am trying to get to 28 days. I also moisturize in between shampoo days with aloe vera juice and olive oil. Been rocking two-strand twist bantu knots for about 5 weeks now. We gone see what happens when outside opens back up.

You arr not alone. I never look forward to wash day, but I do enjoy the finished product. It doesn't take me 3 hours though, unless I leave the deep conditioner on for an extended amount of time. I detangle before and after washing, during and after applying deep conditioner, as well as while applying leave ins and oils. I usually rock a twistout or braidout after wash day. Sometimes rock a headwrap for a day or two to allow the definition of the twists/braids to set in. Enjoyed your video!

Btw, I'm glad you tossed that tangle teaser. I don't know about those. Inthink a wide tooth comb was a good alternative. I choose to use my fingers only.
