I had a customer with a black Silverado who had some transfer scratches from a refrigerator. Since I’ve heard horror stories of gm black paint, I decided to do a modified 5-5-5. I did the waffle pad on speed 4 and a tiny bit of pressure and it took it right off and didn’t leave any hazing. Gold standard system is incredible

I strongly suggest not walking down a step ladder facing away from it. Always step down the way you stepped up. I made the mistake of doing that and most of my foot was too far over the step and I lost my balance. I fell onto the armrest of a nearby chair and broke my ribs. It took 8 months to heal and I still have issues to this day from it. It's the smallest things that can cause the biggest injuries.

I really love these videos showing how to be more efficient; very nice! But can you please start showing some 50/50 shots or show us a panel using your quick polish method with the damp pad and no rinse soap vs. another half or panel showing your pad and same polish using the traditional / dry polish method? I'd like to see if all of this speed means the correction abilities are greatly reduced or are they about the same or other. Some close ups of the panels would be very helpful to many viewers I'm sure. Thanks and keep up the great work.

You guys do a great job, I noted though that you said avoid sunshine. I have a two car garage but no drain. How would you suggest I approach washing a car and detailing that has never been detailed? Should I wash the car outside with a foam rinse of and then move the car inside to use DIY rinse less wash and gloss? I don’t have a rotary polisher? Also how would you approach a leather interior to avoid it getting denim on it and also not ending with a slippy interior? Light coloured leather just hates denim

I am ceramic coating with your 5 year shortly. I have waxed my car quite religiously since i bought it two years ago so my plan is to use more of a stripping shampoo for the initial wash. My plan is to completely rinse the car of the shampoo and then decon with your towel and iron remover. If i leave the car wet and then decon using this process am i alright on the lubrication side? Only other question is if i use the water spot remover when would you add that process? I have well water thats filtered so my water is very "pure" but i figure if im doing it once then go all out. I did buy the 5 year kit, which is a great deal, so i plan on a quick polish with the gold standard. The paint is in good shape but im comfortable polishing so might as well.

The yellow waffle has more cut, so we are getting a nice combination of defect removal (swirl and scratch removal) plus gloss. The rotary jeweling pad doesn’t cut a lot but offers great gloss. If you ever want to figure it out, do a test side by side and see what looks better to you and stick with that for the entire car 👍

I have a question regarding the use of rinseless wash to remove the polish residue. If i wiped down a panel , rewet the towel in rinesless after each section, wouldnt i be also reintroducing the polish residue back onto the towel when im wiping the next section? @@diydetailofficialso is the rinseless wipedown done to make the prep spray easier and more efficient?
@diydetailofficial
@diydetailofficial 10 ай бұрын
We wiped down with Rinseless Wash and then applied Ceramic Gloss in this case. Normally Rinseless Wash-dampened towel just cuts through the polish residue easier and faster so it's less scratch risk on the paint and easier for your arm and shoulder. After that you would panel prep the vehicle and ceramic coat IF you were coating. In this case, we had a goal of polishing and protecting in 1 hour so we made choices around what to do and not do to get results and meet the time criteria
@diydetailofficial
@diydetailofficial 10 ай бұрын
Yes, it makes the next step more efficient. DIY Detail Rinseless Wash doesn’t leave anything on the surface, and the polish residue stays in the bucket. If you noticed, we don’t go back to the bucket often. The Gold Standard Polishing System barely leaves any residue, and the MF towel is just damp not wet.

Quick question, what drying towel do you prefer? The blanket or the waffle weave.
@diydetailofficial
@diydetailofficial 10 ай бұрын
Love the drying blanket but 1) it’s out of stock and 2) it’s heavy and takes forever to dry out once wet. The waffle weave’s beauty is in how lightweight and compact it is plus how much it can dry for its size

So I think I have the process right, I wrote the entire thing down and added some points from one of your other videos as I'll be using Iron Remover. Please let me know if there's anything missing or if you have any corrections: Dilutions: Brake Buster 3:1 Rinseless Wash 256:1 1. Wheels - Spray brake buster on wheels one side at a time. - Scrub. - Spray them down with Rinseless. - Scrub again. 2. Rinseless Wash - Spray car down with Rinseless. - Start from the top down. With sponge use red side first, then go over same area with black side to pick up grit. 3. Decontamination - Spray vehicle down with Rinseless. - With the clay towel already presoaked in Rinseless, spray one pump of Iron Remover on towel and one on surface. With no pressure, wipe surface down. Use one quarter of towel for each quarter of car. - Hose vehicle off and then towel dry. 4. Polish - Dampen polishing pad. - Attach pad to polisher, and spray one pump as it's spinning. - With no pressure on the machine, start with the machine on the surface (Dual Action/ Random Orbital speed 3, Rotary 400 RPM). Slow movements, 50/50 overlap, 4 passes total over each section. - Do one section at a time (a section is no wider than your shoulders). After each section buff with a Rinseless dampened towel, then spray with Ceramic Gloss. Dry immediately. - Wash pad as it gets clogged or use another clean dampened one. 5. Finishing touches - Spray wheels with Ceramic Gloss, then dry. - Using dampened Rinseless towel, wipe down door jambs. Spray with Ceramic Gloss, then dry. - Dress tires if desired.

Yvan, I completed this process on my car yesterday and the results were fabulous... it took me 9 hours though, as it was my first time. I wanted to get your thoughts on this: after the wash and clay towel treatment with Iron remover, I hosed down and dried the vehicle and it was already glossing. After the Gold Standard buffing and ceramic gloss though, I didn't see any difference on 90% of the car other than the really marred up areas that needed the buff. So my question is in the future do I have to buff the entire car or can I save time and focus on trouble areas only? Can I do the same for customers expecting a 6-9 hour service as well, or after I wash and clay their vehicle and notice there's not that many issues, to advise them that I can do just the trouble spots and save them time/money as well? Mind you I only used the yellow waffle pad, so that may also be a factor. One more question: can I reuse the waffle pads on future cars? If so, how many times can I reuse until no longer usable?

I like the break down you have done. Curious to see what Ivan would recommend to add Prerinse & Prewash. I seen it on one of Pan the Organizer video. Before the contact wash he did a prerinse(with Rinseless) and prewash(with Foam Cannon) then contact wash. So it would be something like. 1.a Prerinse - Spray car down with Rinseless. - Rinse off with water(Pressure Washer) 1.b Prewash - Apply Foam spray (higher PH for dirty/between season), remove traffic film, bug guts, etc... - Rinse off with water(Pressure Washer)

Rinsless? If you have a hose pretty much anything dirt wise is fine… just spray or foam your solution, rinse, then spray or foam and contact wash. But if you’re talking about the no hose method, that’s where I would say common sense should dictate. If you have doubts about it being safe, use the hose.
